Characterization of Cd1-xZnxTe（0≤x≤1） Nanolayers Grown by Atomic Layer deposition on GaSb and GaAs（001） Oriented Substrates

ZnTe, CdTe, and the ternary alloy CdZnTe are important semiconductor materials used widely for the detection of an important range of electromagnetic radiation as gamma ray and X-ray. Although, recently these materials have acquired renewed importance due to the new explored nanolayer properties of modern devices. In addition, as shown in this work they can be grown using uncomplicated synthesis techniques based on the deposition in vapour phase of the elemental precursors. This work presents the results obtained from the deposition of nanolayers of these materials using the precursor vapour on GaAs and GaSb (001) substrates. This growth technique, extensively known as atomic layer deposition (ALd), allows the layers growth with nanometric dimension. The main results presented in this work are the used growth parameters and the results of the structural characterization of the layers by the means of Raman spectroscopy measurements. Raman scattering shows the peak corresponding to longitudinal optical (LO)-ZnTe, which is weak and slightly redshift in comparison with that reported for the ZnTe bulk at 210 cm^-1. For the case of the CdTe nanolayer, Raman spectra presented the LO-CdTe peak, which is indicative of the successful growth of the layer. Its weak and slightly redshift in comparison with that reported for the CdTe bulk can be related with the nanometric characteristic of this layer. The performed high-resolution X-ray diffraction (HR-XRd) measurement allows to study some important characteristics such as the crystallinity of the grown layer. In addition, the HR-XRd measurement suggests that the crystalline quality has dependence on the growth temperature.

Removing contaminants from tannery wastewater by chemical precipitation using CaO and Ca(OH)2

The removal of Cr,sulfates and Chemical Oxygen demand(COd)from industrial tannery wastewater by chemical precipitation was carried out using Calcium oxide(CaO)and Calcium hydroxide(Ca(OH)2).different doses of alkalis,ranging from deficiency to excess hydroxyl species over the stoichiometric necessary,were used to remove theoretically the 100%of Cr[0.3-3.2 g alkali·(g Cr^3+)^-1].The precipitation was carried out at room temperature,10 min of vigorous stirring,200 r·min^-1 and a settling time of 24 h,followed by separation and characterization of liquid *** result of addition of alkalis,pH underwent increase as did the alkali *** removal of Cr,and sulfates also increased as alkali concentration did,although for first species the changes at higher alkali contents were less *** removal on the other hand,did not follow a unique trend,instead exhibited a *** on our results,selection of a specific dose of alkali was carried out taking as reference the efficiency on total chromium removal,keeping the pH in the range 7 to 9 to ensure Cr precipitation as chromium *** those conditions,jar test was used to produce enough liquid product in order to determine the removal percent of several other *** removal percent of the species was as follows:Cr,SO4^2-,ZnSO4,FeSO4,CN^-1,NiSO4,Fe2[Fe(CN)6]at 99.8%,66.9%,99.6%,21.4%,70.9%,52.8%and 76.4%with CaO,and 99.8%,61.6%,99.9%,7.1%,84.0%,54.4%and 90.5%with Ca(OH)2,respectively.

We report a case of a haemodialysis patient that presented a catheter-related bacteraemia caused by a Coagulase negative Staphylococcus. With the utilization of molecular biology techniques the bacterial isolate recovered from catheter was surprisingly identified as S. hominis by sequencing of the 16S ribosomal gene. The S. hominis isolate, which is not often associated with infections in dialysis patients, was resistant to methicillin, being mecA positive, and to daptomycin. The patient was successfully treated with vancomycin together with the catheter retirement.

A Generic MEMS Fabrication Process Based on a Thermal Budget Approach

A modular and generic monolithic integrated MEMS process for integrating CMOS technology with polysilicon microstructures is presented. The proposed process flow is designed with an intra CMOS approach to fabricate the microstructures into trenches without the need of planarization techniques. After annealing at 1000°C at significant period of time, it is shown that Id-Vg characteristics of the CMOS transistors remain almost unchanged, indicating their robustness to the intra process fabrication for the micromechanical structures. The CMOS module is designed with a 3 μm length as a minimum feature and this process results with a minimum of residual strain and stress on the micromechanical devices (ε = 1.28 × 10-4 and σ = -21 MPa).

