传统销钉式花岗岩石材幕墙在外荷载作用下的破坏时有发生。为分析销钉式花岗岩石材幕墙面板在平面外荷载作用下的力学性能,通过单调与低周往复加载对其进行平面外承载力试验,分别得到对应的荷载位移关系曲线,结合有限元数值模拟验证试验结果的准确性,并对比研究两种加载方式对面板的强度、变形能力和破坏模式的影响。结果表明:花岗岩石材幕墙面板的力学性能和破坏模式受加载方式的影响;面板与销钉之间的滑移对低周往复荷载作用下的承载力影响较大,对单调荷载作用下的承载力影响较小;面板与销钉连接处是薄弱部位,在平面外荷载作用下面板会出现应力集中现象,且呈现脆性破坏的特征。试验研究结果可为销钉式花岗岩石材幕墙的设计提供参考。

BACKGROUND:Douglas described choledochal cysts in 1852 and Todani proposed an anatomy-based classification in 1977. The classification is the most extensively used,but does not include some rare *** present a case of hepatic duct diverticulum,one of the variations,and discuss its diagnosis and treatment. METHODS:A 57-year-old woman presented with upper abdominal pain and discomfort associated with nausea and *** was finally diagnosed with cholelithiasis and right hepatic duct diverticulum. RESULT:The patient underwent resection of the hepatic duct diverticulum and cholecystectomy,and was asymptomatic 26 months after surgery. CONCLUSIONS:Hepatic duct diverticulum is a rare form of choledochal cyst,not included in Todani’s classification. Todani’s classification including this and other uncommon variations of choledochal cysts must be *** best diagnostic imaging methods and treatment for choledochal cysts must be defined.

Last December 2019,a cluster of viral pneumonia cases identified as coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)was reported in Wuhan,*** aimed to explore the frequencies of nasal symptoms in patients with COVID-19,including loss of smell and taste,as well as their presentation as the first symptom of the disease and their association with the severity of *** this retrospective study,1206 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 patients were included and followed up by telephone one month after discharged from Tongji Hospital,*** data,laboratory values,comorbidities,symptoms,and numerical rating scale scores(0–10)of nasal symptoms were extracted from the hospital medical records,and confirmed or reevaluated by the telephone *** patients(n=1172)completing follow-up,199(17%)subjects had severe COVID-19 and 342(29.2%)reported nasal symptoms.20.6%COVID-19 patients had loss of taste(median score=6),while 11.4%had loss of smell(median score=5).Loss of taste scores,but not loss of smell scores,were significantly increased in severe *** COVID-19 ***(IL)-6 and lactose dehydrogenase(LDH)serum levels were positively correlated with loss of taste *** 80%of COVID-19 patients recovered from smell and taste dysfunction in 2 *** this cohort,only 1 out of 10 hospital admitted patients had loss of smell while 1 out of 5 reported loss of taste which was associated to severity of *** patients recovered smell and taste dysfunctions in 2 weeks.

Introduction and Objectives: Sinonasal tumours represent only 3% of all head and neck cancers. Adenocarcinoma is the second most frequent histopathology type. Hardwood exposure has been considered a risk factor. Sinonasal adenocarcinoma grows silently which leads to a late diagnosis and low survival rates. The aim of this study was to present our experience in the management of the patients with sinonasal adenocarcinoma. Method: Retrospective medical records review of patients with sinonasal adenocarcinomas (1974 to 2009). Results: From 301 patients with sinonasal tumors, 67 had histology of adenocarcinoma. Patient average age was 60.1 ± 11.1 years (30 - 84 years). 83.6% were man. 65.7% had history of working with wood. 70.1% of the patients had advance disease. The most common treatment strategy was external surgery (lateral rhinotomy (47.8%), sublabial (17.9%) or cranio-facial resection (6%)) or endoscopic approaches with postoperative radiotherapy. The 3 and 5 years overall survival rate were 60% and 49%, respectively. Conclusions: Our group study showed similar epidemiologic characteristics than other series. We confirmed sinonasal adenocarcinomas tendency to late diagnosis and wood dust exposure relation. In our experience, the limited surgical treatment (without craniofacial resection) and postoperative radiotherapy has good survival rates results, similar to other departments who consider the craniofacial resection as the standard treatment.

