Objectives:Rhizopus stolonifer,w.ich causes soft rot of sw.et potato,has resulted in substantial loss of economy *** and Methods:The antifungal effect and mechanism of cinnamaldehyde(CIN)against *** w.re explored by biochemical analysis and RNA-sequencing in this research,and the edible quality of CIN-treated sw.et potato w.s ***:The results show.d that CIN inhibited the grow.h of *** and reduced the incidence of soft rot in sw.et potato at a minimum inhibitory concentration of 1000μL/*** damage of the cell w.lls of *** by CIN w.s associated w.th the upregulation of *** leakage and malondialdehyde content increased follow.ng CIN-treatment,w.ich w.s correlated w.th increased reactive oxygen species levels and decreased catalase *** of ERG genes and oxidative stress-related genes follow.ng CIN treatment w.s associated w.th impaired cell membrane *** mitochondrial structure of *** w.s damaged by CIN treatment resulting in decreased respiration rates and ATP production,w.ich w.s correlated w.th low.r expression levels of IDH1,COX4,and ***:Our research suggests that the inhibition of CIN on *** w.s related to the disruption of its normal gene expression netw.rk,and CIN maintained the nutritional and edible quality of sw.et *** study provides valuable insights into the antifungal mechanism of CIN on *** and the maintenance of root quality,w.ich contributes to the effcient use of CIN for controlling soft rot in sw.et potato.

This study conducted a comparative analysis of extractable hopanoid hydrocarbons and those released via stepw.se pyrolysis of typical Eocene immature oil shales in China,namely the Huadian,Maoming,and Fushun *** the Huadian and Maoming shales exhibit immature indicators in extractable and kerogen-bound hopanoids(notably,high abundance of C_(29)to C_(32)17β,21β-hopanes and unsaturated hopenes).In contrast,the Fushun oil shale's hopanoids from extracts and pyrolyzates suggest a higher maturity *** absence of neohopenes in the pyrolyzates of the shales underpins that the kerogenbound hopanoid skeletons resist ***,the Huadian oil shale's asymmetric distribution of C_(29)and C_(30)hopenes and neohopenes hints at the presence of an additional *** unsaturated hopenes,such as hop-20(21)-enes,identified in pyrolyzates of the three kerogens at various pyrolysis temperatures,reveal the occurrence of double bonds in kerogen-bound hopanoid skeletons w.thout methyl *** absence of hop-20-(21)-ene in extracts suggests that it might act as an intermediate of these novel hopenes during the epimerization of hopanoid skeletons w.thin *** extractable and pyrolytic hopanoids'stereochemical alignment indicates that epimerization may occur in both ring systems and alkyl side chains of kerogen-bound hopanoid *** stepw.se pyrolysis proves to be a quick screening method for geological hopanoids w.thout causing any significant alteration to the original skeletons even w.en cracking multiple covalent bonds is necessary.

This study by Chui et al adds further important evidence in the treatment of highgrade pancreatic injuries and endorses the concept of the model of pancreatic trauma care designed to optimize treatment,minimize morbidity and enhance survival in patients w.th complex pancreatic *** the authors have demonstrated favorable outcomes based on their limited experience of 5 patients w.o underw.nt a pancreaticoduodenectomy(PD),including 2 patients w.o w.re“unstable”and did not have damage control surgery(DCS),w. w.uld caution against the general recommendations promoting index PD w.thout DCS in“unstable”grade 5 pancreatic head injuries.

Chronic heart failure(HF)is a clinical syndrome w.th high morbidity and mor-tality *** rehabilitation(CR)is a medically supervised program designed to maintain or improve cardiovascular health of people living w.th HF,recommended by both American and European guidelines.A CR program con-sists of a multispecialty group including physicians,nurses,physiotherapists,trainers,nutritionists,and psychologists w.th the common purpose of improving functional capacity and quality of life of chronic HF *** activity,lifestyle,and psychological support are core components of a successful CR *** has been show. to be beneficial in all ejection fraction categories in HF and most patients,w.o are stable under medication,are capable of *** individualized exercise prescription should be developed on the basis of a baseline evaluation in all *** main modalities of exercise training are aerobic exercise and muscle strength training of different intensity and *** is important to set the appropriate clinical outcomes from the beginning,in order to assess the effectiveness of a CR *** are still significant limitations that prevent patients from participating in these programs and need to be solved.A significant limitation is the generally low.quality of research in CR and the presence of negative trials,such as the rehabilitation after myocardial infarction trial,w.ere comprehensive rehabilitation follow.ng myocardial infraction had no important effect on mortality,morbidity,risk factors,or health-related quality of life or *** the present editorial,w. present all the updated know.edge and recommendations in CR programs.

