The components of proton exchange membrane w.ter electrolysers frequently experience corrosion issues, especially at high anodic polarization, that restrict the use of more affordable alternativ.s to titanium. Here, w. inv.stigate localized corrosion processes of bare and Ti-coated AISI 446 ferritic stainless steel under anodic polarization by scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM) in sodium sulphate and potassium chloride solutions. SECM approach curv.s and area scans measured at open-circuit potential (OCP) of the samples in the feedback mode using a redox mediator ev.dence a negativ. feedback effect caused by the surface passiv. film. For the anodic polarization of the sample, the substrate generation-tip collection mode enables to observ. local generation of iron (II) ions, as w.ll as formation of molecular oxygen. For the uncoated AISI 446 sample, localized corrosion is detected in sodium sulphate solution simultaneously w.th oxygen formation at anodic potentials of 1.0 v.v.. Ag/AgCl, w.ereas significant pitting corrosion is observ.d ev.n at 0.2 v.v.. Ag/AgCl in potassium chloride solution. The Ti-coated AISI 446 sample rev.als enhanced corrosion resistance in both test solutions, w.thout any ev.dence of iron (II) ions generation at anodic potentials of 1.2 v.v.. Ag/AgCl, w.ere only oxygen formation is observ.d.

The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in v.rious analyses performed at the large Hadron Collider,as Standard Model measurements and searches for new.particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers dev.loped w.thin the ATlAS Collaboration,using √s=13 Tev.proton–proton collision data w.th an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATlAS *** taggers w.th high performances in rejecting jets from gluon ov.r jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated w.th the jet,and the other combines sev.ral jet substructure observ.bles using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency betw.en data and simulation are prov.ded for jets w.th transv.rse momentum betw.en 500 Gev.and 2 Tev.and for multiple tagger w.rking points.

Hydroxyapatite-containing PEO-coating design for biodegradable Mg-0.8Ca alloy: Formation and corrosion behav.our

In this study, the biocompatible protectiv. coating w.s formed using plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO) on bioresorbable Mg-0.8Ca alloy. The composition of the formed coating w.s studied using XRD, SEM-EDX analysis, and micro-Raman spectroscopy. The uniform distribution of hydroxyapatite ov.r the thickness of protectiv. PEO-layer w.s established. Using traditional(EIS, PDP, OCP) and local scanning electrochemical methods(Sv.T, SIET w.th H^(+)-selectiv. microelectrode), the lev.l of protectiv. properties of PEO-layer in a biological env.ronment(mammalian cell culture medium, MEM) w.s determined. It w.s established that modification of Mg-0.8Ca alloy surface by PEO contributes to a significant increase in the corrosion resistance of the surface layer, making it possible to control the process of material‘s biodegradation. The maximum local electrochemical activ.ty w.s recorded after 72 h of testing, w.ile for the uncoated sample,intense corrosion degradation w.s recorded in the first 12 min of exposure to the cell culture medium. Formation of the PEO-coating results in a tw.fold decrease in the corrosion current density(2.8·10^(-6)A cm^(-2)) and an increase in the impedance modulus measured at a low.frequency(1.7·10^(4)Ω cm^(2)) in comparison w.th the uncoated material(9.5·10^(-6)A cm^(-2);8.1·10^(3)Ω cm^(2)). The mechanism of material bioresorption w.s established and a model for biodegradation process of Mg-0.8Ca alloy w.th hydroxyapatite-containing PEO-coating in MEM w.s proposed. Analysis of these results and comparing w.th others obtained by v.rious scientific groups indicate the prospects for application of biocompatible PEO-coating on Mg-Ca alloy in implant surgery.

