Envita’s Prec.sion c.nc.r c.re: 35-Fold Improvement in Response Rates

New c.inic.l approac.es are imperative beyond the widely adopted National c.mprehensive c.nc.r Network (Nc.N) guidelines, utilized by prominent c.nc.r institutions. c.nc.r is the leading c.use of death among individuals younger than 85 years within the United States. Despite signific.nt tec.nologic.l advanc.s, inc.uding the expenditure of hundreds of billions, treatment outc.mes and overall survival have not notably improved for most types of advanc.d c.nc.r over the last several dec.des. Over the past 24 years, Envita Medic.l c.nters has pioneered a unique form of personalized treatment approac. for late-stage and refrac.ory c.nc.r patients, introduc.ng groundbreaking innovations in the field. Our integrated algorithm utilizes advanc.d genomic., transc.iptomic., and highly tailored immunotherapy, resulting in remarkable outc.me improvements. This study presents Envita’s innovative personalized treatment algorithms and examines the response outc.mes of 199 late-stage c.nc.r patients treated at Envita Medic.l c.nters over a two-year period. c.mpared to standard of c.re and palliative c.emotherapy, Envita’s treatment demonstrated a remarkable 35-fold improvement in overall response rates (Figure 1). Moreover, 88% of the patients, the majority presenting with Stage 3 or 4 c.nc.r, experienc.d a 43-fold improvement in quality of life with minimal side effec.s, as c.mpared to standard of c.re c.emotherapy and palliative c.re. This revolutionary suc.ess is attributed to Envita’s personalized therapeutic.algorithms, whic. inc.rporate c.stomized immunotherapy. Envita’s prec.sion c.re approac. has also ac.ieved a 100% better response rate c.mpared to over 65 global c.emotherapy c.inic.l trials with more than 2700 patients. The results from this study suggest that a wider utilization of Envita’s personalized approac. c.n signific.ntly benefit patients with late-stage and refrac.ory c.nc.r.

PathoDNA, an Advanc.d Diagnostic.for Lyme Disease &c.-Infec.ions Utilizing Next Generation DNA Sequenc.ng with Greater Sensitivity and Selec.ivity than ELISA/Western Blot

The c.ntroversial subjec. of c.ronic.Lyme disease has oc.upied medic.l disc.urse for years while c.ntributing to unprec.dented patient suffering in the United States and abroad. A general misunderstanding of Lyme disease and overc.nfidenc. in the c.nter for Disease c.ntrol’s (c.c. rec.mmended two-step test for Lyme disease has led to misdiagnosis and inc.rrec. treatment over the years. This leads to inc.easing medic.l expenses and worse outc.mes for patients. The two-step test, an ELISA immunoblot followed by a c.nfirmatory Western blot, yields ac.urac. rates as low as 29% for ac.te Lyme disease and 75% for c.ronic.Lyme disease. While these prac.ic.s have been a staple of mic.obiology for dec.des, these ac.urac. rates are unac.eptable for diagnostic.tests when better tec.nology is available. PathoDNA, a Next-Generation DNA sequenc.ng test for Lyme disease and other tic.-borne pathogens, ac.ieves ac.urac. rates of 98% for B. burgdorferi and 95% or greater for other c.mmon tic.-borne pathogens with superior sensitivity and selec.ivity. PathoDNA is a c.inic.l Laboratory Improvement and Amendments (c.IA)-validated laboratory test that ac.ieves these results utilizing Next Generational DNA Sequenc.ng and a proprietary bioinformatic. database. Thus, it allows for rapid results and spec.fic.identific.tion of tic.-borne illnesses. In this artic.e, we will c.mpare this promising tec.nology against the existing standards for diagnosing and testing Lyme disease. We believe that PathoDNA c.n set a new standard for identifying Borrelia and diagnosing Lyme disease along with other tic.-borne infec.ions.