Mitochondrial GPX1 silencing triggers differential photosynthesis impairment in response to salinity in rice plants

The physiological role of plant mitochondrial glutathione peroxidases is scarcely known. This study attempted to elucidate the role of a rice mitochondrial isoform（GPX1） in photosynthesis under normal growth and salinity conditions. GPX1 knockdown rice lines（GPX1s） were tested in absence and presence of 100 mM NaCl for 6 *** reduction of GPX1 s line under non-stressful conditions, compared with non-transformed（NT） plants occurred in parallel to increased H_2O_2 and decreased GSH contents. These changes occurred concurrently with photosynthesis impairment, particularly in Calvin cycle＇s reactions, since photochemical efficiency did not ***, GPX1 silencing and downstream molecular/metabolic changes modulated photosynthesis differentially. In contrast, salinity induced reduction in both phases of photosynthesis, which were more impaired in silenced *** changes were associated with root morphology alterations but not shoot growth. Both studied lines displayed increased GPX activity but H_2O_2 content did not change in response to salinity. Transformed plants exhibited lower photorespiration, water use efficiency and root growth, indicating that GPX1 could be important to salt tolerance. Growth reduction of GPX1 s line might be related to photosynthesis impairment, which in turn could have involved a cross talk mechanism between mitochondria and chloroplast originated from redox changes due to GPX1 deficiency.

Head and Neck Cancer Early Identification of Malnutrition High Risk Patients and Quality of Life Optimization

Malnutrition in Head and neck cancer (HNC) patients can be present at the moment of diagnosis. The nutritional status is determinant for the treatment success and quality of life of the patients. The nutritional status gradually declines during treatment and the majority of patients undergoing treatment will need nutritional therapy. On the other hand, HNC, like other cancers, can induce a paraneoplastic syndrome that leads to cachexia. This cachexia status is most of the times the cause of death or the cause of treatment failure. So, early identification of malnutrition high risk patients is crucial to start an adequate nutrition support intervention in HNC patients. This study aims to identify HNC patients who present malnutrition or higher risk of malnutrition;to signalize variables that support early identification of high-risk patients of becoming malnourished and to establish a dynamic relationship between malnutrition risk in these patients and Quality of Life (QoL) impacts. For six months consecutive outpatients with HNC admitted at the Head & Neck Unity of Oncology Portuguese Institute—Porto were asked to participate in the research (n = 114). The European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) cancer-specific HRQoL questionnaire-QLQ-C30 and Malnutrition Universal Screening Tool, MUST were used. At the moment of first presentation, 32 patients (28.1%) presented high-risk of malnutrition. HNC patients with oral cavity and oropharynx tumour locations, older, with low literacy or with BMI under 18.5 at the moment of diagnosis, represent a high-risk group. When HNC is considered, a dynamic and bi-directional connection between malnutrition and QoL is observed. Different physical, mechanical and chemical processes, such as： ion implantation, oxidation, nitridation and others create on the surface of materials residual stress state, characterized by high level and strong gradient. X-ray diffraction method widely used for stress measurements has some difficulties in interpretation of experimental data, when the depth of X-ray penetration is compared with thickness of surface layer where inhomogeneous stress distribution is localized. Early it has been shown by authors that diffraction line broadening occurs when analyzed surface is characterized by strong gradient. The interest to study the diffraction line broadening is connected to the possibility of obtaining information about parameters of surface stress distribution. In the present paper the convolution and deconvolution concepts of Fourier analysis were applied to study X ray diffraction line broadening caused by surface stress gradients. Developed methodology allows determining of stress distribution in superficial layers of materials.

Cachexia is a multifactorial syndrome related to unintentional weight loss and to loss of muscle and fat mass. In head and neck cancer (HNC) its incidence is important and not only related to a deficient intake of food due to the impact of the disease in the vital functions. A complex disturbance in the normal metabolism of the patient promotes a persistent inflammatory state and a shifting in the metabolism balance toward a catabolic predominance affecting primarily the skeletal muscle. This leads to severe impairment of the functional, emotional and social status and quality of life of the patients that will compromise response to treatment and the disease prognosis. Understanding this deleterious syndrome and mainly identifying it in early stages of the disease is of a major importance in achieving better outcomes to head and neck cancer patients. This study pretends to identify clinical aspects related to cachexia in HNC in a clinical perspective for application on the routine clinical practice. In our study, 30 HNC patients were enrolled and evaluated in terms of nutritional values (actual and loss of weight in the past 6 months, body mass index (BMI), nutritional risk index (NRI), malnutrition universal screening tool), serum biochemical markers (albumin, total proteins, cholesterol, triglycerides, urea, C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukin-6 (IL-6), tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and myostatin) and health related quality of life (HRQoL) evaluation (using European Organisation for the Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) quality of life questionnaires (QLQ): EORTC QLQ-C30 and EORTC QLQ-HN43). A minimum follow-up of 48 months was considered for all patients. Our results showed that NRI is a good and sensitive index to identify cachexia. This index uses two parameters, one constitutional (loss of weight) and one biochemical (level of serum albumin). In this work, we derive an exact vacuum solution for a cylindrically symmetric metric in an extended gravity theory developed by Novello, De Lorenci and Luciane (hereafter referred to as the NDL theory) which is inspired in the Born-Infeld theory. The main goal of this paper is to nd a cosmic string solution for the NDL theory. However, a careful analysis of the metric shows that it is asymptotically singular and therefore does not represent a cosmic string solution.
