Almost all causative factors of diseases depend on *** Digital Earth approach is suitable for studying diseases *** information systems integrated with statistical models can be used to model the relationship between a disease and its causative *** modelling,the most important causative factors can be extracted and the epidemiology of the disease can be *** this paper,skin cancer(the most common type of cancer)has been modelled based on its causative factors,including climate factors,people’s occupations,nutrition habits,socio-economic factors,and usage of chemical *** fit the model,a data framework was first designed,and then data were gathered and ***,the disease was modelled using Generalised linear Models(GlM),a statistical model based on the location of the *** results of this study identify the most important causative factors together with their relative ***,a model was used to predict the change in skin cancer occurrences caused by a change in one of its causative *** work illustrates the ability of the model to predict disease ***,by using this Digital Earth approach,skincancer can be studied in all the key countries around the world.

Remote sensing image fusion has come a long way from research experiments to an operational image processing *** established a framework for image fusion at the end of the 90s,we now provide an overview on the advances in image fusion during the past 15 *** information about new remote sensing image fusion techniques,recent technical developments and their influence on image fusion,international societies and working groups,and new journals and publications,we provide insight into new *** becomes clear that image fusion facilitates remote sensing image *** aims at achieving better and more reliable information to better understand complex Earth *** numerous publications during the last decade show that remote sensing image fusion is a well-established research *** experiences gained foster other technological developments in terms of sensor configuration and data ***-modal data usage enables the implementation of the concept of Digital *** order to advance in this respect,we recommend that updated guidelines and a set of commonly accepted quality assessment criteria are needed in image fusion.

The electrokinetic(EK)process has been proposed for soil decontamination from heavy metals and organic *** advantages of the EK process include the low operating energy,suitability for fine-grained soil decontamination,and no need for *** the last three decades,enhanced and hybrid EK systems were developed and tested for improving the efficiency of contaminants removal from *** enhanced-EK processes exhibited excellent efficiency in removing contaminants by controlling the soil pH or the chemical reaction of *** hybrid systems were tested to overcome environmental hurdles or technical drawbacks of decontamination *** of the EK process with phytoremediation,bioremediation,or reactive filtermedia(RFM)improved the remediation process performance by capturing contaminants or facilitating biological agents’movement in the ***,EK process coupling with solar energy was proposed to treat off-grid contaminated soils or reduce the EK energy *** study reviews recent advancements in the enhancement and hybrid EK systems for soil remediation and the type of contaminants targeted by the *** study also covered the impact of operating parameters,imperfect pollution separation,and differences in the physicochemical characteristics and microstructure of soil/sediment on the EK ***,a comparison between various remediation processes was presented to highlight the pros and cons of these technologies.

This paper introduces an improved convolutional neural network based on the conventional U-Net for simulating built-up land *** proposed method hires a pixel-wise semantic segmentation approach considering the spatial drivers affecting urbanization as data *** variables including altitude,slope,and distance from barren,crop,greenery,roads,and urban areas for 1998,2008,and 2018 were considered as covariates for the simulation of built-up land expansion in Tehran and Karaj regions in *** proposed method was compared with the random forest(RF)algorithm as the baseline *** using the area under the total operating characteristic indicated the superiority of our modified U-Net(0.87)over the RF(0.82)***,evaluation using the percent correct metric indicated that our proposed model is capable of learning neighborhood effects effectively leading to simulate built-up land expansion accurately,independent from applying a cellular automata(CA)***,the modified U-Net independent from the CA which can consider the neighborhood effects is recommended for the simulation of built-up land expansion precisely.

The Digital Earth concept as originally proposed by former US Vice president Al Gore is now well established and widely adopted ***,many researchers world-wide are studying the causes,effects and impacts of Global *** authors commence by describing a five-step approach to the development of Digital Earth *** is followed by a detailed account of Digital Earth research and developments in *** authors then present the research results of Global Change studies carried out in China,based on the Digital Earth *** research results are based on a classification of global change *** covers the following global change situations:Forest and grassland fires in Northern China,temperate region desertification and dust storms,underground coal fires,deforestation and carbon sequestration,protection and utilisation of wetlands,Avian Influenza and the spread of diseases,Tibet Plateau uplift and sub-tropical monsoon climate region,and sea-level *** research results show that the environment does not behave in a way easily understood by the traditional disciplinary *** man is clearly a contributing factor to certain Global Change aspects,such as underground coal fires,desertification,land use changes etc.,many of the aspects of Global Change are naturally occurring phenomena which have been changing over centuries,and will continue to do so,no matter what actions we undertake to reverse these ***,in their conclusions,the authors propose that the communities involved in Digital Earth modelling and in Global Change research co-operate closer to overcome the limitations inherent in the current‘conventional’scientific approach,where scientists have very much stayed within their respective scientific *** an integrated approach will enable us to build the next level of scientific infrastructure required to understand and predict naturally occurring environmental changes,as well as
