In recent times, renewable energy pro.uctio. fro. renewable energy so.rces is an alternative way to.fulfill the increased energy demands. Ho.ever, the increasing energy demand rate places mo.e pressure, leading to.the terminatio. o. co.ventio.al energy reso.rces. Ho.ever, the co.t o. po.er generatio. fro. co.l-fired plants is higher than the po.er generatio.’s price fro. renewable energy so.rces. This experiment is fo.used o. co.t o.timizatio. during po.er generatio. thro.gh pumped sto.age po.er plant and wind po.er plant. The entire mo.eling o. co.t o.timizatio. has been co.ducted in two.parts. The mathematical mo.eling was do.e using MATLAB simulatio. while the hydro.and wind po.er plant’s emulatio. was perfo.med using SCADA (Superviso.y co.tro. and data acquisitio.) designer implementatio.. The experiment was co.ducted using ranges o. generated po.er fro. bo.h po.er so.rces. The o.timum co.binatio. o. o.tput po.er and co.t fro. bo.h generato.s is determined via MATLAB simulatio. within the assumed generated o.tput po.er range. Seco.dly, the hydro.generato. and wind generato.’s emulatio. were executed individually thro.gh synchro.izing the grid to.determine each generato.’s specificatio. using SCADA designer, which pro.ided the o.timum po.er generatio. fro. bo.h generato.s with the specific speed, aligning with results generated thro.gh MATLAB. Finally, the o.eratio.al po.er co.t (with no.lo.ses co.sideratio.) fro. MATLAB was co.pared with the lo.al energy pro.ider to.determine the co.t-efficiency. This experiment has pro.ided the o.eratio.al co.t o.timizatio. o. the hydro.wind co.bined po.er system with stable wind po.er generatio. using SCADA, which will ultimately assist in o.eratio.s o. large-scale po.er systems, remo.ely minimizing multi-area dynamic issues while maximizing the system efficiency.

Backgro.nd: Inadequate antenatal care, bo.h in co.erage and standard, has been linked with po.r pregnancy o.tco.es. In a reso.rce po.r setting, ho.e delivery is co.sidered very cheap, but the po.sible o.tco.e o. such pregnancies has been a subject o. interest. This study evaluated the asso.iatio. o. bo.king status with pregnancy o.tco.es. o.jectives: To.examine the facto.s that influence bo.king and impact o. the bo.king status o. pregnancy o.tco.es. Metho.s: This was a ho.pital-based pro.pective co.o.t study o. 240 (120 bo.ked and 120 un-bo.ked) pregnant mo.hers selected thro.gh systematic rando. sampling. The study was carried o.t at the Department o. o.stetrics and Gynaeco.o.y, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Ho.pital Abakaliki, Nigeria. Chi-square test, t-test and lo.istic regressio. were used fo. analysis. Results: The mean age o. the participants was 30.39 ± 5.05 years and 29.05 ± 6.36 years respectively fo. the bo.ked and unbo.ked. Marital status (o. = 6.35, 95% CI = 1.24 - 32.59), educatio.al status (o. = 36.40, 95% CI = 5.26-152.83), place o. residence (o. = 0.15, 95% CI = 0.06 - 0.41), partner’s suppo.t (o. = 0.05, 95% CI = 0.01 - 0.37), family suppo.t (o. = 0.03, 95% CI = 0.01 - 0.13), mo.e o. delivery (o. = 0.23, 95% CI = 0.12 - 0.46), APGAR sco.e in first minute (o. = 6.02, 95% CI = 2.45 - 14.83) and NBICU admissio. (o. = 3.75, 95% CI = 1.67 - 8.43) were asso.iated with bo.ked status. Ho.ever, being unmarried, nulliparity/grandmultiparity, lo. level o. educatio., blue co.ar jo.s, lo. inco.e, rural dwelling and po.r partner and po.r family suppo.t were asso.iated with the unbo.ked. The bo.ked parturients had a better perinatal o.tco.e co.pared the unbo.ked. Respo.se surface metho.o.o.y (RSM) using the central co.po.ite design (CCD) was applied to.examine the impact o. so.a-anthraquino.e pulping co.ditio.s o. Grevillea ro.usta fall leaves. The pulping facto.s studied were: Nao. charge 5% to.20% w/v, pulping time 30 to.180 minutes, and the anthraquino.e charge 0.1 to.0.5% w/w based o. the o.en-dried leaves. The respo.ses evaluated were the pulp yield, cellulo.e co.tent, and the degree o. delignificatio.. Vario.s regressio. mo.els were used to.evaluate the effects o. varying the pulping co.ditio.s. The o.timum co.ditio.s attained were;Nao. charge o. 14.63%, 0.1% anthraquino.e, and a pulping perio. o. 154 minutes, co.respo.ding to.20.68% pulp yield, 80.56% cellulo.e co.tent, and 70.34% lignin remo.al. Analysis o. variance (ANo.A), was used to.determine the mo.t impo.tant variables that impro.e the extractio. pro.ess o. cellulo.e. The experiment o.tco.es matched tho.e predicted by the mo.el (Predicted R2 = 0.9980, Adjusted R2 = 0.9994), demo.strating the adequacy o. the mo.el used. FTIR analysis co.firmed the eliminatio. o. the no.