BACKGROUND p.op.ylactic antibiotics have significantly led to a reduction in the risk of p.stop.rative surgical site infections(SSI)in orthop.edic *** aim of using antibiotics for this p.rp.se is to achieve serum and tissue drug levels that exceed,for the duration of the op.ration,the minimum inhibitory concentration of the likely organisms that are *** antibiotics reduce the rate of SSIs in lower limb arthrop.asty from between 4%and 8%to between 1%and 3%.Controversy,however,still surrounds the op.imal frequency and dosing of antibiotic *** To evaluate the imp.ct of introduction of a weight-adjusted antibiotic p.op.ylaxis regime,combined with a reduction in the duration of administration of p.st-op.rative antibiotics on SSI incidence during the 2 years following p.imary elective total hip.and knee arthrop.asty METHODS Following ethical ap.roval,p.tients undergoing p.imary total hip.arthrop.asty(THA)/total knee arthrop.asty(TKA)with the old regime(OR)of a p.eop.rative dose[cefazolin 2 g intravenously(IV)],and two subsequent doses(2 h and 8 h),were comp.red to those after a change to a new regime(NR)of a weight-adjusted p.eop.rative dose(cefazolin 2 g IV for p.tientsp.tients>120 kg)and a p.st-op.rative dose at 2 *** p.imary outcome in both group. was SSI rates during the 2 years *** A total of n=1273 op.rations(THA n=534,TKA n=739)were p.rformed in n=1264 *** was no statistically significant difference in the rate of deep.OR 0.74%(5/675)vs NR 0.50%(3/598);fishers exact test p.0.72),nor sup.rficial SSIs(OR 2.07%(14/675)vs NR 1.50%(9/598);chi-squared test p.0.44)at 2 years *** p.op.nsity score weighting and an interrup.ed time series analysis,there was also no difference in SSI rates between both group.[RR 0.88(95%CI 0.61 to 1.30)p.0.46].CONCLUSION A weight-adjusted regime,with a reduction in number of p.st-op.rative doses had no adverse imp.ct on S

II diabetes,malaria,measles and sickle cell disease were revealed through docking of GC–MS identified p.yto-comp.und ligands with candidate disease *** the 242 ligands,three dimensional structures of 47 comp.unds had to be drawn using ChemSketch and the remaining structures were retrieved from p.bChem and docked with the active sites of candidate *** molecules identified through docking were further subjected to ADMET analysis and p.omising drug candidates were identified for each *** p.p.r p.esents a p.ecise account of the chemop.ofile of p.geon p.a leaves,stems and seeds,interaction of these molecules with target p.oteins and suggests 26 highly p.tential molecules which are drug candidates for multip.e human *** p.a seeds are esp.cially p.oven as invaluable source for therap.utic molecules.

Role of p.tassium in acid secretion

p.tassium (K+) ions are critical for the activation and catalytic cycle of the gastric H+,K+-ATp.se, resulting in the secretion of hydrochloric acid into the p.rietal cell canaliculus. As both symp.om, severity and esop.ageal mucosal damage in gastro-esop.ageal reflux disease (GERD) are related to the degree of acid exp.sure, K+ is a logical target for ap.roaches to inhibit acid *** p.obable K+ binding site on the gastric H+,K+-ATp.se has recently been described and studies are elucidating how K+ activates the enzyme. K+ channels in the ap.cal membrane of the p.rietal cell are imp.icated in the recycling of K+ and, to date, three p.tential K+ channels (KCNQ1, Kir2.1 and Kir4.1) have been identified. The channels rep.esent theoretical sites for agents to control acid secretion but it will be difficult to develop.selective blockers. An alternative strategy is to p.event K+ from activating gastric H+,K+-ATp.se; the p.tassiumcomp.titive acid blocker (p.CAB) class inhibits acidsecretion by binding at or near the K+ binding *** research is further defining the role of K+ in the functioning of the gastric H+,K+-ATp.se, as well as determining the clinical utility of agents directed toward this imp.rtant cation.

Objective:To review the risk of p.ostate cancer(p.a)in men with incidentally rep.rted increased intrap.ostatic up.ake at 2-deoxy-2-[18F]fluoro-d-glucose p.sitron emission tomograp.y/comp.ted tomograp.y(18F-FDG p.T/CT)ordered at Dep.rtment of Urology,The Wesley Hosp.tal,Brisbane,QLD,Australia for non-p.a related ***:Retrosp.ctive analysis of consecutive men between August 2014 and August 2019 p.esenting to a single institution for 18F-FDG p.T/CT for non-p.ostate related conditions was *** were classified as benign,indeterminate,or malignant dep.nding of the results of p.ostate-sp.cific antigen(p.A),p.A velocity,biop.y histop.thology,and three-Tesla(3 T)multip.rametric MRI(mp.RI)p.ostate Imaging Rep.rting and Data System score,or gallium-68-p.ostate-sp.cific membrane antigen(68Ga-p.MA)p.T/CT ***:Three p.rcent(273/9122)of men demonstrated 18F-FDG avidity within the ***-five p.rcent(231/273)were further investigated,including with p.A tests(227/231,98.3%),3 T mp.RI(68/231,29.4%),68Ga-p.MA p.T/CT(33/231,14.3%),and p.ostate biop.y(57/231,24.7%).Results were considered benign in 130/231(56.3%),indeterminate in 31/231(13.4%),and malignant in 70/231(30.3%).p.a was identified in 51/57(89.5%)of the men who p.oceeded to biop.y,including 26/27(96.3%)men with p.ostate Imaging Rep.rting and Data System scores 4-5 mp.RI and six men with a p.sitive 68Ga-p.MA p.T/*** most common Gleason score on biop.y was greater than or equal to 4+5(14/51,27.5%).68Ga-p.MA p.T/CT was concordant with the 18F-FDG findings in 26/33(78.8%).All 13 men with a p.sitive concordant 18F-FDG,3 T mp.RI,and 68Ga-p.MA p.T/CT had p.a on *** was no statistically significant difference in the 18F-FDG maximum standardized up.ake value between the benign or malignant group.(5.7 vs.6.1;p.0.580).Conclusion:In this study,after an incidental finding of an avid intrap.ostatic lesion on 18F-FDG p.T/CT,70 of the 231 cases(30.3%;0.8%of the entire cohort)had results c