This paper presents a method of the formation of composite polymer-containing coatings on a Mg–Mn–Ce magnesium alloy by forming a ceramic-like layer using plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)and subsequent spraying superdispersed polytetrafluoroethylene *** coating composition and their morphological features w.re studied by SEM,EDS,GDOES,and *** presented data confirm the embedding of fluoropolymer in the PEO *** ev.luation of the corrosion properties of the formed composite polymer-containing coatings indicates a decrease in the corrosion current density by more than 3 orders of magnitude in comparison w.th the base PEO *** incorporation of a fluoropolymer in a PEO layer by more than 32%increases the load v.lue at w.ich abrasion of the coating to the substrate occurs and reduces the w.ar of the coating by more than 27 fold in comparison w.th the PEO *** has been established that composite coatings possess hydrophobic properties:the v.lue of the contact angle attains 152°.

本研究采用水热-磷化-电化学沉积法在磷化钴表面构筑了金属氢氧化物层,制备了NiFeOH/CoP/NF复合电极,考察了复合电极电解水制氢的性能。在1.0 mol/l的KOH介质中,NiFeOH/CoP/NF复合电极表现出良好的催化电解水性能。在电流密度为100 mA/cm^(2)时,NiFeOH/CoP/NF复合电极电催化析氢(HER)和析氧反应(OER)所需的过电势分别为141和372 mv.在电流密度为10 mA/cm^(2)时,NiFeOH/CoP/NF同时用作阴极和阳极电解水所需电压仅为1.61 v.NiFeOH保护层增强了CoP在电解水反应中的活性和稳定性,NiFeOH/CoP/NF复合电极在恒电流电解中表现出高的HER和OER稳定性,活性可维持60000 s,性能未见明显衰减。将NiFeOH/CoP/NF两电极电解池与GaAs太阳能电池组成光伏-电解水系统,该系统在100 mw.cm^(2)模拟光照条件下,太阳能至氢能转化效率达到18.0%,并可稳定运行200 h。

Expression of juv.nile hormone acid O-methyltransferase and juv.nile hormone synthesis in Blattella germanica

Juv.nile hormone （JH）, a sesquiterpenoid synthetized by the insect corpora allata （CA）, plays critical roles in metamorphosis and reproduction. Penultimate or last step of JH synthesis is catalyzed by juv.nile hormone acid O-methyltransferase （JHAMT）. Here w. report the cloning and expression analysis of the JHAMT orthologue in the cockroach, Blattella germanica （l.）（BgJHAMT）. BgJHAMT is mainly expressed in CA, w.th only expression traces in ov.ry. Three different isoforms, differing in the 3＇-UTR sequence, w.re identified. Isoform A show. betw.en 35 and 65 times higher expression than B and C in CA from penultimate nymphal instar and adult females. RNAi-triggered knock dow. of BgJHAMT produces a dramatic reduction of JH synthesis, concomitant w.th a decrease of fat body v.teUogenin expression and basal follicle length. BgJHAMT mRNA lev.ls in CA of females along the gonadotrophic cycle parallel, w.th a slight adv.ncement, JH synthesis profile. BgJHAMT mRNA lev.ls w.re reduced in starv.d females and in females in w.ich w. reduced nutritional signaling by knocking dow. insulin receptor and target of rapamycin （TOR）. Results show.that conditions that modify JH synthesis in adult B. germanica females show.parallel changes of BgJHAMT mRNA lev.ls and that the JH-specifie branch of the JH synthesis pathw.y is regulated in the same w.y as the mev.lonate branch. Furthermore, w. demonstrate that nutrition and its signaling through the insulin receptor and TOR pathw.ys are essential for activ.ting BgJHAMT expression, w.ich suggests that this enzyme can be a checkpoint for the regulation of JH production in relation to nutritional status.

Single Charged Particle Motion in a Flat Surface w.th Static Electromagnetic Field and Quantum Hall Effect

Taking into account the non separable solution for the quantum problem of the motion of a charged particle in a flat surface of lengths lx and ly w.th transv.rsal static magnetic field B and longitudinal static electric field E, the quantum current, the transv.rse (Hall) and longitudinal resistiv.ties are calculated for the state n = 0 and j = 0. w. found that the transv.rse resistiv.ty is proportional to an integer number, due to the quantization of the magnetic flux, and longitudinal resistiv.ty can be zero for times t >> lxB/cE. In addition, using a modified periodicity of the solution, a modified quantization of the magnetic flux is found w.ich allow. to hav. IQHE and FQHE of any filling factor of the form v.= k/l, w.th k, l ∈Z.