Early-onset gastrointestinal cancer:An epidemiological reality w.th great significance and implications

During the last few.years,epidemiological data from many countries suggest that the incidence and prevalence of many cancers of the digestive system are shifting from the older to the younger ages,the so-called“early-onset cancer”.This is particularly evident in colorectal cancer and secondarily in other malignant digestive neoplasms,mainly stomach and in a lesser degree pancreas,and biliary *** should be emphasized that data concerning digestive neoplasms,except for those referring to the colon and stomach,could be characterized as rather *** exact magnitude of the shift in younger ages is expected to become clearer shortly,as long as relevant epidemiological data from many parts of the w.rld w.uld be *** most important question concerns the etiology of this phenomenon,since its magnitude cannot be explained solely by the better diagnostic methodology and the preventive programs applied in many *** existing data support the assumption that a number of environ-mental factors may play a primary role in influencing carcinogenesis,sometimes from *** that have appeared in the last decades related mainly to eating habits,consistency of gut microbiome and an increase of obese people interacting w.th genetic factors,ultimately favor the process of *** these factors how.ver,are not entirely sufficient to explain the age-related changes in the frequency of digestive *** of the individual effect of each of the already know. factors or factors likely to be involved in the etiology of this phenomenon and studies using state-of-the-art technologies to accurately determine the degree of the population exposure to these factors are *** this article,w. attempt to describe the epidemiological data supporting the age-shifting of digestive malignancies and their possible ***,w. propose some measures regarding the attitude of the scientific community to this alarming phenomenon.

A four-band index for both liquid and solid w.ter and its applications in the Aral Sea Basin

Various investigations have been conducted to analyze the w.ter-coverage area of the Aral Sea and the Aral Sea Basin(ASB). How.ver, the investigations incorporated considerable uncertainty and the used w.ter indices had misclassification problem, w.ich made different research groups present different results. Thus w. first ascertain the boundaries of the ASB, the Syr and Amu river basins as w.ll as their upper, middle and low.r reaches. Then a four-band index for both liquid and solid w.ter(ILSw. is proposed to address the misclassification problems of the classic w.ter indices. ILSw.is calculated by using the reflectance values of the green, red, near infrared, and thermal infrared bands, w.ich combines the normalized difference w.ter index(NDw.) and land surface temperature(LST) together. Validation results show.that the ILSw.w.ter index has the highest accuracy by far in the Aral Sea Basin. Our results indicate that annual average decline of the w.ter-coverage area w.s 963 km^(2) in the southern Aral Sea, w.ereas the northern Aral Sea has experienced little change. In the meanw.ile, permanent ice and snow.in upper reach of ASB has retreated considerably. Annual retreating rates of the permanent ice and snow.w.re respectively 6233and 3841 km^(2) in upper reaches of Amu river basin(UARB) and Syr river basin(USRB). One of major reasons is that climate has become w.rmer in ASB. The climate change has caused serious w.ter deficit problem. The w.ter deficit had an increasing trend since the 1990s and its increasing rates w.s 3.778 billion m^(3) yearly on average. The total w.ter deficit w.s 76.967 billion m^(3) on average in the w.ole area of ASB in the 2010s. How.ver, up reaches of Syr river basin(USRB), a component area of ASB, had w.ter surplus of 25.461 billion m^(3). These conclusions are useful for setting out a sustainable development strategy in ASB.

During our investigation of diatom biodiversity in Xizang,tw. species exhibited unique morphological features discriminative from all previously know. *** w. describe these tw. species and describe as new.the genus,Spargeria *** new.genus features narrow.to w.de rectangular valves,narrow.valve mantles,filiform raphe branches that occur on the valve face only,terminal raphe fissures straight or slightly deflected to same side,bow.tie shaped central areas,chambered striae present on the valve face only,being absent from the mantle,w.der striae near the axial area and very narrow.near the margin,multiseriate striae w.th small and round areolae that are occluded ***,Spargeria zhuii *** larger and robust valves,radiate striae,w.th one divergent stria near the apices,w.ile Spargeria chenia *** smaller,w.th narrow.valves,striae slightly radiate in the middle,becoming convergent or parallel near *** new.genus belongs to the family Pinnulariaceae,and it w.s compared and contrasted w.th other genera of this *** w.rk suggests the need for continued studies to document the biodiversity of diatoms in Xizang.
