Background:Newly diagnosed breast cancer patients experience symptoms that may affect their quality of life,treatment outc.mes,and *** and managing breast cancer-related symptoms soon after diagnosis is *** purpose of this study was to investigate the associations between health-related fitness(HRF)and patient-reported symptoms in newly diagnosed breast cancer ***:This study utilized baseline data from the Alberta moving Beyond Breast cancer cohort Study that were collected within 90 days of *** measures included peak cardiopulmonary fitness(peak volume of oxygen consumption(VO_(2peak))),maximal muscular strength and endurance,flexibility,and body *** measures included depression,sleep quality,and *** multivariable logistic regression was performed for ***:Of 1458 participants,51.5%reported poor sleep quality,26.5%reported significant fatigue,and 10.4%reported moderate *** multivariable-adjusted models,lower relative VO_(2peak)was independently associated with a greater likelihood of all symptom measures,including moderate depression(pcant fatigue(p=0.008),any symptom(pmultiple symptoms(pmonstrated threshold associations with all symptom measures such that all 3 lower quartiles exhibited similar elevated risk c.mpared to the highest *** strength of the threshold associations varied by the symptom measure with odds ratios ranging from-1.5 for poor sleep quality to-3.0 for moderate depression and multiple ***,lower relative upper body muscular endurance was also independently associated with fatigue in a dose-response manner(p=0.001),and higher body weight was independently associated with poor sleep quality in an inverted U pattern(p=0.021).conclusion:Relative VO_(2peak)appears to be a critical HRF c.mponent associated with multiple patient-reported symptoms in newly diag

Biomimetic.materials have emerged as attractive and c.mpetitive alternatives for tissue engineering(TE)and regenerative *** contrast to conventional biomaterials or synthetic.materials,biomimetic scaffolds based on natural biomaterial can offer cells a broad spectrum of biochemical and biophysical cues that mimic the in vivo extracellular matrix(Ecm).Additionally,such materials have mechanical adaptability,micro-structure interconnectivity,and inherent bioactivity,making them ideal for the design of living implants for specific applications in TE and regenerative *** paper provides an overview for recent progress of biomimetic natural biomaterials(BNBms),including advances in their preparation,functionality,potential applications and future *** highlight recent advances in the fabrication of BNBms and outline general strategies for functionalizing and tailoring the BNBms with various biological and physicochemical characteristics of native ***,we offer an overview of recent key advances in the functionalization and applications of versatile BNBms for TE ***,we conclude by offering our perspective on open challenges and future developments in this rapidly-evolving field.

Effect of chemical c.mposition on zircon radiation damage dating:Implications for low-temperature thermochronology

Zircon radiation damage dating is a low-temperature thermochronological method that can reveal the cooling histories of magmatic intrusions and discriminate sedimentary provenance in c.mbination with other dating *** method has broad application prospects because of its advantages of nondestructive,high efficiency,and capable of double(or multiple)dating,involving only multiple measurements by Raman spectrometer and laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma-mass ***,several factors,such as zircon chemical c.mposition and the non-uniformity of radiation damage annealing kinetics,can cause poor precision when using this method and thus restricts its wide *** study examined the effect of chemical c.mposition(P,Ti,Dy,Th,U,and Hf)on Raman spectra using synthetic zircon crystals grown in a lithium-molybdate *** results show that the full width at half-maximum(FWHm)of the v_(3)(SiO_(4))band has positive linear correlations with the concentrations of P,Ti,Dy,Th,and U in decreasing order of influence,while the FWHm is unaffected by Hf at concentrationscreases at concentrations>10 wt.%.Furthermore,the Raman shift is negatively correlated with Th,U,and Dy concentrations,positively correlated with Hf,and shows no obvious correlation with Ti and ***,our study shows that chemical c.mposition is a non-ignorable factor for calculating zircon radiation damage age using Raman spectroscopy,especially for zircon with relatively high concentrations of P,rare earth elements(REEs),Th,U,and *** obtained multiple linear regression equation provides a potential means for estimating the FWHm at zero dose and implication for improving the dating precision of this *** addition,the observed effects of REEs,Th,U,and Hf on the Raman shift of the v_(3)(SiO_(4))band indicate that chemical c.mposition in zircon might affect the estimation of the P-T conditions of geological processes when using entrapped zircon inclusions in host mi

