The Cerrado region of brazil,one of the fastest-growing agricultural areas in the world,is undergoing very rapid mechanization;this development is good for the country's economy but may also snowball into substantial loss of agricultural land and other environmental degradation if the soil susceptibility and vulnerability to compaction is not well *** this study we explored different techniques for estimating soil intrinsic abilities to withstand applied pressure using the prevalent Oxisols of the Cerrado region under native *** samples were collected from three sites within the region and subjected to 1) compressibility test;2) manual penetration resistance test;3) automated penetration resistance test;and 4) packing density *** four methods produced analogous *** results showed the significant influence of soil structure on the inherent strength and compaction susceptibility of the *** also established the association of soil structure with the mineralogy of the *** is noteworthy that the packing density which was developed from very simple and easily obtained parameters could give a picture of the tendency of the soil to ***,this approach would be useful in developing compaction susceptibility maps for the *** could be concluded that most of the Oxisols in the Cerrado region would support mechanized agricultural production very ***,there is need for careful management of the mechanization process to avert *** management techniques should include conservationist practices such as no till in order to maintain as much as possible the favorable structure and drainage of these very old soils.

Galactic open clusters （OCs） that survive the early gas-expulsion phase are gradually de- stroyed over time by the action of disruptive dynamical processes. Their final evolutionary stages are characterized by a poorly populated concentration of stars called an open cluster remnant （OCR）. This study is devoted to assessing the real physical nature of the OCR candidate NGC 7193. GMOS/Gemini spectroscopy of 53 stars in the inner target region were obtained to derive radial velocities and at- mospheric parameters. We also employed photometric and proper motion data. The analysis method consists of the following steps：（i） analysis of the statistical resemblance between the cluster and a set of field samples with respect to the sequences defined in color-magnitude diagrams （CMDs）; （ii） a 5-dimensional iterative exclusion routine was employed to identify outliers from kinematical and posi- tional data; （iii） isochrone fitting to thes× （J - Ks） CMD of the remaining stars and the dispersion of spectral types along empirical sequences in the （J - H） × （H - Ks） diagram were checked. A group of stars was identified for which the mean heliocentric distance is compatible with that obtained via isochrone fitting and whose metallicities are compatible with each other. fifteen of the member stars observed spectroscopically were identified together with another 19 probable members. Our results indi- cate that NGC 7193 is a genuine OCR, of a once very populous OC, for which the following parameters were derived： d = 501±46 pc, t = 2.5±1.2 Gyr, （[fe/H]） = -0.17±0.23 and E（b-V） = 0.05±0.05. Its luminosity and mass functions show depletion of low mass stars, confirming the OCR is in a dynam- ically evolved state.

Ovarian cancer(OC)is associated with poor outcomes and challenges scientists and *** is usually diagnosed in advanced stages when it is frequently aggressive,chemoresistant,and *** most prevalent form of OC is epithelial ovarian cancer(EOC),which displays significant heterogeneity,enhancing the difficulty in managing the *** factors have been associated with the disease’s development and progression,especially those related to the tumor microenvironment(TME).Here,we highlight components of the ovarian TME in the disease development process,including pro-inflammatory pathways activated by interleukins,cytokines and chemokines,cancer-associated fibroblasts,tumor-associated macrophages,and epithelial-mesenchymal *** compiled evidence identifying TME factors promoting the development,chemoresistance,and metastasis,including cytokines,chemokines,growth factors,and tumor-associated *** identify potential targets for treatment and improving *** targets block or alter pathways associated with OC(especially EOC)progression.