-cellulo.ic fiber co.stituents. The lignin and hemicellulo.e-related bands (aro.nd 1514 cm−1, 1604 cm−1, 1239 cm−1, and 1734 cm−1) decreased with chemical treatment, indicating effective cellulo.e extractio. by the so.a-anthraquino.e metho.. Similar results were o.tained by XRD, SEM and thermo.ravimetric analysis o. the extracted cellulo.e. A machine learning mo.el, using the transfo.mer architecture, is used to.design a feedback co.pensato. and prefilter fo. vario.s simulated plants. The o.tput o. the transfo.mer is a sequence o. co.pensato. and prefilter parameters. The co.pensato. and prefilter are linear mo.els, preserving the ability to.analyze the system with linear co.tro. theo.y. The input to.the netwo.k is a windo. o. recent reference and o.tput samples. The go.l o. the transfo.mer is to.minimize tracking erro. at each time step. The plants under co.sideratio. range fro. simple to.challenging. The mo.e difficult plants co.tain clo.ely spaced, lightly damped, co.plex co.jugate pairs o. po.es and zero.. Results are co.pared to.PID co.tro.lers tuned fo. a similar cro.so.er frequency and o.timal phase margin. Fo. simple plants, the transfo.mer co.verges to.so.utio.s which o.erly rely o. the prefilter, neglecting the maximizatio. o. negative feedback. Fo. mo.e co.plex plants, the transfo.mer designs a co.pensato. and prefilter with mo.e desirable qualities. In all cases, the transfo.mer can start with rando. mo.el parameters and mo.ify them to.minimize tracking erro. o. the step reference.

Metho.: This was a questio.naire based cro.s sectio.al descriptive study amo.g wo.en who.attended the o.stetric Department o. Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Ho.pital Abakaliki Ebo.yi State, between 1st July and 31st No., 2023. The study po.ulatio. co.sisted o. parturients who.had episio.o.ies in their previo.s co.finements, attending either the antenatal clinic o. the po.tnatal clinic at Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Ho.pital Abakaliki Ebo.yi State. Results: Macro.o.ia was the mo.t co.mo. indicatio. o. episio.o.y at a rate o. 31.6%. The majo.ity o. episio.o.ies were perfo.med o. the parturients in their first co.finement at a rate o. 64.5% and the majo.ity o. repairs were perfo.med by the Registrar at a rate o. 65.0%. Info.med co.sent was o.tained fro. 45.79% o. parturients while 54.21% were no. info.med befo.e the episio.o.y was administered. o.ly 55.3% o. the parturient received analgesia befo.e episio.o.y was administered. The majo.ity o. the parturients had their episio.o.y repaired between 10 - 15 minutes at a rate o. 40.3%. Mpo. disease is caused by a do.ble-stranded DNA virus, genus o.tho.o.virus o. the family Po.viridae. The incubatio. perio. is usually 6 to.13 days but can range fro. 5 to.21 days while sympto.s and signs may persist fo. 2 to.5 weeks. Altho.gh, the clinical features are usually less severe when co.pared to.the deadly smallpo., the disease can be fatal with case fatality rate between 1% and 10%. In Imo.State, Nigeria, there has been a changing epidemio.o.y o. the disease in the last 6 years and the frequency and geo.raphic distributio. o. cases have pro.ressively increased. This study aims to.co.duct a review o. the disease epidemio.o.y between 2017 and 2023 and implicatio.s fo. surveillance in Imo.State. Surveillance data fro. the Surveillance o.tbreak Respo.se and Management System (So.MAS) was extracted between January 2017 and December 2023 acro.s the 27 Lo.al Go.ernment Areas (LGAs) o. Imo.State. A line list o. 231 suspected cases was do.nlo.ded into.an excel template and analyzed using SPSS® versio. 20 so.tware. Analysis was do.e using descriptive statistics and asso.iatio.s were tested using Fischer’s exact at 0.05 level o. significance. o. the 231 suspected cases, 57.1% (132) were males, 42.9% (99) were females and the mo.al age gro.p was between the ages o. 0 - 4 (32.5%). Eight (8) LGAs (districts) acco.nted fo. 71% (n = 164) o. all the suspected cases. 21.2% (49) were co.firmed po.itive, 27 males (55.1%) and 22 females (44.9%) (p > 0.05). Mo.al age gro.p was 20 - 24 (22.4%, n = 11), 18% (9) were children under 14 years, p > 0.05. Case fatality rate was 8% (n = 4). There was no.significant asso.iatio. between mo.tality and age gro.p. Five (5) LGAs acco.nted fo. abo.t 60% (29) o. all co.firmed cases. These LGAs co.tribute o.ly 20% to.the to.al po.ulatio. in the State. o.ly 5.6% and 4% o. suspected and co.firmed cases, respectively, had kno.ledge o. co.tact with an infectio.s so.rce.
