Based on a com.ination of m.rphology and m.lecular data of ribosom.l DNA genes,a new diatom.genus Lineaperpetua ***,You,Kociolek&Wang is *** features that help define Lineaperpetua at the level of genus include:a tangentially undulated valve face;continuous cribra areolae on the valve interior consisting of pores arranged as strips;single rim.portula located inside the ring of m.rginal ***,phylogenetic analysis based on nuclear sm.ll subunit(SSU)rDNA sequences and nuclear large subunit(LSU)rDNA gene placed the three strains of *** in a single,m.nophyletic clade at a considerable sequence distance from.the other genera(Thalassiosira,Conticribra,Planktoniella,Shinodiscus,and other genera)belonging to *** the sim.larities with som. species of Thalassiosira,Conticribra,and Spicaticribra,the suite of features found in Lineaperpetua differentiate it from.these other *** m.lecular data and m.rphological characters suggest an affinity of the new genus to the Thalassiosiraceae.

Various investigations have been conducted to analyze the water-coverage area of the Aral Sea and the Aral Sea Basin(ASB). However, the investigations incorporated considerable uncertainty and the used water indices had m.sclassification problem. which m.de different research groups present different results. Thus we first ascertain the boundaries of the ASB, the Syr and Am. river basins as well as their upper, m.ddle and lower reaches. Then a four-band index for both liquid and solid water(ILSW) is proposed to address the m.sclassification problem. of the classic water indices. ILSW is calculated by using the reflectance values of the green, red, near infrared, and therm.l infrared bands, which com.ines the norm.lized difference water index(NDWI) and land surface tem.erature(LST) together. Validation results show that the ILSW water index has the highest accuracy by far in the Aral Sea Basin. Our results indicate that annual average decline of the water-coverage area was 963 km.(2) in the southern Aral Sea, whereas the northern Aral Sea has experienced little change. In the m.anwhile, perm.nent ice and snow in upper reach of ASB has retreated considerably. Annual retreating rates of the perm.nent ice and snow were respectively 6233and 3841 km.(2) in upper reaches of Am. river basin(UARB) and Syr river basin(USRB). One of m.jor reasons is that clim.te has becom. warm.r in ASB. The clim.te change has caused serious water deficit problem. The water deficit had an increasing trend since the 1990s and its increasing rates was 3.778 billion m.(3) yearly on average. The total water deficit was 76.967 billion m.(3) on average in the whole area of ASB in the 2010s. However, up reaches of Syr river basin(USRB), a com.onent area of ASB, had water surplus of 25.461 billion m.(3). These conclusions are useful for setting out a sustainable developm.nt strategy in ASB.

BACKGROUND With an ongoing dem.nd for transplantable organs,optim.zation of donor m.nagem.nt protocols,specifically in traum. populations,is im.ortant for obta-ining a high yield of viable organs per *** m.nagem.nt of brain-dead potential organ donors(BPODs)is controversial,leading to heterogeneous clinical m.nagem.nt *** studies have shown that when levo-thyroxine was com.ined with other treatm.nts,including steroids,vasopressin,and insulin,BPODs had better organ recovery and survival outcom.s were increased for transplant *** To determ.ne if levothyroxine use in com.ination with steroids in BPODs increased the num.er of organs donated in traum. *** A retrospective review of adult BPODs from.a single level 1 traum. center over ten years was *** criteria included patients who were not solid organ donors,patients who were not declared brain dead(donation after circulatory death),and patients who did not receive steroids in their hospital *** and steroid adm.nistration,the num.er of organs donated,the types of organs donated,and dem.graphic inform.tion were *** analyses were perform.d with Pm.t inclusion criteria,69(78%)of whom.received levothyroxine and steroids(ST/LT group)vs 19(22%)receiving steroids without levothyroxine(ST group).No differences were observed between the groups for gender,race,pertinent injury factors,age,or other horm.ne therapies used(P>0.05).In the ST/LT group,68.1%(n=47)donated a high yield(3-5)of organ types per donor com.ared to 42.1%(n=8)in the ST group(P=0.038).There was no difference in the total num.er of organ types donated between the groups(P=0.068).CONCLUSION This study suggests that com.ining levothyroxine and steroid adm.nistration increases high-yield organ donation per donor in BPODs in the traum. patient *** to this study include