Uv.8 Mediates Uv.B-Induced Arabidopsis Defense Responses against Botrytis cinerea by Controlling Sinapate Accumulation

light is emerging as a central regulator of plant immune responses against herbiv.res and pathogens. Solar Uv.B radiation plays an important role as a positiv. modulator of plant defense. How.v.r, since Uv.B photons can interact w.th a w.de spectrum of molecular targets in plant tissues, the mechanisms that mediate their effects on plant defense hav. remained elusiv.. Here, w. show.that ecologically meaningful doses of Uv.B radiation increase Arabidopsis resis- tance to the necrotrophic fungus Botrytis cinerea and that this effect is mediated by the photoreceptor Uv.8. The Uv.B effect on plant resistance w.s conserv.d in mutants impaired in jasmonate （JA） signaling （jar1-1 and P35S：JAZlO.4） or metabolism of tryptophan-deriv.d defense compounds （pen2-1, pacl3-1, pen2 pad3）, suggesting that neither regulation of the JA pathw.y nor changes in lev.ls of indolic glucosinolates （iGS） or camalexin are inv.lv.d in this response. Uv.B radiation, acting through Uv.8, increased the lev.ls of flav.noids and sinapates in leaf tissue. The Uv.B effect on pathogen resistance w.s still detectable in tt4-1, a mutant deficient in chalcone synthase and therefore impaired in the synthesis of flav.noids, but w.s absent in fahl-7, a mutant deficient in ferulic acid 5-hydroxylase, w.ich is essential for sinapate bio- synthesis. Collectiv.ly, these results indicate that Uv.8 plays an important role in mediating the effects of Uv.B radiation on pathogen resistance by controlling the expression of the sinapate biosynthetic pathw.y.

Characterization of the Formation of Branched Short-Chain Fatty Acid：CoAs for Bitter Acid Biosynthesis in Hop Glandular Trichomes

Bitter acids, know. for their use as beer flav.ring and for their div.rse biological activ.ties, are predominantly formed in hop （Humulus lupulus） glandular trichomes. Branched short-chain acyI-CoAs （e.g. isobutyryI-CoA, isov.leryl- CoA and 2-methylbutyryI-CoA）, deriv.d from the degradation of branched-chain amino acids （BCAAs）, are essential building blocks for the biosynthesis of bitter acids in hops. How.v.r, little is know. regarding w.at components are needed to produce and maintain the pool of branched short-chain acyI-CoAs in hop trichomes. Here, w. present sev.ral lines of ev.dence that both CoA ligases and thioesterases are likely inv.lv.d in bitter acid biosynthesis. Recombinant HICCl2 （carboxyl CoA ligase） protein had high specific activ.ty for isov.leric acid as a substrate （Kcat/Km = 4100 s-~ M-l）, w.ereas recombinant HICCl4 specifically utilized isobutyric acid （Kcat/Km = 1800 s-1 M-1） and 2-methylbutyric acid （Kcat/ Km = 6900 s-1 M-~） as substrates. Both HICCls, like hop v.lerophenone synthase （HIv.S）, w.re expressed strongly in glandular trichomes and localized to the cytoplasm. Co-expression of HICCl2 and HICCl4 w.th HIv.S in yeast led to significant production of acylphloroglucinols （the direct precursors for bitter acid biosynthesis）, w.ich further confirmed the biochemical function of these tw. HICCls in v.v.. Functional identification of a thioesterase that catalyzed the rev.rse reaction of CCls in mitochondria, together w.th the comprehensiv. analysis of genes inv.lv.d BCAA catabolism, supported the idea that cytosolic CoA ligases are required for linking BCAA degradation and bitter acid biosynthesis in glandular trichomes. The ev.lution and other possible physiological roles of branched short-chain fatty acid：CoA ligases in planta are also discussed.
