Oral squamous cell carcinoma （OSCC） has a high incidence of cervical micrometastases and sometimes metastasizes contralaterally because of the rich lymphatic intercommunications relative to submucosal plexus of oral cavity that freely communicate across the midline, and it can facilitate the spread of neoplastic cells to any area of the neck consequently. Clinical and histopathologic factors continue to provide predictive information to contralateral neck metastases （CLNM） in OSCC, which determine prophylactic and adjuvant treatments for an individual patient. This review describes the predictive value of clinical-histopathologic factors, which relate to primary tumor and cervical lymph nodes, and surgical dissection and adjuvant treatments. In addition, the indications for elective contralateral neck dissection and adjuvant radiotherapy （aRT） and strategies for follow-up are offered, which is strongly focused by clinicians to prevent later CLNM and poor prognosis subsequently.

Complementary and alternative medicine(CAM), in particular acupuncture, has been practiced and taught in recent years in many universities in the Western ***, we relate our experience since 1997 in teaching acupuncture to medical students in Rio Preto Medical School(Famerp), *** are given in the third and fifth *** main goals of understanding the mechanisms of action and being able to recognize patients who may benefit from treatment and referring them have been well achieved, scoring 3.6 and 4.1 respectively, on a scale from *** using that scale, medical students believe that acupuncture is important in the curriculum(4.6), course time is not sufficient(2.7) and they would like more information(4.6).To overcome these concerns, many students join the undergraduate study groups(Acupuncture League) where they have more time to *** also describe the presence of foreign medical students who, since 2000, have enrolled in a course of 150 h in an exchange program.

Paracoccidioidomycosis is the most prevalent systemic mycosis in Latin America. It is a fungal infection caused by the dimorphic fungus Paracoccidioides brasiliensis. This microorganism can penetrate the human body through direct contact and can cause intense lymphadenopathy, ulcerated lesions in the oral cavity and in the skin among other alterations. In this study, we report a case of paracoccidioidomycosis with unusual clinical presentation, as it manifested in the female sex and although it did not present any relevant complaints of respiratory focus, it presented a single ulcerated lesion in the buccal mucosa. A biopsy of the lesion and a mycological examination revealed Paracoccidioidesbrasiliensis infection.

The present study evaluates the performance of three numerical weather forecasting models: Global Forecast System (GFS), Brazilian Regional Atmospheric Modelling System (BRAMS) and ETA Regional Model (ETA), by means of the Mean Error (ME) and the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), during the most rainy four months period (January to April 2012) on Eastern Amazonia. The models displayed errors of superestimation and underestimation with respect to the observed precipitation, mainly over center-north of Pará and all of Amapá, where the precipitation is higher. Among the analyzed models, GFS shows the best performance, except during January and March, when the model to underestimated precipitation, possibly due to the anomalously high values recorded.

The paracetamol has more antioxidant properties than the salicylic acid on the several oxidative stress-forced models and one possible mechanism is due to electron or hydrogen transfer by the evaluated hydroxyl radicals. The antioxidant mechanism for the compounds studied here was performed by molecular modeling using quantum chemical calculations at the B3LYP level of theory. Our results show that the paracetamol has more antioxidant properties than the salicylic acid in experimental and theoretical studies. The theoretical mechanism show that the hydrogen transfer is more favorable than the electron transfer. From the study it was concluded that the electron abstraction for paracetamol is more favored than salicylic acid.

双丹口服液对体外培养心肌干细胞作用的研究

目的观察双丹口服液(SOL)对体外分离培养的SD仔鼠心肌干细胞(CSCs)的作用。方法分离培养CSCs,将培养的第2代CSCs分为对照组及不同浓度1×10-1mol/L、1×10-2mol/L、1×10-3mol/L、1×10-4mol/L、1×10-5mol/L和1×10-6mol/L的SOL组。培养24 h、48 h后用MTT比色法检测SOL对CSCs的影响。将10-2mol/L SOL组的细胞培养24 h后,用流式细胞仪测定c-kit+/CD45-细胞的比率。结果消化后的心肌组织3 d后,可见成纤维样细胞从组织块儿周围爬出,1周后可见小、圆、亮的细胞出现在组织块周围爬出的成纤维细胞层上。传代培养后,倒置显微镜下观察细胞形态呈较均一的梭型,可见CSCs形成的"太阳状"集落。MTT法检测表明,与对照组相比,SOL作用后的CSCs生长增殖迅速,当SOL的浓度超过1×10-3mol/L时,CSCs增殖更为显著(P<0.05)。流式细胞术检测显示,1×10-2mol/L SOL的细胞培养24 h后,c-kit+/CD45-细胞的比率达到0.976%,与对照组相比(0.301%),差异具有统计学意义(P<0.01)。结论利用酶消化可以成功从SD仔鼠心脏组织中分离培养得到c-kit+的CSCs,SOL对CSCs的体外生长和增殖有一定的促进作用。

Man-made environments such as tropical hydroelectric reservoirs alter the preexisting carbon (C) cycle and remove C from circulation through burial in sediments. Carbon burial (CB) was measured using the silica-tracer method during four field surveys in the less than six-year-old Belo Monte tropical reservoir. Fresh C sedimentation was also measured. Belo Monte’s CB median rate 276 (n = 84;min 0;max 352,625 mg C·m-2·d-1) is within the range (230 to 436 mg C·m-2·d-1) of CB rates measured further downstream at the Xingu Ria and higher than the averaged over 50 years oceanic rate 244 mg C·m-2·d
