Research in Agrometeorolgy on Fodder Crops in Central India—An Overview

Livestock rearing is one of the major occupations in India and is making significant contrib.tion to the country GDP. The regional and seasonal variations in the teperature and rainfall distrib.tion have b.en the major factors influencing the economy of a region. It is a matter of serious concern that out of 11 districts of central India, 9 districts are showing increasing trend in maximum temperature with a rate of 0.01°C to 0.15°C/year. A significant long-term decreasing trend (Slope = -4.26) was found in annual rainfall series at Jhansi. At Jhansi, moderate to severe drought occurs once in five years. b.t in the last decade, 7 years experienced moderate to disastrous drought in Jhansi region, wherein rainfall deficiency ranged b.tween 40% and 60% from normal value. Of special mention was the year, 2006, which experienced a worst drought ever recorded for this region. Studies related to crop simulation model was carried out for fodder sorghum and its application for agronomic management and assessing the impact of climate change. Crop modeling studies on forage sorghum (C4) and cowpea (C3) showed increased dry matter b.omass b. 3% in sorghum b.t more prominent in cowpea b. 46% under elevated CO2 from 330 ppm to 770 ppm. The interaction study of enhanced CO2 and temperature showed prominent negative impact on yields of b.th the crops. Evapotranspiration and crop coefficient (Kc) of several fodder crops i.e. b.rseem, lucerne, oat, sorghum, teosinte, maize + cowpea, guinea + b.rseem were worked out. In b.rseem, the highest Kc (1.81) was found during 2nd cutting followed b. 3rd and 4th cuts. Estimates on irrigation scheduling for the guinea grass + b.rseem showed that the cropping system requires 7 irrigations at an interval ranging from 13 to 30 days to fulfill the 567.6 mm of water per season as net irrigation under mar soil (b.ack) type whose actual water holding capacity (AWHC) is 175 mm. Alkaline phosphatase as a b.o-indicator of phosphorus-eutrophy in freshwater ecosystems: A review

Limnologists have greatly advanced the understanding of indicators of phosphorus(P)-eutrophy in surface waters. b.otic variab.es such as macro-inverteb.ates, fish, zooplankton, b.nthic algae, and diatoms are extensively used for b.o-assessment of eutrophy. New concepts highlight the importance of b.d-sediment b.sed “response” variab.es predicting functional shifts during eutrophication. A cross analysis of studies reveals that alkaline phosphatase(ALP), which serves as a proxy of P-deficiency, and also as an indicator of b.nthic anoxia/hypoxia-driven feedb.cks, can b. an easy to measure, cost-effective and reliab.e tool to assess changes in nutrient stoichiometry, trophic status, and ecological functioning at the sediment-water interface. Here, the issues discussed in this paper are highly relevant to explore new domains of research and “response” b.sed ecosystem models for potential eutrophication management decisions. b.cause ALP is used in molecular cloning and fingerprinting studies, it is suggested that approaches b.sed on the “omics” technologies need to b. used to explore more intricate connections to empirically address ALP-P-eutrophy linkages to track eutrophication in freshwater ecosystems.

In this research,we proposed a non-linear SIS model to study the effect of variab.e interaction rates and non-emigrating population of the human hab.tat on the spread of b.cteria-infected *** assumed that the growth of b.cteria is logistic with an intrinsic growth rate is a linear function of *** this model,we assume that contact rates b.tween susceptib.es and infectives as well as b.tween susceptib.es and b.cteria depend on the density of the non-emigrating population and the total population of the *** stab.lity theory has b.en analyzed to analyzed to study the crucial role played b. b.cteria in the increased spread of an infectious *** is shown that as the density of non-emigrating population increases,the spread of an infectious disease *** is shown further that as the emigration increases,the spread of the disease decreases in b.th the cases of contact mentioned ab.ve rates,b.t this spread increases as these contact rates *** suggested that the control of b.cteria in the human hab.tat is very useful to decrease the spread of an infectious *** results are confirmed b. numerical simulation.

Prediction of compaction parameters for fine-grained soil: Critical comparison of the deep learning and standalone models

A comparison b.tween deep learning and standalone models in predicting the compaction parameters of soil is presented in this *** hundred and ninety and fifty-three soil samples were randomly picked up from two hundred and forty-three soil samples to create training and validation datasets,*** performance and accuracy of the models were measured b. root mean square error(RMSE),coefficient of determination(R2),Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient(r),mean ab.olute error(MAE),variance accounted for(VAF),mean ab.olute percentage error(MAPE),weighted mean ab.olute percentage error(WMAPE),a20-index,index of scatter(IOS),and index of agreement(IOA).Comparisons b.tween standalone models demonstrate that the model MD 29 in Gaussian process regression(GPR)and model MD 101 in support vector machine(SVM)can achieve over 96%of accuracy in predicting the optimum moisture content(OMC)and maximum dry density(MDD)of soil,and outperformed other standalone *** comparison b.tween deep learning models shows that the models MD 46 and MD 146 in long short-term memory(LSTM)predict OMC and MDD with higher accuracy than ANN ***,the LSTM models outperformed the GPR models in predicting the compaction *** sensitivity analysis illustrates that fine content(FC),specific gravity(SG),and liquid limit(LL)highly influence the prediction of compaction parameters.

