Co-inoculation of selected nodule endophytic rhizobacterial strains with Rhizobium tropici promotes plant growth and controls damping off in common bean

Production of common bean(Phaseolus vulgaris)is limited by the occurrence of damping off(rhizoctoniosis),which is caused by the fungus Rhizoctonia ***,the co-inoculation of plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria(PGPR)involved in biological control along with diatomic nitrogen(N2)-fixing rhizobia can enhance N nutrition and increase *** this context,finding microorganisms with synergistic effects that perform these two roles is of fundamental importance to ensure adequate yield *** aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of co-inoculation of nodule endophytic strains of the genera Bacillus,Paenibacillus,Burkholderia,and Pseudomonas with Rhizobium tropici CIAT 899,an N2-fixing rhizobial strain,on the biocontrol of damping off and growth promotion in common bean *** experiments were conducted under axenic conditions using the common bean cultivar Pé*** first experiment evaluated the potential of the 14 rhizobacterial strains,which were inoculated alone or in combination with CIAT 899,for the control of *** second experiment evaluated the ability of these 14 rhizobacterial strains to promote plant growth with three manners of N supply:co-inoculation with CIAT 899 at low mineral N supply(5.25 mg N mL^-1),low mineral N supply(5.25 mg N mL^-1),and high mineral N supply(52.5 mg N mL^-1).The use of rhizobacteria combined with rhizobia contributed in a synergistic manner to the promotion of growth and the control of damping off in the common ***-inoculation of the strains UFLA 02-281/03-18(Pseudomonas sp.),UFLA 02-286(Bacillus sp.),and UFLA 04-227(Burkholderia fungorum)together with CIAT 899 effectively controlled damping *** the common bean,mineral N supply can be replaced by the co-inoculation of CIAT 899 with plant growth-promoting strains UFLA 02-281/02-286/02-290/*** endophytes UFLA02-281/02-286 are promising for co-inoculation with CIAT 899 in the common bean,promoting synergy with rhizobial i

A Bi-Objective Green Vehicle Routing Problem: A New Hybrid Optimization Algorithm Applied to a Newspaper Distribution

The purpose of this work is to present a methodology to provide a solution to a Bi-objective Green Vehicle Routing Problem (BGVRP). The methodology, illustrated using a case study (newspaper distribution problem) and literature Instances, was divided into three stages: Stage 1, data treatment;Stage 2, “metaheuristic approaches” (hybrid or non-hybrid), used comparatively, more specifically: NSGA-II (Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm II), MOPSO (Multi-Objective Particle Swarm Optimization), which were compared with the new approaches proposed by the authors, CWNSGA-II (Clarke and Wright’s Savings with the Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm II) and CWTSNSGA-II (Clarke and Wright’s Savings, Tabu Search and Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm II);Stage 3, analysis of the results, with a comparison of the algorithms. An optimization of 19.9% was achieved for Objective Function 1 (OF1;minimization of CO2 emissions) and consequently the same percentage for the minimization of total distance, and 87.5% for Objective Function 2 (OF2;minimization of the difference in demand). Metaheuristic approaches hybrid achieved superior results for case study and instances. In this way, the procedure presented here can bring benefits to society as it considers environmental issues and also balancing work between the routes, ensuring savings and satisfaction for the users.

研究了基于横向磁场直线开关磁阻电机(transverse flux linear switched reluctance motor,TFLSRM)、全数字控制器与新型位置传感器的直线电机驱动系统,建立了TFLSRM数学模型。新型位置传感器利用了TFLSRM次极边极形,无需在次极安装任何元件,改善了系统可靠性。为改善系统性能,在电流环进行了从牵引力到平均电流的非线性转换,在速度环采用离散时间趋近率控制。基于DSP设计了控制器,测试了新型位置传感器与所提驱动系统的动、静态性能。实验结果验证了新型位置传感器与TFLSRM驱动系统的优良性能。

Tricuspid Valve Endocarditis in a Patient with Congenital Heart Disease

The present study reports a case of a young patient who presented for 3 months dyspnea, edema of lower limbs, fever and important weight loss. She evolved with acute fever, hematemesis and focal seizures. An echocardiogram was performed demonstrating file presence of interventricular, interatrial, and extensive echogenic imaging and of poorly defined borders throughout the septal cusp of the tricuspid valve, suggestive of vegetation, chest tomography that observed several foci of pulmonary abscess and blood culture evidencing the presence of Staphylococcus aureus. She was treated with Vancomycin, Meropenem and Amphotericin, along with clinical support. She underwent surgery to exchange the tricuspid valve for a biological prosthesis, evolving with clinical improvement and receiving discharge from hospital.

Soil loss and runoff obtained with customized precipitation patterns simulated by InfiAsper

Applying constant precipitation intensity,which does not occur in natural events,is one of the main limitations concerning rainfall simulators in soil erosion *** present work evaluated the InfiAsper rainfall simulator operating with a new control panel to program rainfalls with different precipitation intensities(PI).Infiltration rates and soil and water losses were evaluated in a Distrophic Acrisol(clay loam texture)with simulated rainfalls of 30 mm and duration of 40 min,considering advanced(AD),intermediate(IN),delayed(DE),and inverted intermediate(II)patterns,all with PI peaks of 110 mm h^(-1),and a constant(CT)*** experimental design was in randomized blocks with five treatments(rainfall patterns)and experimental units measuring 2.5×2.5 *** simulator worked satisfactorily,applying the rainfall according to the preconfigured *** simulated rainfall with the CT and II patterns did not promote runoff nor soil *** and runoff rates varied according to the applied rainfall pattern,reaching 97.8 and 27.3 mm h^(-1)(AD),82.1 and 39.5 mm h^(-1)(IN),and 76.2 and 49.7 mm h^(-1)(DE),*** loss and surface runoff totaled each 4.77 g m^(-2)and 3.9 mm(AD),6.70 g m^(-2)and 6.8 mm(IN),and 6.03 g m^(-2)and 7.0 mm(DE).The InfiAsper simulator modified enables varying precipitation intensity besides obtaining satisfactory results in the field and information consistent with the expected characteristics of natural rainfall *** the intermediate and delayed rainfall patterns,soil and water losses are higher than in the advanced.