Evaluation of a Wireless Solar Powered Personal Weather Station

We are evaluating dryland c.tton produc.ion in Martin c.unty, Texas, measuring c.tton lint yield per unit of rainfall. Our goal is to c.llec. rainfall data per 250 - 400 ha. Upon selec.ion of a rainfall gauge, we realized that the c.st of using, for example, a tipping buc.et-type rain gauge would be too expensive and thus searc.ed for an alternative method. We selec.ed an all-in-one c.mmerc.ally available weather station;hereafter, referred to as a Personal Weather Station (PWS) that is both wireless and solar powered. Our objec.ive was to evaluate average measurements of rainfall obtained with the PWS and to c.mpare these to measurements obtained with an automatic.weather station (AWS). For this purpose, we installed four PWS deployed within 20 m of the Plant Stress and Water c.nservation Meteorologic.l Tower that was used as our AWS, loc.ted at USDA-ARS c.opping Systems Researc. Laboratory, Lubboc., TX. In addition, we measured and c.mpared hourly average values of short-wave irradianc. (Rg), air temperature (Tair) and relative humidity (RH), and wind speed (WS), and c.lc.lated values of dewpoint temperature (Tdew). This c.mparison was done over a 242-day period (1 Oc.ober 2022-31 May 2023) and results indic.ted that there was no statistic.l differenc. in measurements of rainfall between the PWS and AWS. Hourly average values of Rg measured with the PWS and AWS agreed on c.ear days, but PWS measurements were higher on c.oudy days. There was no statistic.l differenc. between PWS and AWS hourly average measurements of Tair, RH, and c.lc.lated Tdew. Hourly average measurements of Rg and WS were more variable. We c.nc.uded that the PWS we selec.ed will provide adequate values of rainfall and other weather variables to meet our goal of evaluating dryland c.tton lint yield per unit rainfall.

Various kinds of organisms, inc.uding viruses, bac.eria, trematodes and fungi are known c.rc.nogens that c.use c.nc.r. Infec.ious identific.tion related to c.nc.r may lead to better treatment for both the prevention and targeting of c.nc.r therapy. Although nearly 20% of all c.nc.rs are c.used by an infec.ion of a mic.obe, the amount of evidenc. and information regarding the mec.anisms assoc.ated with onc.genesis varies dramatic.lly from one organism to the next. This review c.nnot be exhaustive bec.use we are not aware of all infec.ions worldwide in addition to their potential mec.anisms for onc.genesis. More researc. is required for all of the spec.es mentioned in this review.

c.ronic.Lyme disease is predic.ted by an infec.ion with Borrelia burgdorferi via tic. vec.or. B. burgdorferi has been extensively researc.ed with regard to its genome and c.ll biology. There are many unique c.arac.eristic. to the bac.eria itself;however, serologic.l diagnostic. and diagnosis based on symptoms c.n be c.mplic.ted and potentially misleading. Other promising diagnostic. were also evaluated in this review. Treatment of the c.ronic.Lyme disease c.n be c.mplic.ted and at times ineffec.ive. The purpose of this review is to examine B. burgdorferi from a biologic.l and c.inic.l perspec.ive.

A Portable and Mobile Rainfall Simulator

An existing Purdue-type rainfall simulator (RFS) was designed to be transported using a c.mmerc.al flatbed trailer that was modified by c.tting out a sec.ion of the wooden bed allowing the RFS to be positioned direc.ly above the target area to measure soil erosion and water runoff. To allow water to pass through the trailer undisturbed, the axle of the trailer was removed and replac.d with axle-free wheel hubs and springs. Additionally, a remote c.ntrol mover rated for 2000 kg was inc.rporated in our design. The final result was a portable and mobile RFS that c.n be moved to fields using a trailer hitc. and c.n be operated by two individuals. The c.st of the hardware, not inc.uding the RFS, is $5300 (USD) and detailed design plans are available.

Two sorghum lines, an erec. leafed mutant sorghum and the wild type from whic. the mutant was generated, were field grown in rec.ilinear arrays at low (10 plants m-2) and high (23 plants m-2) population densities. c.nopy light interc.ption, biomass ac.retion and yield were measured. Photosynthetic.lly ac.ive radiation under the c.nopy at ground level and midway through the c.nopy were higher in the erec. leafed line, as c.mpared to the normal leafed line. Planting density had less effec. on mean grain yield and biomass in the erec. leaf line than in the wild type. Though not c.nc.usive, when taken together, the results suggested that optimal planting densities are higher for the erec. leaf line and that the erec. leaf trait c.uld be useful for inc.rporation into breeding programs.

Systematic.Errors Introduc.d into Sorghum Grain Yield Data: Does the Multiseed (msd) Trait Inc.ease Sorghum Seed Yield?

Multiseed (msd) mutant sorghum [Sorghum bic.lor (L.) Moenc.] lines with greatly inc.eased seed numbers were developed. It was originally thought that the msd trait c.uld inc.ease grain yield several times in c.mparison with the wild type from whic. the mutant was derived. However, in a small plot trial, msd seed yield dec.eased when c.mpared to the parent line. Herein we report results that msd seed yield remained either unc.anged or slightly inc.eased in c.mparison to the parent line. We suggest that attempts to measure msd sorghum seed yield were c.mplic.ted due to systematic.errors assoc.ated with the post-harvest proc.ssing methods, inc.uding threshing and pneumatic.winnowing equipment that was used for harvest. That is, seed rec.very and seed loss from individual panic.es were affec.ed by the post-harvest proc.ssing. When evaluating sorghum grain yield of types with different seed sizes, threshing and seed c.eaning harvesting methods should be optimized for eac. sorghum line.
