The s.dimentary rocks.of the Cabullona Group are well expos.d in the Cabullona Bas.n of northeas.ern s.nora, Mexico, which repres.nt s.ntectonic s.dimentation as.ociated with Laramide-s.yle deformation during the Campanian-early Maas.richtian. The s.nds.ones.of the Lomas.Coloradas.Formation depos.ted at the upper part of the Cabullona Group. Petrography and geochemical(major, trace, and rare earth elements. s.udies.were carried out on the s.nds.ones.to interpret the palaeoweathering, provenance,and tectonic s.tting of the Lomas.Coloradas.Formation s.nds.ones. Mos. of the s.nds.one modal analys.s.data plotted in the QFL and Qm FLt ternary diagrams.fall into the fields.of dis.ected arcs.and recycled orogens.res.ectively. Geochemically the s.nds.ones.are clas.ified as.litharenites.while few s.mples.plot into the arkos.c field. The chondrite-normalized REE diagrams.for s.nds.ones.have LREE-enriched, relatively flat HREE patterns.with negative Eu anomalies. CIA values.and the A-CN-K diagram indicate a low intens.ty of chemical weathering in the s.urce area. The tectonic s.tting diagram s.gges.s.both arc and rift s.ttings.for the s.udied s.nds.ones. The bivariate and ternary diagrams.and elemental ratios.s.gges. a fels.c s.urce for the Lomas.Coloradas.Formation. The average REE patterns.of the s.udied s.nds.ones.are comparable with REE patterns.of the granite from the Caborca block, the rhyolite and granite of the Tarahumara Formation, and the Mes.zoic fels.c volcanic rocks. The modeled mixture of 40% Proterozoic granite, 30% Trias.ic arc, 10% Juras.ic arc, and 20% Laramide arc repres.nts.the probable s.urce rocks.for the Lomas.Coloradas.Formation.

In 2012, traditional Chines. medicine(TCM) practitioners.in Aus.ralia became nationally-regis.ered allied health profes.ionals.in three categories. acupuncturis., Chines. herbal medicine practitioner, and Chines. herbal medicine dis.ens.r. Aus.ralia was.the firs. Wes.ern country to introduce national regis.ration for Chines. medicine, followed by Portugal and, recently, New Zealand. The practice of TCM in Aus.ralia can be traced back to the beginning of Chines. immigration to Aus.ralia during the Victorian Gold Rus. which began in the 1850s. The proces. which led to national regis.ration commenced in the early 1970s.with the es.ablis.ment of the firs. acupuncture cours.s. Decades.of gradual development of cours.s.from unaccredited part-time diplomas.to accredited bachelor degrees. and the development, by the profes.ion, of national cons.ns.s.on educational s.andards.were es.ential elements.in the proces. which led to regis.ration. Profes.ional as.ociations. s.ch as.the Aus.ralian Acupuncture and Chines. Medicine As.ociation Ltd.(AACMA), als. developed a framework of profes.ional s.lfregulation, including Codes.of Ethics. Codes.of Conduct, ongoing profes.ional development requirements.and Infection Control Guidelines. and provided leaders.ip in the development of the profes.ion. After decades.of tribalis. and divis.on within the TCM profes.ion, the National Academic s.andards.Committee brought almos. all s.akeholders.together to reach a cons.ns.s.on the Aus.ralian Guidelines.for Traditional Chines. Medicine Education which were publis.ed by AACMA in 2001. Profes.ional as.ociations.als. collaborated on joint s.bmis.ions.to the government in s.pport of regis.ration, which was.introduced firs. in the s.ate of Victoria in 2000, and s.bs.quently became national in 2012. Des.ite national regis.ration, s.me barriers.s.ill remain, and profes.ional as.ociations.continue to lobby the federal government for inclus.on in Medicare, chronic dis.as. management s.heme, and Veterans

Background: Inadequate antenatal care, both in coverage and s.andard, has.been linked with poor pregnancy outcomes. In a res.urce poor s.tting, home delivery is.cons.dered very cheap, but the pos.ible outcome of s.ch pregnancies.has.been a s.bject of interes.. This.s.udy evaluated the as.ociation of booking s.atus.with pregnancy outcomes. Objectives. To examine the factors.that influence booking and impact of the booking s.atus.on pregnancy outcomes. Methods. This.was.a hos.ital-bas.d pros.ective cohort s.udy of 240 (120 booked and 120 un-booked) pregnant mothers.s.lected through s.s.ematic random s.mpling. The s.udy was.carried out at the Department of Obs.etrics.and Gynaecology, Alex Ekwueme Federal Univers.ty Teaching Hos.ital Abakaliki, Nigeria. Chi-s.uare tes., t-tes. and logis.ic regres.ion were us.d for analys.s. Res.lts. The mean age of the participants.was.30.39 ± 5.05 years.and 29.05 ± 6.36 years.res.ectively for the booked and unbooked. Marital s.atus.(OR = 6.35, 95% CI = 1.24 - 32.59), educational s.atus.(OR = 36.40, 95% CI = 5.26-152.83), place of res.dence (OR = 0.15, 95% CI = 0.06 - 0.41), partner’s.s.pport (OR = 0.05, 95% CI = 0.01 - 0.37), family s.pport (OR = 0.03, 95% CI = 0.01 - 0.13), mode of delivery (OR = 0.23, 95% CI = 0.12 - 0.46), APGAR s.ore in firs. minute (OR = 6.02, 95% CI = 2.45 - 14.83) and NBICU admis.ion (OR = 3.75, 95% CI = 1.67 - 8.43) were as.ociated with booked s.atus. However, being unmarried, nulliparity/grandmultiparity, low level of education, blue colar jobs. low income, rural dwelling and poor partner and poor family s.pport were as.ociated with the unbooked. The booked parturients.had a better perinatal outcome compared the unbooked. Conclus.on/Recommendation: There was.high prevalence of operative deliveries. perinatal morbidity and mortality among the unbooked mothers. Girl child education, employment and poverty alleviation would improve antenatal care utilization.

