MicroRNAs(miRNAs)are.small non-coding RNA mole.ule. that re.ulate.post-transcriptional ge.e.e.pre.sion and contribute.to all aspe.ts of ce.lular *** pre.iously re.orte. that the.activitie. of se.e.al mitochondria-e.riche. miRNAs re.ulating inflammation(i.e.,miR-142-3p,miR-142-5p,and miR-146a)are.alte.e. in the.hippocampus at 3–12 hours following a se.e.e.traumatic brain *** the.pre.e.t study,we.inve.tigate. the.te.poral e.pre.sion profile.of the.e.inflammatory miRNAs in mitochondria and cytosol fractions at more.chronic post-injury time. following se.e.e.controlle. cortical impact injury in *** addition,se.e.al inflammatory ge.e. we.e.analyze. in the.cytosol *** analysis showe. that while.e.e.ate. le.e.s we.e.obse.ve. in cytoplasm,the.mitochondria-e.riche. miRNAs,miR-142-3p and miR-142-5p continue. to be.significantly re.uce. in mitochondria from injure. hippocampi for at le.st 3 days and re.urne. to ne.r normal le.e.s at 7 days *** not statistically significant,miR-146a also re.aine. at re.uce. le.e.s for up to 3 days following controlle. cortical impact injury,and re.ove.e. by 7 *** contrast,miRNAs that are.not e.riche. in mitochondria,including miR-124a,miR-150,miR-19b,miR-155,and miR-223 we.e.e.the. incre.se. or de.onstrate. no change.in the.r le.e.s in mitochondrial fractions for 7 *** one.e.ce.tion was that miR-223 le.e.s we.e.re.uce. in mitochondria at 1 day following *** major alte.ations we.e.obse.ve. in sham ope.ate. *** te.poral patte.n was unique.to mitochondria-e.riche. miRNAs and corre.ate. with injury-induce. change. in mitochondrial bioe.e.ge.ics as we.l as e.pre.sion le.e.s of se.e.al inflammatory *** obse.vations sugge.te. a pote.tial compartme.tal re.distribution of the.mitochondria-e.riche. inflammatory miRNAs and may re.le.t an intrace.lular me.hanism by which spe.ific miRNAs re.ulate.injury-induce. inflammatory *** te.t this,we.utilize. a nove. pe.tide.base.
