Ferroptosis offers a novel method for overcoming therapeutic resistance of cancers to conventional cancer treatment *** effective use as a cancer therapy requires a precisely targeted approach,which can be facilitated by using nanoparticles and nanomedicine,and their use to enhance ferroptosis is indeed a growing area of *** a few review papers have been published on iron-dependent mechanism and inducers of ferroptosis cancer therapy that partly covers ferroptosis nanoparticles,there is a need for a comprehensive review focusing on the design of magnetic nanoparticles that can typically supply iron ions to promote ferroptosis and simultaneously enable targeted ferroptosis cancer ***,magnetic nanoparticles can locally induce ferroptosis and combinational ferroptosis with diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).The use of remotely controllable magnetic nanocarriers can offer highly effective localized image-guided ferroptosis cancer ***,recent developments in magnetically manipulable nanocarriers for ferroptosis cancer nanomedicine with medical imaging are *** review also highlights the advantages of current state-of-the-art image-guided ferroptosis cancer ***,image guided combinational ferroptosis cancer therapy with conventional apoptosis-based therapy that enables synergistic tumor therapy is discussed for clinical translations.

Wound healing in cases of excessive inflammation poses a significant challenge due to compromised ***,we propose a multi-functional composite hydrogel engineered to overcome such conditions through recruitment and activation of macrophages with adapted degradation of the *** composite hydrogel(G-TSrP)is created by combining gelatin methacryloyl(GelMA)and nanoparticles(TSrP)composed of tannic acid(TA)and Sr^(2+).These nanoparticles are prepared using a one-step mineralization process assisted by metal-phenolic network formation.G-TSrP exhibits the ability to eliminate reactive oxygen species and direct polarization of macrophages toward M2 *** has been observed that the liberation of TA and Sr^(2+)from G-TSrP actively facilitate the recruitment and up-regulation of the expression of extracellular matrix remodeling genes of macrophages,and thereby,coordinate in vivo adapted degradation of the *** significantly,G-TSrP accelerates angiogenesis despite the TA’s inhibitory properties,which are counteracted by the released Sr^(2+).Moreover,G-TSrP enhances wound closure under inflammation and promotes normal tissue formation with strong vessel *** analysis confirms macrophage-mediated wound healing by the composite ***,these findings pave the way for the development of biomaterials that promote wound healing by creating regenerative environment.

Comprehensive molecular characterization to predict immunotherapy response in advanced biliary tract cancer:a phase II trial of pembrolizumab

Background:Immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs)are effective in a subset of patients with metastatic solid ***,the patients who would benefit most from ICIs in biliary tract cancer(BTC)are still *** and methods:We molecularly characterized tissues and blood from 32 patients with metastatic BTC treated with the ICI pembrolizumab as second-line ***:All patients had microsatellite stable(MSS)type *** of the 32 patients achieved partial response(PR),with an objective response rate(ORR)of 9.4%(95%confidence interval[CI],2.0–25.2)and nine showed stable disease(SD),exhibiting a disease control rate(DCR)of 37.5%(95%CI,21.1–56.3).For the 31 patients who had access to PD-1 ligand 1(PD-L1)combined positive score(CPS)testing(cut-off value≥1%),the ORR was not different between those who had PD-L1-positive(PD-L1+;1/11,9.1%)and PDL1-(2/20,10.0%)tumors(p=1.000).The tumor mutational burden(TMB)of PD-L1+BTC was comparable to that of PD-L1-BTC(p=0.630).TMB and any exonic somatic mutations were also not predictive of pembrolizumab *** analysis of blood and tumor samples demonstrated a relatively high natural killer(NK)cell proportion in the peripheral blood before pembrolizumab treatment in patients who achieved tumor ***,the tumors of these patients presented high enrichment scores for NK cells,antitumor cytokines,and Th1 signatures,and a low enrichment score for cancer-associated ***:This study shows the molecular characteristics associated with the efficacy of pembrolizumab in BTC of the MSS type.

Machine Learning-Based Detection and Selective Mitigation of Denial-of-Service Attacks in Wireless Sensor Networks

As the density of wireless networks increases globally, the vulnerability of overlapped dense wireless communications to interference by hidden nodes and denial-of-service (DoS) attacks is becoming more apparent. There exists a gap in research on the detection and response to attacks on Medium Access Control (MAC) mechanisms themselves, which would lead to service outages between nodes. Classifying exploitation and deceptive jamming attacks on control mechanisms is particularly challengingdue to their resemblance to normal heavy communication patterns. Accordingly, this paper proposes a machine learning-based selective attack mitigation model that detects DoS attacks on wireless networks by monitoring packet log data. Based on the type of detected attack, it implements effective corresponding mitigation techniques to restore performance to nodes whose availability has been compromised. Experimental results reveal that the accuracy of the proposed model is 14% higher than that of a baseline anomaly detection model. Further, the appropriate mitigation techniques selected by the proposed system based on the attack type improve the average throughput by more than 440% compared to the case without a response.