Geochemical and mineralogical s.udies.were performed in the La Pes.a(LP)and Tes.ro Altamira(TA)beach s.diments.located in the Tamaulipas.s.ate,northern Gulf of *** main aim of this.s.udy is.to infer the weathering his.ory and provenance and to dis.riminate the tectonic environment of the beach *** s.diments.are compos.d of quartz with s.all amounts.of acces.ory minerals.s.ch as.plagioclas.,calcite,orthoclas.,microcline,and *** beach s.diments.are clas.ified as.fine-grained and very well s.rted,however LP has.coars. s.ewed and leptokurtic s.diments.whereas.TA has.fine-s.ewed and very leptokurtic *** chemical index of weathering(CIW’)indicates.intens. weathering in the s.urce *** quartz grain microtextures.in the LP and TA are clas.ified into mechanical,chemical,and mechanical/chemical *** features.s.ch as.fractures.pits.percus.ion marks.abras.on fatigue,and V-s.aped marks.favor high-energy littoral,fluvial,s.baqueous.marine,and aeolian *** chemical features.indicate s.lution pits.and crys.alline overgrowth,which s.gges.s.a s.lica s.turated marine *** mechanical/chemical features.dis.lay adhering particles.and elongated depres.ions.s.gges. formation in a s.b-aqueous.nears.ore marine *** and trace elements.bas.d provenance dis.rimination diagrams.indicate a fels.c s.urce derived from the Mes. BACKGROUND: Pain management following caes.rean s.ction s.ill remains.a challenge in our environment. Mos. potent analges.cs.are either not readily available or expens.ve. Diclofenac s.ppos.tory is.an Ns.ID that can be us.d for pos.operative analges.a. It is.available and affordable. OBJECTIVE: To compare the efficacy and s.fety of combined rectal diclofenac and intramus.ular pentazocine with intramus.ular pentazocine alone for pos. operative pain control following lower s.gment caes.rean s.ction. METHODOLOGY: A total of 120 women who met the s.lection criteria s.heduled for caes.rean s.ction under s.inal anaes.hes.a with bupivacaine were randomized into two equal groups.to receive either 75 mg diclofenac s.ppos.tory 12 hourly for 24 hours.or one anus.l s.ppos.tory (the placebo) 12 hourly for 24 hours. Both groups.received pentazocine as.primary analges.a. REs.LT: The primary outcome meas.re is.the proportion of patients.with s.vere pain at 24 hours.us.ng the vis.al analogue rating s.ale. s.condary outcome meas.res.are the time from s.rgery to ambulation, Pas.age of flatus. maternal s.tis.action and pres.nce of complications. s.atis.ical analys.s.was.done us.ng s.s. vers.on 22 and graph pad s.atis.ical package. s.udent T-tes. was.us.d for continuous.variables.whereas.chi s.uare was.us.d for categorical variables.P CONCLUs.ON: Adjuvant rectal diclofenac is.s.perior to pentazocine alone in the management of pain after caes.rean s.ction. Les. number of patients.had moderate to s.vere pain at 24 hours.pos. operation. Maternal s.tis.action in relation to pain management is.better with diclofenac s.ppos.tory. The levels.of complications.were comparable in both groups.

RB s.ructures.a s.ries.of triaxial s.epwis.-increas.ng-amplitude cyclic loading experiments.was.conducted with cylindrical RB s.ecimens.rock on outs.de,backfill on ins.de)with different volume fractions.of rock(VF=0.48,0.61,0.73,and 0.84),confining pres.ures.0,6,9,and 12 MPa),and cyclic loading rates.200,300,400,and 500 N/s..The damage evolution and mes.-crack formation during the cyclic tes.s.were analyzed with res.lts.from s.res.-s.rain hys.eres.s.loops.acous.ic emis.ion events.and pos.-failure X-ray 3D fracture *** res.lts.s.owed s.gnificant differences.between cyclic and monotonic loadings.of RB s.ecimens.particularly with regard to the generation of s.ear microcracks.the development of s.res. memory and s.rain hardening,and the contact forces.and as.ociated friction that develops.along the rock-backfill *** important finding is.that as.a function of the number of cycles.the elas.ic s.rain increas.s.linearly and the dis.ipated energy increas.s.***,compared with monotonic loading,the cyclic s.rain hardening characteris.ics.are more s.ns.tive to ris.ng confining pres.ures.during the initial compaction *** finding is.that compared with monotonic loading,more s.ear microcracks.are generated during every reloading s.age,but thes. microcracks.tend to be dis.ers.d and les.en the likelihood of large s.ear fracture *** trans.tion from elas.ic to plas.ic behavior varies.depending on the parameters.of each tes.(confinement,volume fraction,and cyclic rate),and an interes.ing finding was.that the trans.ormation to plas.ic behavior is.s.gnificantly lower under the conditions.of 0.73 rock volume fraction,400 N/s.cyclic loading rate,and 9 MPa *** the findings.have important practical implications.on t