bACKGROUND Shoulder maneuvers and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)are performed to diagnose supraspinatus tendon tears regardless of arthroscopy *** there are many studies on this subject,there is a lack of studies comparing the sensitivity(Se)and specificity(Sp)of shoulder maneuvers and MRI to arthroscopic findings(intact,partial,or full thickness supraspinatus tendon tear).AIM To compare the diagnostic values of shoulder maneuvers with MRI for supraspinatus tendon tears in patients undergoing shoulder *** A total of 199 consecutive patients from four orthopedic centers met the eligibility criteria of shoulder pain persisting for at least four *** were prospectively enrolled in this study from April 2017 to April *** clinical tests(full can,empty can,drop arm,Hawkins’,painful arc,Neer’s sign and resisted external rotation)and MRI were performed,and all were compared with surgical *** can,empty can and resisted external rotation tests were interpreted as positive in the case of pain and/or *** assessed the Se,Sp,accuracy,positive predictive value(PPV)and negative predictive value(NPV),positive and negative likelihood ratio and diagnostic odds ratio for overall,partial and fullthickness supraspinatus *** MRI had the highest Se for overall(0.97),partial(0.91)and full-thickness(0.99)tears;moreover,MRI had the highest NPV:0.90,0.88 and 0.98 for overall,partial and full-thickness tears,*** overall supraspinatus tears,the Se and PPV were:Painful arc(Se=0.85/PPV=0.91),empty can(pain)(Se=0.80/PPV=0.89),full can(pain)(Se=0.78/PPV=0.90),resisted external rotation(pain)(Se=0.48/PPV=0.87),drop arm(Se=0.19/PPV=0.97),Neer’s sign(Se=0.78/PPV=0.93)and Hawkins’(Se=0.80/PPV=0.88).MRI had the highest PPV(0.99).The Hawkin’s test had the highest false positive rate in patients with intact tendons(0.36).The Sp of the empty can and full can(both tests positive for pain and weakness),drop arm and MRI were:0.93,

Physiological Effect of Kinetin on the Photosynthetic Apparatus and Antioxidant Enzymes Activities During Production of Anthurium

The results observed in the literature raise the hypothesis according to which cytokinin plays important roles in photosynthetic metabolisms and antioxidant enzymes. Thus, the study aimed to evaluate the effect of foliar application of the isolated cytokinin kinetin at the production cycle, seeking to analyze its effects on enzyme activity and photosynthetic parameters. The plants treated with CK presented reduction of leaf CO_2 assimilation rate(Pn) and stomatal conductance(Gs), while that transpiration rate(Tr) was unaffected. The internal CO_2 concentrations decreased with the increase in cytokinin levels, but were maintained under CK 50 mg·L^(-1). The plants treated with CK 75 mg·L^(-1) was verified higher carboxylation efficiency(Pn/Ci), which was associated to values of CO_2 assimilation and transpiration unaltered. Apparent electron transport rate showed variations in the concentration of 25 mg·L^(-1). Considering the study of enzyme activity, on the other hand, it cannot be stated that kinetin has an effective action in delaying oxidative damage. It presents mixed results, since an efficiency in the application of cytokinin was not observed, presenting induction levels of ascorbate peroxidase activity. Thus, further research is needed to determine more precisely the effects of kinetin on gas exchange and antioxidant enzymes in anthurium plants.

Aims Our objective was to quantify the contributions of the seed bank and the established vegetation to the species composition,functional composition and diversity,and discuss the implications of these differences in regeneration and persistence of floodplain plant *** We sampled all ground cover vegetation up to 1.5 m height and seed bank in 25 plots(10 m×1 m)distributed across five sites in dry and rainy seasons in a periodically flooded savanna in the Pantanal wetland,*** evaluated the soil seed bank by seedling emergence *** findings The seed bank species had traits that conferred regeneration to the communities,while persistence traits characterized the *** seed bank had higher functional richness and lower functional evenness than the *** existence of different plant traits between seed bank and vegetation allowed the coexistence of species with functionally contrasting persistence and regeneration traits,which may help maintain functional *** may allow the community to be more resilient when dealing with different environmental filters such as drought,fire and flood.

Stem cell therapy is a promising approach to clinical healing in several diseases. A great variety of tissues(bone marrow, adipose tissue, and placenta) arepotentially sources of stem cells. Placenta-derived stem cells(p-SCs) are in between embryonic and mesenchymal stem cells, sharing characteristics with both, such as non-carcinogenic status and property to differentiate in all embryonic germ layers. Moreover, their use is not ethically restricted as fetal membranes are considered medical waste after birth. In this context, the present review will be focused on the biological properties, culture and potential cell therapy uses of placental-derived stem cells. Immunophenotype characterization, mainly for surface marker expression, and basic principles of p-SC isolation and culture(mechanical separation or enzymatic digestion of the tissues, the most used culture media, cell plating conditions) will be presented. In addition, some preclinical studies that were performed in different medical areas will be cited, focusing on neurological, liver, pancreatic, heart, muscle, pulmonary, and bone diseases and also in tissue engineering field. finally, some challenges for stem cell therapy applications will be highlighted. The understanding of the mechanisms involved in the p-SCs differentiation and the achievement of pure cell populations(after differentiation) are key points that must be clarified before bringing the preclinical studies, performed at the bench, to the medical practice.