Single π0electro-production in the resonance region with CLAS＊

We report the analysis status of single π0electroproduction in the resonance region to study the electromagnetic excitation of the nucleon resonances. The study is aimed at understanding of the internal structure and dynamics of the nucleon. The experiment was performed using an unpolarized cryogenic hydrogen target and 2.0 and 5.8 GeV polarized electron beam during the ele and e1-6 run periods with CLAS at Jefferson Lab. The new measurements will produce a data base with high statistics and large kinematic coverage for the hadronic invariant mass （W） up to 2.0 CeV in the momentum transfer （Q2） range of 0.3--6.0 GeV2. Preliminary results will be presented and compared with the various model calculations.

Formulation of Reduction Rate for Ultimate Compressive Strength of Stiffened Panel Induced by Opening

The main objective of this study is to numerically investigate the characteristics of ultimate compressive strength of stiffened panels with opening and also to fit the design-oriented formulae. For this purpose, three series of well executed experimental data on longitudinally stiffened steel plates with and without opening subjected to the uniform axial in-pane load which is carried out to study the buckling and post-buckling up to the final failure are chosen. Also, a nonlinear finite element method capable of efficiently analyzing the large elasto-plastic deflection behavior of stiffened panels is developed and used for simulation. The feasibility of the present simulation process is confirmed by a good agreement with the experimental results. More case studies are developed employing the simulation process to analyze the influence of various design variables on the reduction rate of ultimate strength of stiffened panel induced by opening. Based on the computed results, two design formulae are fitted and the accuracy of design formulae is studied. Furthermore, the viability of the design formulae for practical engineering is proved.

Stable carbon and nitrogen isotopic composition of gas hydrate-bearing sediment from Hydrate Ridge,Cascadia Margin

54 sediments were sampled at 5 sites, 1244, 1245, 1246,1250 and 1251 from ODPLeg 204, Hydrate Ridge, Cascadia Margin. The stable carbon and nitrogen isotopic composition,δ^(13)C of organic matter and δ^(15)N, have been used to characterize the depositional variationof sediments with gas hydrate bearing. Values of δ^(13)C of bulk organic matter range between-22.37 per thousand and -24.72 per thousand PDB, with a mean value of -23.54 ± 1.17 per thousandPDB; δ^(15)N of the same sedimentary samples range from 3.30 per thousand to 5.68 per thousand,with a mean value of 4.49 ± 1.19 per thousand; Values of C/N ratio range from 4.53 to 9.26, with amean value of 6.90 ± 2.37. The occurrence of gas hydrate changed the diagenetic evolution trend ofthe carbon and nitrogen in organic matter. The δ^(15)N and C/N ratio depletion suggest that thenitrogen fixation related with the bacteria/archaea maybe occurred in the sediments near thehydrate. The stable carbon and nitrogen isotopic composition could be used to evaluate thedepositional environment in the study area.

Synthesis of high-performance nickel hydroxide nanosheets/gadolinium doped-α-MnO_(2) composite nanorods as cathode and Fe_(3)O_(4)/GO nanospheres as anode for an all-solid-state asymmetric supercapacitor

The wide use of manganese dioxide(MnO_(2))as an electrode in all-solid-state asymmetric supercapacitors(ASCs)remains challenging because of its low electrical *** complication can be circumvented by introducing trivalent gadolinium(Gd)ions into the MnO_(2).Herein,we describe the successful hydrothermal synthesis of crystalline Gd-doped MnO_(2) nanorods with Ni(OH)_(2) nanosheets as cathode,which we combined with Fe_(3)O_(4)/GO nanospheres as anode for all-solid-state *** tests dem on strate that Gd dopi ng sign ifica ntly affected the electrochemical activities of the MnO_(2),which was further enhanced by introducing Ni(OH)_(2).The GdMnO_(2)/Ni(OH)_(2) electrode offers sufficient surface electrochemical activity and exhibits excellent specific capacity of 121.8 mA h g^(-1),at 1A g^(-1),appealing rate performance,and ultralong lifetime stability(99.3%retention after 10,000 discharge tests).Furthermore,the GdMnO_(2)/Ni(OH)_(2)//PVA/KOH//Fe_(3)O_(4)/GO solid-state ASC device offers an impressive specific energy density(60.25 W h kg^(-1))at a high power density(2332 W kg^(-1)).This investigation thus shows its large potential in developing novel approaches to energy storage devices.