Secondary forests and human-made forest gaps are conspicuous features of tropical ***,behavioral responses to these aspects of anthropogenically modified forests remain poorly ***,we analyze the effects of small human-made clearings and secondary forests on tropical bats by examining the guild-and species-level activity patterns of phyllostomids sampled in the Central Amazon,***,we contrast the temporal activity patterns and degree of temporal overlap of 6 frugivorous and 4 gleaning animalivorous species in old-growth forest and second-growth forest and of 4 frugivores in old-growth forest and forest *** activity patterns of frugivores and gleaning animalivores did not change between old-growth forest and second-growth,nor did the activity patterns of frugivores between old-growth forest and ***,at the species level,we detected significant differences for Artibeus obscurus(old-growth forest ***-growth)and ***(old-growth forest ***).The degree of temporal overlap was greater than random in all sampled ***,for frugivorous species,the degree of temporal overlap was similar between old-growth forest and second-growth;whereas for gleaning animalivores,it was lower in second-growth than in old-growth *** the contrary,forest clearings were characterized by increased temporal overlap between *** in activity patterns and temporal overlap may result from differential foraging opportunities and dissimilar predation ***,our analyses suggest that activity patterns of bats in second-growth and small forest clearings,2 of the most prominent habitats in humanized tropical landscapes,varies little from the activity patterns in old-growth forest.

Emulsion-filled gels of soy protein isolate for vehiculation of vitamin D3:Effect of protein solubility on their mechanical and rheological characteristics

The aim of this study was to develop heat-induced gels of soy protein isolate(SPI)filled with Brazil nut oil emulsions encapsulating vitamin D3(VD3).Before gelation,dispersions produced with different SPI concentrations(11-15%,w/w)were subjected to different pretreatments(manual mixing or mechanical stirring at 800 rpm for 10,20,and 30 min)and had their protein solubility *** application of mechanical stirring increased the solubility of proteins and decreased the average particle size,affecting the microstructure(observed by confocal laser scanning microscopy)and rheological properties(evaluated by uniaxial compression and small strain oscillatory tests)of the heat-set *** incorporation of emulsions(produced with Brazilian nut oil)into gels formed emulsion filled gels(EFGs),which presented higher Young’s moduli andσH in comparison to non-filled gels(NFGs),indicating that the oil droplets were active within the *** properties of EFGs subjected to small strain oscillatory tests,varied with the pretreatment conditions and SPI concentrations,highlighting the high influence of protein solubility,matrix inhomogeneities,and droplet clustering for determining the properties of such complex ***,the heat-induced emulsion-filled gels of SPI produced were effective in protecting VD3,presenting good retention after 30 days of storage under refrigeration,and represent promising alternative for the production of future food gelled products.

Aims Soil plays an important role in the formation and heterogene-ity of habitats and thus can cause changes in vegetation struc-ture and plant *** differentiation between Cerrado/savanna and forest is well known,but the relationship between soil and habitats from savannic or forest formations still needs to be better understood,particularly in tropical ecotonal *** studied the association between attributes of plant com-munities,namely structure and diversity,and physicochemical characteristics of soils in the Caatinga domain at the transition to Cerrado in *** Chemical and physical analyses of soils were performed in samples of 38 plots from savannic formations and 30 plots from forest *** was characterized floristically and structurally in all plots,five habitats being assessed in each plant *** features and vegetation parameters were highly distinct among the different *** Findingsin general,forest habitats were more nutrient rich than savannic ***,soil variables showed effects both on vegetation structure and on its species diversity,more pronouncedly in the savannic *** were structurally distinct,and diversity differed between savannic and forest communities;however,a higher differentiation occurred when the savannic formation habitats were compared among *** plant diversity did not differ among forest formation habitats,soil attributes showed a close relationship with edaphic factors and can contribute for similar *** soil-vegetation relationship in highly diverse ecotonal landscapes is important from the conservation biology point of view and aid in the execution of proactive plans for the maintenance of ***,we noticed that diversity and soil behaves distinctly between savannic and forest communities.

Punica granatum *** a medicinal plant from the Mediterranean,used for treating infectious and inflammatory *** leaves correspond to a non-edible part of the tree that is used for medicinal purposes but still,is a non-explored material for the development of technological food and pharmaceutics products although,it has therapeutic and bioactive *** on this,the current review was carried out by searching for scientific articles written in English,available on the“PubMed”and“ScienceDirect”databases and published in the last ten ***-nine articles were selected whose main study was the leaves of *** and its medicinal use,therapeutic activities,and technological *** its medicinal use,the *** leaves show antioxidant,anti-inflammatory,antimetabolic,anticancer,and antimicrobial *** potential is normally related to the presence of secondary metabolites,mainly phenolic compounds,tannins and their monomers(ellagic acid and gallic acid).Besides that,the lipophilic compounds present in the *** leaves prove to be important to some activities or contribute as support in the activity related to *** the ease of cultivation and adaptation of the species,combined with the potential availability of raw material,reinforces that the leaves of *** may play a relevant role as a source of bioactive compounds and can be exploited for the development of food and pharmaceutical products.