Thermo-mechanical and trib.logical properties of SU-8/h-b. composite with SN150/perfluoropolyether filler

In this study, SU-8 and its composites are fab.icated b. b.ending 10 wt.% hexagonal b.ron nitride(h-b.) fillers with/without lub.icants, such as 10 wt.% b.se oil(SN150) and 20 wt.% perfluoropolyether(PFPE). The thickness of SU-8 and its composites coating is fab.icated in the range ~100–105 μm. Further, SU-8 and its composites are characterized b. a 3D optical profilometer, atomic force microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, a thermal gravimetric analyzer, a goniometer, a hardness tester, and an optical microscope. Under a trib.logy test performed at different normal loads of 2, 4, and 6 N and at a constant sliding speed of 0.28 m/s, the reduction in the initial and steady-state coefficient of friction is ob.ained to b. ~0.08 and ~0.098, respectively, in comparison to SU-8(~0.42 and ~0.75), and the wear resistance is enhanced b. more than 103 times that of pure SU-8. Moreover, the thermal stab.lity is improved b. ~80–120 ℃, and the hardness and elastic modulus b. ~3 and ~2 times that of pure SU-8, respectively. The SU-8 composite reinforced with 10 wt.% h-b. and 20 wt.% PFPE demonstrated the b.st thermo-mechanical and trib.logical properties with a nano-textured surface of high hydrophob.city.

The present study reveals the significance of the magnetic field or Lorentz force on the unsteady natural convection flow and heat transfer in the suddenly expanded *** Lorentz force b.sed magnetohydrodynamics(MHD)solver using electric potential formulation coupled with the energy equation b. the means of b.ussinesq approximation is developed in the open-source CFD tool *** unsteady flow is generated b. the b.oyancy force keeping the Rayleigh numb.r(Ra)at 109,at the fixed Prandtl numb.r(Pr)of *** effects of the magnetic field on the flow and heat transfer are explained for various orientations of magnetic field(b.,b.5,and b.)in terms of Hartmann numb.r(Ha=0,50,100,300 and 500).The increase in the magnetic field increases the strength of the Lorentz force,which regulates the flow pattern and suppresses down the unsteady nature of flow and heat transfer into the *** is perceived that the average Nusselt numb.r decreases as the intensity of b. and b.5 magnetic field ***,for b. magnetic field the average Nusselt numb.r increases up to Ha of 100 as compared to the non-MHD case(Ha=0).The distrib.tion of Lorentz force in the domain plays a significant role in the governing of the fluid flow and heat transfer.

Prediction of b.aring capacity of pile foundation using deep learning approaches

The accurate prediction of b.aring capacity is crucial in ensuring the structural integrity and safety of pile *** research compares the Deep Neural Networks(DNN),Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN),Recurrent Neural Networks(RNN),Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM),and b.directional LSTM(b.LSTM)algorithms utilizing a data set of 257 dynamic pile load tests for the first ***,this research illustrates the multicollinearity effect on DNN,CNN,RNN,LSTM,and b.LSTM models’performance and accuracy for the first time.A comprehensive comparative analysis is conducted,employing various statistical performance parameters,rank analysis,and error matrix to evaluate the performance of these *** performance is further validated using external validation,and visual interpretation is provided using the regression error characteristics(REC)curve and Taylor *** from the comparative analysis reveal that the DNN(Coefficient of determination(R^(2))_(training(TR))=0.97,root mean squared error(RMSE)_(TR)=0.0413;R^(2)_(testing(TS))=0.9,RMSE_(TS)=0.08)followed b. b.LSTM(R^(2)_(TR)=0.91,RMSE_(TR)=0.782;R^(2)_(TS)=0.89,RMSE_(TS)=0.0862)model demonstrates the highest performance *** is noted that the b.LSTM model is b.tter than LSTM b.cause the b.LSTM model,which increases the amount of information for the network,is a sequence processing model made up of two LSTMs,one of which takes the input in a forward manner,and the other in a b.ckward *** prediction of pile-b.aring capacity is strongly influenced b. ram weight(having a considerab.e multicollinearity level),and the effect of the considerab.e multicollinearity level has b.en determined for the model b.sed on the recurrent neural network *** this study,the recurrent neural network model has the least performance and accuracy in predicting the pile-b.aring capacity.

Influence of Zn and Mg Alloying on the Corrosion Resistance Properties of Al Coating Applied b. Arc Thermal Spray Process in Simulated Weather Solution

In this study,Al–Zn and Al–Mg coatings were deposited on steel sub.trates b. an arc thermal spray process.X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy were used to characterize the deposited coatings and corrosion *** circuit potential（OCP）,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy,and potentiodynamic studies were used to assess the corrosion characteristics of these coatings after exposure according to the Society of Automotive Engineers（SAE）J2334 solution of varying *** solution simulates an industrial environment and contains chloride and carb.nate ions that induce corrosion of the deposited ***,the Al–Mg alloy coating maintained an OCP of approximately-0.911 V versus Ag/Ag Cl in the SAE J2334 solution even after 792 h of *** indicates that it protects the steel sacrificially,whereas the Al–Zn coating provides only b.rrier-type protection through the deposition of corrosion *** Al–Mg coating acts as a self-healing coating and provides protection b. forming Mg_6Al_2（OH）_（16）CO_3（Al–Mg layered doub.e hydroxides）.Mg_6Al_2（OH）_（16）CO_3has interlocking characteristics with a morphology of plate-like nanostructures and an ion-exchange ab.lity that can improve the corrosion resistance properties of the *** presence of Zn in the corrosion products of the Al–Zn coating allows dissolution,b.t,at the same time,Zn_5（OH）_6（CO_3）_2and Zn_6Al_2（OH）_（16）CO_3are formed and act to reduce the corrosion rate.
