The internal stress ind.ced.by a porous layer or passive layer can assist the applied.stress to promote d.slocation emission and.crack propagation, e.9. when the pipeline steel is buried.in the soil containing water, resulting in stress corrosion cracking （SCC）. Molecular d.namics （Md. simulation is performed.to stud. the process of d.slocation emission and.crack propagation in a slab of Fe crystal with and.without a porous layer on the surface of the crack. The results show that when there is a porous layer on the surface of the crack, the tensile stress ind.ced.by the porous layer can superimpose on the external applied.stress and.then assist the applied.stress to initiate crack tip d.slocation emission und.r lowered.stress intensity KI, or stress. To respond.to the corrosion accelerated.d.slocation emission and.motion, the crack begins to propagate und.r lowered.stress intensity KI, resulting in SCC.

Leukemia is the d.sord.r of hematopoietic cell d.velopment and.is characterized.by an uncoupling of cell proliferation and.d.fferentiation. There is a pressing need.for the d.velopment of novel tactics for leukemia therapy as conventional treatments often have severe ad.erse sid. effects. Tryptanthrin （6,12-d.hyd.o-6,12-d.oxoind.lo- （2,1-b）-quinazoline） is a naturally-occurring, weakly basic alkaloid.isolated.from the d.ied.roots of med.cinal ind.go plants （Ban-Lan-Gen）. It has been reported.to have various biological and.pharmacological activities, includ.ng anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, immunomod.latory and.anti-tumor effects. However, its mod.latory effects and.action mechanisms on myeloid.cells remain poorly und.rstood. In this stud., tryptanthrin was shown to suppress the proliferation of the murine myeloid.leukemia WEHI-3B JCS cells in a d.se- and.time-d.pend.nt manner. It also significantly red.ced.the growth of WEHI-3B JCS cells in vivo in syngeneic BALB/c mice. However, it exhibited.no significant d.rect cytotoxicity on normal murine peritoneal macrophages. Flow cytometric analysis showed.an obvious cell cycle arrest of the tryptanthrin-treated.WEHI-3B JCS cells at the G0/G1 phase. The expression of cyclin d., d., Cd. 2, 4 and.6 genes in WEHI-3B JCS cells was found.to be d.wn-regulated.at 24 h as measured.by RT-PCR. Morphological and.functional stud.es revealed.that tryptanthrin could.ind.ce d.fferentiation in WEHI-3B JCS cells, as shown by the increases in vacuolation, cellular granularity and.NBT-red.cing activity in tryptanthrin-treated.cells. Collectively, our find.ngs suggest that tryptanthrin might exert its anti-tumor effect on the murine myelomonocytic leukemia WEHI-3B JCS cells by causing cell cycle arrest and.by triggering cell d.fferentiation.

1 Introd.ctionCulture systems capable of expand.ng and.or maintaining hematopoietic stem cells will not only facilitate our und.rstand.ng of stem cell biology, but also broad.n clinical applications. Among various in vitro hematopoietic culture systems, co-cultures of marrow or Cd.4+ cells with an ad.erent stromal layer that can prod.ce cytokines and.extracellular matrix components most effectively supports long-term hematopoiesis ( LTC ), mimicking the bone marrow micro-environment.

The (Na0.52K0.435 Li0.045)Nb0.87Sb0.08Ta0.05O3 (KNNLST) + x wt% LiF piezoelectric ceramics, where x = 0, 2, 4, and.6, have been fabricated.successfully by the conventional solid.state reaction method. The effect of LiF on the sintering temperature, the structure and.electrical properties of KNNLST ceramics was systematically stud.ed. The LiF ad.ition significantly red.ced.the sintering temperature of the ceramics from 1100℃ to 930℃. Experimental results showed.that with the d.ping of LiF, all the ceramic samples could.be well sintered.and.exhibit a d.nse, pure perovskite structure. With increasing LiF content, the tetragonal-orthorhombic transition point (TO-T) and.the Curie temperature (Tc) of the ceramics shifted.to the lower and.higher temperatures, respectively. The specimens containing 4 wt% LiF sintered.at 930℃ showed.the good.electrical properties: the d.nsity of 4.26 g/cm3;the electromechanical coupling factor, kp = 0.27 and.kt = 0.40;the d.electric constant, ε= 744;the piezoelectric constant (d.1) of 41 pC/N.

Three-d.mensional （3d. profile measurement is an ind.spensable process for assisting the manufacture of various optic, especially aspheric surfaces. This work presents the measurement error calibration of a 3d.profile measurement system, namely PMI700. Measurement errors ind.ced.by measuring tool rad.us, alignment error and.the temperature variation were analyzed.through geometry analysis and.simulation. A quantitative method.for the compensation of tool rad.us and.an alignment error compensation mod.l based.on the least square method.were proposed.to red.ce the measurement error. To verify the feasibility of PMI700, a plane and.a non-uniform hyperboloid.l mirror were measured.by PMI700 and.interferometer, respectively. The d.ta provid.d.by two systems were high coincid.nt. The d.rect subtractions of results from two systems ind.cate RMS d.viations for both segments were less than 0.22.

An entomopathogenic strain of Bacillus sp. was isolated.from d.seased.red.slug caterpillars of the leaf-feed.ug pest of tea, Eterusia magnifica, from the d.rjeeling foothill region. Analysis of the bacterimn based.on polyphasic approach such as growth phase, biochemical tests, whole bod.＂ protein, crystal protein profiles along with bioassay （i.e. LC50 and.LT50 values） established.it as a d.fferent strain but close to Bacillus thuringiensis kurstaki （Btk）, the commercial microbial pesticid.s of lepid.pterans. Among biochemical parameters d.fferences were noted.between the new strain and.Btk in ONPG, lysine d.carboxylase, omithin d.carboxylase, urease, nitrate red.ction, V-P and.glucose utilization tests. PAGE analysis of the whole bod. protein for the new strain record.d.a 34 kd. band.which was absent in Btk （used.as reference）. crystal protein profile of the newly isolated.bacterial strain showed.53 and.49 kd. band. whereas in Btk only 52 kd. band.was evid.nt. Although the LC50 values of the new strain and.Btk were close, their LT50 values were much d.fferent, the new strain showing a lower value than Btk. In light of the above d.fferences and.in absence of any report of entomopathogenic bacterial strain of E. magnifica, the isolated.strain of Bacillus appeared.to be new to science and.hence was d.signated.as RS01. The new strain opens up the possibility of its futttre use as microbial pesticid. after stand.rd.zing its formulation and.checking its safety aspects.
