To exploit the parallelism of optics in data processing, a suitable number system and an efficient encoding/decoding scheme for handling the data are very essential. In the field of optical computing and parallel information processing, several number systems like binary, quaternary, octal, hexadecimal, etc. have been used for different arithmetic and algebraic operations. Here, we have proposed an all-optical conversion scheme from its binary to its other 2^n radix based form with the help of terahertz optical asymmetric demultiplexer （TOAD） based tree-net architecture.

Two fast-growing Indian species, Melia composita Benth. and Eucalyptus tereticornis Sm., which have different sets of physical properties, were dried together in a vacuum press dryer(VPD) under two drying conditions,i.e., above boiling point(ABP) and below boiling point(BBP). The ABP and BBP conditions were maintained by keeping the temperature constant at 75 ℃ and maintaining two pressure levels: 300 mm of Hg(ABP) and 450 mm of Hg(BBP). In order to understand pressure conditions at the core during vacuum drying, a cylindrical brass pipe was inserted in both wood cores and attached with pressure gauges placed outside of the VPD. The results indicate that the Melia wood core attained equilibrium pressure immediately with the pressure of VPD, while Eucalyptus attained it very slowly, reaching equilibrium at later stages of drying when cracks and checks advanced to the *** drying rate was higher for Melia than Eucalyptus under both drying conditions. The drying rate of Melia(ABP) was higher than Melia(BBP), however, the drying rate for Eucalyptus(ABP) was not significantly different from the BBP drying rate.

In the field of optical interconnecting network and in super fast photonic computing system, the tree architecture and optical nonlinear materials can play a significant role. Nonlinear optical material may find important uses in optical switching. Optical switch using nonlinear material makes it possible for one optical signal to control and switch another optical signal through nonlinear interaction in a material. In this communication such materials have been successfully exploited to design an all-optical tree-net architecture, which can be utilized for time division multiplexing scheme in all-optical domain.

In this paper,the temperature distribution in the multi-layer of the skin is studied when the skin surface is subjected to most generalized boundary *** skin model consists of three layers known as the epidermis,dermis,and subcutaneous *** layers of skin are assumed to be connected with point of interface condition and taking the barrier in between each of the two layers by symmetric flux condition and analyzing each layer *** classical Fourier and non-Fourier(DPL)models are extended to analyze the behavior of heat transfer in the multi-layer of the *** Laplace transform technique is used to derive analytical solutions for the multi-layer of skin *** effects of the variability of different parameters such as relaxation time,layer thickness,and different types of boundary conditions on the behavior of temperature distribution in the multi-layer of skin are analyzed and discussed in *** the effects are shown *** has been observed that during temperature distribution in the multi-layer of skin,the measurement of skin damage is less on the DPL model(rq>Tt)in comparison to the classical Fourier model.

Grass pea(Lathyrus sativus L.) is a crop that is considered one of the more resilient to climate change. With protein-rich seeds and leaves, it has strong potential as human food as well as animal feed and fodder. However, genetic improvement in this crop remains stagnant owing to the poor characterization of its genetic resources. In this study, we characterized 118 accessions of grass pea with 18 EST-SSR markers. A total of 118 accessions, 101 of L. sativus(100 cultivated accessions from Bangladesh and one wild accession) and 17 wild accessions of other Lathyrus species, were used. A total of 67 alleles were detected, with an average of 3.72 alleles per locus and average polymorphism information content of 0.52. A dissimilarity matrix was formed and hierarchical cluster analysis performed using the UPGMA method grouped genotypes into four main clusters. Cluster analysis based on the genetic dissimilarity revealed a clear grouping of the 100 cultivated and 18 wild accessions into four main groups. Group I consisted of 20 accessions with high β-N-oxalyl-L-α,β-diaminopropionic acid(β-ODAP) concentration. Of these 20 accessions, 17 were wild accessions. Only one wild accession(L. cicera) was clustered in group II, which contained 35 accessions. Most of the group II accessions contained low β-ODAP. Group III was represented by 34 accessions, many of them with high β-ODAP. Group IV consisted of 29 accessions, a few of which had very high β-ODAP concentrations. Analysis of molecular variance of the microsatellite data showed significantly higher values of molecular variance between(83%) than within(17%) populations. These characterized accessions will be useful in grass pea breeding programs.

In this study,Al–Zn and Al–Mg coatings were deposited on steel substrates by an arc thermal spray process.X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy were used to characterize the deposited coatings and corrosion *** circuit potential（OCP）,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy,and potentiodynamic studies were used to assess the corrosion characteristics of these coatings after exposure according to the Society of Automotive Engineers（SAE）J2334 solution of varying *** solution simulates an industrial environment and contains chloride and carbonate ions that induce corrosion of the deposited ***,the Al–Mg alloy coating maintained an OCP of approximately-0.911 V versus Ag/Ag Cl in the SAE J2334 solution even after 792 h of *** indicates that it protects the steel sacrificially,whereas the Al–Zn coating provides only barrier-type protection through the deposition of corrosion *** Al–Mg coating acts as a self-healing coating and provides protection by forming Mg_6Al_2（OH）_（16）CO_3（Al–Mg layered double hydroxides）.Mg_6Al_2（OH）_（16）CO_3has interlocking characteristics with a morphology of plate-like nanostructures and an ion-exchange ability that can improve the corrosion resistance properties of the *** presence of Zn in the corrosion products of the Al–Zn coating allows dissolution,but,at the same time,Zn_5（OH）_6（CO_3）_2and Zn_6Al_2（OH）_（16）CO_3are formed and act to reduce the corrosion rate.