Fuzzy modeling of Surficial Uranium Prospectivity in British columbia(canada)with a Weighted Fuzzy Algebraic Sum Operator

This paper demonstrates knowledge-guided fuzzy logic.modeling of regional-scale surficial uranium(U)prospectivity in British columbia(canada).The deposits/occurrences of surficial U in this region vary from those in Western Australia and Namibia;thus,requiring innovative and carefully-thought techniques of spatial evidence generation and *** novelty,this papers introduces a new weighted fuzzy algebraic sum operator to c.mbine certain spatial evidence *** analysis trialed several layers of spatial evidence based on conceptual mineral system model of surficial U in British columbia(canada)as well as tested various models of evidence ***-linear weighted functions of(a)spatial closeness to U-enriched felsic igneous rocks was employed as U-source spatial evidence,(b)spatial closeness to paleochannels as fluid pathways spatial evidence,and(c)surface water U content as chemical trap spatial *** best models of prospectivity created by integrating the layers of spatial evidence for U-source,pathways and traps predicted at least 85%of the known surficial U deposits/occurrences in>10%of the study region with the highest prospectivity fuzzy *** results of analyses demonstrate that,employing the known deposits/occurrences of surficial U for scrutinizing the spatial evidence layers and the final models of prospectivity can pinpoint the most suitable critical processes and models of data integration to reduce bias in the analysis of mineral prospectivity.

Soil erosion prediction technology began over 70 years ago when Austin Zingg published a relationship between soil erosion(by water)and land slope and length,followed shortly by a relationship by Dwight Smith that expanded this equation to include conservation ***,it was nearly 20 years before this work's expansion resulted in the Universal Soil Loss Equation(USLE),perhaps the foremost achievement in soil erosion prediction in the last *** USLE has increased in application and c.mplexity,and its usefulness and limitations have led to the development of additional technologies and new science in soil erosion research and *** among these new technologies is the Water Erosion Prediction Project(WEPP)model,which has helped to overc.me many of the shortc.mings of the USLE,and increased the scale over which erosion by water can be *** of application of erosion prediction include almost all land types:urban,rural,cropland,forests,rangeland,and construction *** applications of WEPP include prediction of radioactive material movement with soils at a superfund cleanup site,and near real-time daily estimation of soil erosion for the entire state of Iowa.

metabolomic Profiling in Selaginella lepidophylla at Various Hydration States Provides New Insights into the mechanistic Basis of Desiccation Tolerance

Selaginella lepidophylla is one of only a few species of spike mosses （Selaginellaceae） that have evolved des-iccation tolerance （DT） or the ability to ＇resurrect＇ from an air-dried state. In order to understand the metabolic basis of DT, S, lepidophylla was subjected to a five-stage, rehydration/dehydration cycle, then analyzed using non-biased, global metabolomics profiling technology based on Gc.mS and UHLc.mS/mS2 platforms. A total of 251 metabolites including 167 named （66.5%） and 84 （33.4%） unnamed c.mpounds were characterized. Only 42 （16.7%） and 74 （29.5%） of c.mpounds showed significantly increased or decreased abundance, respectively, indicating that most c.mpounds were produced con-stitutively, including highly abundant trehalose, sucrose, and glucose. Several glycolysis/gluconeogenesis and tricarboxylic acid （TcA） cycle intermediates showed increased abundance at 100% relative water content （RWc） and 50% RWc. Vanillate, a potent antioxidant, was also more abundant in the hydrated state. many different sugar alcohols and sugar acids were more abundant in the hydrated state. These polyols likely decelerate the rate of water loss during the drying process as well as slow water absorption during rehydration, stabilize proteins, and scavenge reactive oxygen species （ROS）. In contrast, nitrogen-rich and y-glutamyl amino acids, citrulline, and nucleotide catabolism products （e.g. allantoin） were more abundant in the dry states, suggesting that these c.mpounds might play important roles in nitrogen remobilization during rehydration or in ROS scavenging. UV-protective c.mpounds such as 3-（3-hydroxyphenyl）propionate, apigenin, and naringenin, were more abundant in the dry states. most lipids were produced constitutively, with the exception of choline phosphate, which was more abundant in dry states and likely plays a role in membrane hydration and stabilization. 虽然已有许多水指数被运用于咸海和咸海流域的水域面积分析,然而已有研究尚存在很大的不确定性.由于所使用水指数存在水体误识别的问题,导致不同研究得出的结论差异很大.此外,各种研究采用的咸海流域面积也差异很大,流域面积从约1百万km^(2)到2百万km^(2)不等.因此,我们首先界定咸海流域、锡尔河和阿姆河流域以及它们的上、中、下游的边界,然后提出可识别液态水和固态水的四波段指数(ILSW),以解决传统水指数的误别偏差问题.ILSW基于绿色、红色、近红外和热红外波段反射值,是归一化差异水指数(NDWI)和地表温度(LST)的合成.验证结果显示,ILSW水指数在咸海流域的准确性远远超过其他指数.研究结果表明,南咸海的水域面积平均每年缩小963km^(2),而北咸海几乎没有变化;由于气候变暖,咸海流域上游常年冰雪面积有大幅度退缩趋势,阿姆河上游和锡尔河上游常年冰雪的退缩速率分别为年均6233和384km^(2)/a.气候变化和人类活动引起了严重的水亏问题.自20世纪90年代以来,水亏呈增长趋势,平均每年增长3.778亿m^(3).2011~2020年期间,整个咸海流域平均总水亏量为76.967亿m^(3),而锡尔河流域上游(咸海流域的一个组成部分)水盈余量为25.461亿m^(3).研究结果对制定咸海流域可持续发展战略具有重要意义.

