Extracting the light trapped in a waveguide,or the opposite effect of trapping light in a thin region and guiding it perpendicular to its incident propagation direction,is essential for optimal energetic performance in illumination,display or light harvesting *** we demonstrate that the paradoxical goal of letting as much light in or out while maintaining the wave effectively trapped can be achieved with a periodic array of interpenetrated fibers forming a photonic fiber *** entering perpendicular to that plate may be trapped in an intermittent chaotic trajectory,leading to an optically ergodic *** fabricated such a photonic fiber plate and showed that for a solar cell incorporated on one of the plate surfaces,light absorption is greatly *** this,we found the unexpected result that a more chaotic photon trajectory reduces the production of photon scattering entropy.

这项随机对照试验目的是研究在常规治疗(treatment as usual, TAU)中加入非盲安慰剂治疗(open-label placebo, OLP)3周对慢性腰痛的影响在伦理上是否可以利用。在三个0至10分数字评分量表上评估疼痛严重程度,评分最大疼痛,最小疼痛和平时疼痛,以及综合的、主要结局指标,总疼痛评分。我们其他的主要结局指标是与背部相关的功能障碍,它通过Roland-Morris功能障碍调查表评估。在探索性随访中,TAU的病人再额外服用安慰剂3周。我们将97名报告并由疼痛专家诊断的持续性腰痛超过3个月的病人随机分组。83名成年人完成了试验。与TAU组相比,OLP组在三个0到10点数字评分量表和0到10点复合疼痛量表中均疼痛减轻更多(P <0.001),并且具有中等到大的效应量。在OLP组中复合数字评估量表疼痛减少1.5(95%置信区间:1.0-2.0),在TAU组中减少0.2(-0.3至0.8)。与TAU组相比,非盲安慰剂治疗也减降低了功能障碍(P <0.001),效应量大。OLP组的功能障碍评分改善为2.9(1.7-4.0),TAU组为0.0(21.1-1.2)。转换为OLP后,TAU组疼痛(1.5,0.8-2.3)和功能障碍(3.4, 2.2-4.5)显著降低。本研究结果表明,OLP药物在积极的环境下呈现可能有助于慢性腰痛的治疗。

The aim of this work is to determine the porosity of concrete by means of two NDT （non-destructive testing） using digital images. In one test, the images were obtained through X-ray microtomography and for another test via digital scanner. In both of the tests, the images were processed using techniques of mathematical morphology and pixel processing. For both NDT, it was used concrete samples with 20-30 MPa of compressive strength. The results for the porosity were compared with results obtained by the standard test proposed by NBR （Norma Brasileira） 9778 （2005） showing the compatibility between two studied methods and pattern method.

Background:Abnormalities of cortical thickness(CTh)in patients with their first episode psychosis(FEP)have been frequently reported,but findings are ***:To define the most consistent CTh changes in patients with FEP by meta-analysis of publishedwholebrain ***:The meta-analysis used seed-based dmapping(SDM)software to obtain the most prominent regional CTh changes in FEP,and meta-regression analyses to explore the effects of demographics and clinical *** meta-analysis results were verified in an independent sample of 142 FEP patients and 142 age-and sex-matched healthy controls(HCs),using both a vertex-wise and a region of interest analysis,with multiple comparisons ***:The meta-analysis identified lower CTh in the rightmiddle temporal cortex(MTC)extending to superior temporal cortex(STC),insula,and anterior cingulate cortex(ACC)in FEP compared with *** significant correlations were identified between CTh alterations and demographic or clinical *** results were replicated in the independent dataset ***:This study identifies a robust pattern of cortical abnormalities in FEP and extends understanding of gray matter abnormalities and pathological mechanisms in FEP.

The formation and evolution of cosmic string wakes in the framework of a f(R) theory of gravity are investigated in this work. We consider a simple model in which baryonic matter flows past a cosmic string. We treat this problem in the Zel’dovich approximation. We compare our results with previous results obtained in the context of General Relativity and Scalar-Theories of Gravity.

China has been affected by some of the world’s most serious geological disasters and experiences high economic damage every *** occur not only in remote areas but also in highly populated *** the framework of the Dragon-432365 Project,this paper presents the main results and the major conclusions derived from an extensive exploitation of Sentinel-1,ALOS-2(Advanced Land Observing Satellite 2),GF-3(Gao Fen Satellite 3),and latest launched SAR(Synthetic Aperture Radar),together with methods that allow the evaluation of their importance for various ***,in the scope of this project,the great benefits of recent remote sensing data(wide spatial and temporal coverage)that allow a detailed reconstruction of past displacement events and to monitor currently occurring phenomena are exploited to study different areas and geohazards problems,including:surface deformation of mountain slopes;identification and monitoring of ground movements and subsidence;landslides;ground fissure;and building inclination *** movements detected in the different study areas were cross validated with different SAR sensors and truth data.

MLS （Maroteaux-Lamy syndrome） or MPS VI （mucopolysaccharidosis VI） is an autosomal recessive pathology in which there is absence or low activity of the enzyme N-Acetylgalactosamine-4-Sulfatase, which hydrolyzes GAGs （glycosaminoglycans） in the body （mainly dermatan sulfate）. Consequently, there occurs lysosomal deposition of GAGs in connective tissue multisystemic. Myocardium and heart valves are frequently affected structures, presenting a direct correlation with the reports of complications and deaths. Case report： RGS, male, 3 years and 2 months, diagnosed with MPS VI from the first month of life, in weekly ERT （enzyme replacement therapy） since 4 months of age （inconstant）. At physical examination： normotensive, with holosystolic heart murmur 3＋/6＋ in mitral focus. Complementary tests： normal electrocardiogram, echocardiogram with pronounced mitral regurgitation, concentric left ventricular hypertrophy of moderate degree and mild aortic insufficiency. Discussion： Mitral valve disease is common in patients with MLS. Conditions such as cardiomyopathy, fibroelastosis, aneurysm and pulmonary hypertension may occur in these patients, indicative of morbidity and mortality. Early and constant ERT may be useful in slowing a progression of heart disease. Conclusions： follow-up with a cardiologist is important to evaluate the progression of cardiac complications in MPS VI. Constant and early ERT provides better prognosis for these patients.