Arsenic(As)-toxicity is recognized as one of the major environmental problems,affecting productivity of crops worldwide,thereby threatening sustainable agriculture and food *** in nanotechnology and its impacts have brought up concerns about the application of engineered nanoparticles(NPs)in various sectors of the economy,including the field of *** various NPs,there has been a rising amount of interest regarding the effects of titanium NPs(TiNPs)on plants growth and development,and their fate of abiotic stress ***,the present study was aimed to assess the ameliorative potentialities of chemically and biologically/green synthesized TiNPs to alleviate As-induced toxic responses in Vigna radiata *** results revealed that exposure to As hindered the growth indices(radicle length and biomass)and membrane integrity,while were improved with the application of chemical and green synthesized *** addition,treatment of As provoked the accretion of reactive oxygen species(superoxide and hydrogen peroxide)and malondialdehyde(a lipid per oxidized product),but were diminished by the supplementation of chemical and green manufactured *** experimental data also signified that exogenous application of chemical and green synthesized TiNPs conferred tolerance to As-induced oxidative injuries via perking-up the expressions of antioxidant genes and enzyme systems viz;superoxide dismutase and ***,the present study inferred that chemically and green synthesized TiNPs,particularly green manufactured,effectively mitigated the adverse impacts of As by augmenting antioxidant machinery,thereby proving its potentiality in the alleviation of As-toxicity,at least in Vignaradiata L.

In this research,we proposed a non-linear SIS model to study the effect of variable interaction rates and non-emigrating population of the human habitat on the spread of bacteria-infected *** assumed that the growth of bacteria is logistic with an intrinsic growth rate is a linear function of *** this model,we assume that contact rates between susceptibles and infectives as well as between susceptibles and bacteria depend on the density of the non-emigrating population and the total population of the *** stability theory has been analyzed to analyzed to study the crucial role played by bacteria in the increased spread of an infectious *** is shown that as the density of non-emigrating population increases,the spread of an infectious disease *** is shown further that as the emigration increases,the spread of the disease decreases in both the cases of contact mentioned above rates,but this spread increases as these contact rates *** suggested that the control of bacteria in the human habitat is very useful to decrease the spread of an infectious *** results are confirmed by numerical simulation.

An Improved Methodology to Overcome Key Issues in Human Fecal Metagenomic DNA Extraction

Microbes are ubiquitously distributed in nature, and recent culture-independent studies have highlighted the significance of gut microbiota in human health and disease. Fecal DNA is the primary source for the majority of human gut microbiome studies. However, further improvement is needed to obtain fecal metagenomic DNA with sufficient amount and good quality but low host genomic DNA contamination. In the current study, we demonstrate a quick, robust, unbiased, and cost-effective method for the isolation of high molecular weight （〉 23 kb） metagenomic DNA （260/280 ratio 〉 1.8） with a good yield （55.8 ± 3.8 ng/mg of feces）. We also confirm that there is very low human genomic DNA contamination （eubacterial： human genomic DNA marker genes = 227.9：1） in the human feces. The newly-developed method robustly performs for fresh as well as stored fecal samples as demonstrated by 16S rRNA gene sequencing using 454 FLX＋. Moreover, 16S rRNA gene analysis indicated that compared to other DNA extraction methods tested, the fecal metagenomic DNA isolated with current methodology retains species richness and does not show microbial diversity biases, which is further confirmed by qPCR with a known quantity of spike-in genomes. Overall, our data highlight a protocol with a balance between quality, amount, user-friendliness, and cost effectiveness for its suitability toward usage for cultureindependent analysis of the human gut microbiome, which provides a robust solution to overcome key issues associated with fecal metagenomic DNA isolation in human gut microbiome studies.

Oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is the key step involved both in water splitting devices and rechargeable metal-air batteries,and hence,there is an urgent need for a stable and low-cost material for efficient *** the present investigation,Co-Fe-Ga-NiZn(CFGNZ)high entropy alloy(HEA)has been utilized as a low-cost electrocatalyst for ***,after cyclic voltammetry activation,CFGNZ-nanoparticles(NPs)are covered with oxidized surface and form high entropy(oxy)hydroxides(HEOs),exhibiting a low overpotential of 370 mV to achieve a current density of 10 mA/cm^(2)with a small Tafel slope of 71 mV/*** alloy has higher electrochemical stability in comparison to state-of-the art RuO2 electrocatalyst as no degradation has been observed up to 10 h of *** electron microscopy(TEM)studies after 10 h of long-term chronoamperometry test showed no change in the crystal structure,which confirmed the high stability of *** density functional theory(DFT)based calculations show that the closeness of d(p)-band centers to the Fermi level(EF)plays a major role in determining active *** work highlights the tremendous potential of CFGNZ HEA for OER,which is the primary reaction involved in water splitting.