An electrochemical process that uses an Fe^0/TiO2 cathode to degrade typical dyes and antibiotics and a bio-anode that produces electricity

In this study a new water treatment system that couples （photo-） electrochemical catalysis （PEc or Ec） in a microbial fuel cell （mFc） was configured using a stainless-steel （SS） cathode coated w th Fe / TiO2. We examined the destruction of methylene blue （mB） and tetracycline. Fe^0/TiO2 was prepared using a chemical reduction-deposition method and coated onto an SS wire mesh （500 mesh） using a sol technique. The anode generates electricity using microbes （bio-anode）. connected via wire and ohmic resistance, the system requires a short reaction time and operates at a low cost by effectively remowng 94% mB （initial concentration 20 mg·L^-1） and 83% TOc/TOco under visible light illumination （50 W; 1.99 mW·cm^-2 for 120 rain, mFc-PEc）. The removal was similar even without light irradiation （mFc-Ec）. The EEo of the mFc-PEc system was approximately 0.675 kWh·m^-3. order-l whereas that of the mFc-Ec system was zero. The system was able to remove 70% cOD in tetracycline solution （initial tetracycline concentration 100 mg·L^-1） after 120 min of visible light illumination; without light, the removal was 15% lower. The destruction of mB and tetracycline in both traditional photocatalysis and photoelectrocatalysis systems was notably low. The electron spinresonance spectroscopy （ESR） study demonstrated that. OH was formed under visible light, and. 02 was formed without light. The bio-electricity-activated O2 and ROS （reactive oxidizing species） generation by Fe^0/TiO2 effectively degraded the pollutants. This cathodic degradation improved the electricity generation by accepting and consuming more electrons from the bio-anode.

Estimation of solids circulation rate and char transfer rate from gasifier to c.mbustor in a dual fluidized-bed pilot plant for biomass steam gasification

Operation of a dual fluidized bed, consisting of a riser as c.mbustor and bubbling bed as gasifier, for synthesis gas production from a solid fuel requires determination of the solids circulation rate and char transfer rate. The performance relies on supplying sufficient heat from the c.mbustor to the gasifier by circulation of solids between these two reactors. The flow rate of char is required to track the heat generated in the c.mbustor, which supports endothermic reactions in the gasifier. Direct measurement of these two critical parameters is difficult, with the number of reported techniques capable of working at high temperatures extremely small. An indirect method was developed, using mass and energy balances over the entire system and individual reactors, to estimate the solids circulation rate and char transfer rate. There was general agreement between heat losses estimated from energy-balance calculations and from direct measurement of the outer reactor surface temperature. Under typical gasification conditions, the solids circulation fluxes were estimated to be 45.2 and 55.6 kg/(m^2 s) in two independent tests, which were in good agreement with values obtained using a thermal tracer;char transfer rates were calculated to be 1.2 and 0.6 kg/h, which were in reasonable agreement with average biomass feed rates. This method can be applied to dual gasification systems at any temperature or flow rate.