BACKGROUNd Neoadjuvant treatment(NT)with chemotherapy(Ch)is a standard option for resectable stage III(N2)*** studies have suggested benefits with the addition of radiotherapy(RT)to NT *** International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer(IASLC)published recommendations for the pathological response(PHR)of NSCLC resection specimens after *** To contribute to the IASLC recommendations showing our results of PHR to NT Ch vs NT chemoradiotherapy(ChRT).METHOdS We analyzed 67 consecutive patients with resectable stage III NSCLC with positive mediastinal nodes treated with surgery after NT Ch or NT ChRT between 2013 and *** NT,all patients were evaluated for radiological response(RR)according to Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumours criteria and evaluated for surgery by a specialized group of thoracic *** histological samples were examined by the same two *** was evaluated by the percentage of viable cells in the tumor and the resected lymph *** Forty patients underwent NT ChRT and 27 NT ***-six(83.6%)patients underwent surgery(35 ChRT and 21 Ch).The median time from ChRT to surgery was 6 wk(3-19)and 8 wk(3-21)for Ch *** observed significant differences in RR,with disease progression in 2.5%and 14.8%of patients with ChRT and Ch,respectively,and partial response in 62.5%ChRT vs 29.6%Ch(P=0.025).In PHR we observed≤10%viable cells in the tumor in 19(54.4%)and 2 cases(9.5%),and in the resected lymph nodes(RLN)30(85.7%)and 7(33.3%)in ChRT and Ch,respectively(P=0.001).downstaging was greater in the ChRT compared to the Ch group(80%vs 33.3%;P=0.002).In the univariate analysis,NT ChRT had a significant impact on partial RR[odds ratio(OR)12.5;95%confidence interval(CI):1.21-128.61;P=0.034],a decreased risk of persistence of cancer cells in the tumor and RLN and an 87.5%increased probability for achieving downstaging(OR 8;95%CI:2.34-27.32;P=0.001).CONCLUSION We found significant benefits in RR and PHR

Analysis Spectroscopic by Fourier Transform Infrared of Butter Made from Vegetable Oil and Pure Cow Milk Subjected at Thermo-Oxidation Processes

during the hydrogenation process of vegetable, oils originates isomer with trans fatty acids (TFA). Various investigations have been made to know the effect of TFA on health and it has been reported in the literature that if they are consumed in large proportions increases low density lipoprotein causing an imbalance in cholesterol, which causes cardiovascular problems. As a result, some countries have legislated and regulated the TFA content in foods. The purpose of this work is to study the FA of the butters produced from hydrogenated vegetable oil (MV) and pure cow"s milk (MPV) with and without oxidation by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) spectroscopy. The butters were acquired at a local supermarket and oxidized at 200 oC by 30 min. Infrared Radiation (IR) measurements were carried out in the Attenuated Total Reflectance mode and in the region of 400-4000 cm-1. IR spectra of the two butters with and without oxidation present absorption bands around 968 and 3006 cm-1, which are characteristic of the functional groups trans and cis, respectively. The MV presented a greater intensity; in addition, it was more stable to heat treatment. With FTIR is possible to define precisely the peak associated with the functional group cis.

Study by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy of the Avocado Oils of the Varieties Hass, Criollo and Fuerte

Edible oils are obtained by two procedures: by pressing the fruit and with organic solvents. However, there are reports that indicate that the use of solvents affect the quality of the fatty acids inducing the formation of trans isomers, which are banned in many countries because these consumed in large quantities are cause of cardiovascular diseases and increase the cholesterol. The purpose of this work is to apply FTIR to study the trans fatty acids in the avocado oils of the varieties Hass, Fuerte and Criollo extracted by centrifugation (AHC, AFC and ACC, respectively) and with hexane (AHH, ACH and AFH, respectively). The Infrared spectra were obtained with Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) in the mid region (4000-600 cm-1). The AHC, AFC and ACC Oils IR spectra show a very intensity band at the frequency 723 cm-1, which corresponds to the functional group cis with a bending vibration mode. For the AFH the trans functional group was identified in the band sited at 968 cm-1 with a strong intensity. The centrifuge method is an alternative for obtaining avocado oil, because the degradation of the fatty acids is minimum and the green color is maintained.

The purpose of this article is to contribute to the analysis of subjective well-being in the cities of Mexico through the theoretical formalization and empirical verification of a quantitative *** variables come from the constructs of the self-reported well-being module(BIARE);and they are called:overall satisfaction with life,sense of fullness,affect balance,and satisfaction *** equations were constructed using ordinary least squares regression with the BIARE databases of 2014 and *** analysis of the behavior pattern of variables conduced to findings of urban society’s expectations of well-being and concerns in the period *** quality of life-and-self-realization and overall satisfaction with life have the greatest weight in the model ***,it was determined that emotional balance and citizen security condition the ***,a relevant finding was that religion restricts the sense of fulness since it represents a well-being project with an opposite logic.