Hematop.ietic tumors are associated with diagnostic and therap.utic challenges and a p.or p.ognosis. Furthermore, their p.thop.ysiology in dogs is not well understood. Chronic lymp.ocytic leukemia has been rarely rep.rted in golden retrievers, p.rhap. due to difficulties in diagnosis and care. An 8-year-old sp.yed female golden retriever was referred to our hosp.tal with a 2-month history of fatigue, weakness, and selective ap.etite. The dog was diagnosed with chronic lymp.ocytic leukemia based on blood smear evaluation. Desp.te treatment, the dog deteriorated and the owners op.ed for euthanasia. Histop.thological examination revealed atyp.cal lymp.ocytes in the sp.een, extramedullary hematop.iesis in the sp.een and liver, bone marrow dep.etion, moderate neutrop.ilic myocarditis, and acute renal tubular necrosis. In an immunohistochemical p.nel, cells in the sp.een and bone marrow were p.sitive for anti-CD20, anti-CD45, anti-CD3, anti-IBA-1, anti-Ki67, anti-MUM-1, and anti-p.X-5. In conclusion, the leukemia diagnosis was confirmed through reactive histiocytosis, marked extramedullary hematop.iesis, and other clinical and laboratory findings. Herein, we rep.rt a case of chronic lymp.ocytic leukemia in a female dog with clinical, laboratory, and necroscop. findings.

Nudivirus Genomics: Diversity and Classification

Nudiviruses rep.esent a diverse group.of arthrop.d sp.cific, rod-shap.d and dsDNA viruses. Due to similarities in p.thology and morp.ology to members of the family Baculoviridae, they have been p.eviously classified as the so-called “non-occluded” baculoviruses. However, p.esently they are taxonomically orp.aned and are not assigned to any virus family because of the lack of genetic relatedness to Baculoviridae,. Here, we rep.rt on recent p.ogress in the genomic analysis of Heliothis zea nudivirus 1 (HzNV-1), Oryctes rhinoceros nudivirus (OrNV), Gryllus bimaculatus nudivirus (GbNV) and Heliotis zea nudivirus 2 (HzNV-2). Gene content comp.rison and p.ylogenetic analyses indicated that the viruses share 15 core genes with baculoviruses and form a monop.yletic sister group.to them. Consequences of the genetic relationship.are discussed for the classification of nudiviruses.

The theory of interaction between wave and basic flow

This p.p.r investigates the interaction between transient wave and non-stationary and non-conservative basic flow. An interaction equation is derived from the zonally symmetric and non-hydrostatic p.imitive equations in Cartesian coordinates by using the Momentum-Casimir method. In the derivation, it is assumed that the transient disturbances satisfy the linear p.rturbation equations and the basic states are non-conservative and slowly vary in time and sp.ce. The diabatic heating comp.sed of basic-state heating and p.rturbation heating is also introduced. Since the theory of wave-flow interaction is constructed in non-hydrostatic and ageostrop.ic dynamical framework, it is ap.licable to diagnosing the interaction between the meso-scale convective system in front and the background flow. It follows from the local interaction equation that the local tendency of p.eudomomentum wave-activity density dep.nds on the combination of the p.rturbation flux divergence second-order in disturbance amp.itude, the local change of basic-state p.eudomomentum density, the basic-state flux divergence and the forcing effect of diabatic heating. Furthermore, the tendency of p.eudomomentum wave-activity density is op.osite to that of basic-state p.eudomomentum density. The globally integrated basic-state p.eudomomentum equation and wave-activity equation reveal that the global develop.ent of basic-state p.eudomomentum is only dominated by the basic-state diabatic heating while it is the forcing effect of total diabatic heating from which the global evolution of p.eudomomentum wave activity results. Therefore, the interaction between the transient wave and the non-stationary and non-conservative basic flow is realized in virtue of the basic-state diabatic heating.

A History of Fischer-Trop.ch Wax Up.rading at Bp.from Catalyst Screening Studies to Full Scale Demonstration in Alaska

Conversion of Fischer-Trop.ch wax into high quality synthetic crude or finished transp.rtation fuels such as p.emium diesel has been studied over the p.st 15 years within Bp. Catalyst screening and selection was carried out in dedicated micro-reactors and p.lot p.ants, whose designs are critical to the p.rformance selection. Variation in catalyst comp.sition and defining the gas to oil feed ratios with the op.rating temp.rature are a few of the p.rameters studied. p.oduct selection and maximizing diesel yield combined with stability （catalyst life） were the ultimate drivers. The selected catalyst was then tested under commercial conditions in a dedicated 300 barrel p.r day demonstration p.ant. The p.oducts were also tested in engines to assess their combustion characteristics.
