Characteristics and influencing mechanisms of production-living-ecological space dynamics in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area(TGRA),Chongqing,China

The Three Gorges Reservoir Area(TGRA)is an important ecological barrier in the Yangtze River Basin,***,it is of great importance to understand the spatio-temporal variation and the driving factors of production-living-ecological spaces for sustainable and high-quality development in the *** study investigated the dynamic variation of production-living-ecological spaces in the TGRA by employing land use data in 2000,2005,201.,201.,and 201.,and detected the influencing factors by using the Geographic detector(GeoDetector).Results implied that the structure and dynamic trajectories of production-living-ecological spaces in the TGRA varied in both horizontal and vertical directions,and the study area was dominated by ecological space.A spatial orientation towards the northeast was detected in the evolution of production-living-ecological spaces during *** terms of quantity,the transition from ecological space(grassland and woodland)to agriculture land accounted for the largest proportion from 2000 to ***,the reverse transition from agriculture land to ecological space has increased since 2000 with the efforts of“Grain for Green”.In terms of temporal scale,there was a fluctuating trend in production space with the continuous expansion of living space,while ecological space showed an inverted U-shaped trend during *** dynamic pattern of production-living-ecological spaces in the TGRA was influenced by both physical and socio-economic variables as basic determinants and dominant driving factors,***,the harmonization and protection of production-living-ecological spaces still require policy-makers’*** work may have potential in advancing our understanding about land use conflicts,and provide a reference for rational layout of spatial functions and the realization of sustainable development in the TGRA.

Analytical solutions of turbulent boundary layer beneath forward-leaning waves

As a typical nonlinear wave,forward-leaning waves can be frequently encountered in the near-shore areas,which can impact coastal sediment transport ***,it is of significance to describe the characteristics of the boundary layer beneath forward-leaning waves accurately,especially for the turbulent boundary *** this work,the linearized turbulent boundary layer model with a linear turbulent viscosity coefficient is applied,and the novel expression of the near-bed orbital velocity that has been worked out by the authors for forward-leaning waves of arbitrary forward-leaning degrees is further used to specify the free stream boundary condition of the bottom boundary ***,a variable transformation is found so as to make the equation of the turbulent boundary layer model be solved analytically through a modified Bessel ***,an explicit analytical solution of the turbulent boundary layer beneath forward-leaning waves is derived by means of variable separation and variable *** analytical solutions of the velocity profile and bottom shear stress of the turbulent boundary layer beneath forward-leaning waves are verified by comparing the present analytical results with typical experimental data available in the previous literature.

Investigation on mechanical properties regulation of rock-like specimens based on 3D printing and similarity quantification

It is highly desirable to design efficient and stable hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution/reduction reaction(OER/ORR)electrocatalysts for the development of renewable energy ***,density functional theory(DFT)calculations were conducted to systematically investigate a series of TMN_(x)O_(4-x)-HTT(TM=Fe,Co,Ni,Ru,Rh,Pd,Ir and Pt;HTT=hexahydroxy tetraazanaphthotetraphene)analogs of two-dimensional(2D)conductive metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)as potential electrocatalysts for the HER,OER and *** thermodynamic and electrochemical stability simulations suggest that these designed catalysts are ***,CoO_(4)-HTT,RhN_(3)O_(1.-HTT and IrN3O1.HTT are predicted to be the most promising catalysts for the HER,OER and ORR,respectively,surpassing the catalytic activity of corresponding benchmark *** volcano plots were established based on the scaling relationship of adsorption Gibbs free energy of *** results reveal that regulating combinations of metal active centers and local coordination environments could effectively balance the interaction strength between intermediates and catalysts,thus achieving optimal catalytic *** findings not only opt for the promising HER/OER/ORR electrocatalysts but also guide the design of efficient electrocatalysts based on 2D MOFs materials.

Seismic fragility analysis of three-tower cable-stayed bridges with different connection configurations

Seismic fragility analysis of three-tower cable-stayed bridges with three different structural systems,including rigid system(RS),floating system(FS),and passive energy dissipation system(PEDS),is conducted to study the effects of connection configurations on seismic responses and *** element models of bridges are established using OpenSees.A new ground motion screening method based on the statistical characteristic of the predominant period is proposed to avoid irregular behavior in the selection process of ground motions,and incremental dynamic analysis(IDA)is performed to develop components and systems fragility *** effects of damper failure on calculated results for PEDS are examined in terms of seismic response and fragility *** results show that the bridge tower is the most affected component by different structural *** RS,the fragility of the middle tower is significantly higher than other components,and the bridge failure starts from the middle tower,exhibiting a characteristic of local *** FS and PEDS,the fragility of the edge tower is higher than the middle *** system fragility of RS is higher than FS and *** the failure of dampers into account is necessary to obtain reliable seismic capacity of cable-stayed bridges.

A particle-resolved heat-particle-fluid coupling model by DEM-IMB-LBM

Multifield coupling is frequently encountered and also an active area of research in geotechnical *** this work,a particle-resolved direct numerical simulation(PR-DNS)technique is extended to simulate particle-fluid interaction problems involving heat transfer at the grain *** this extended technique,an immersed moving boundary(IMB)scheme is used to couple the discrete element method(DEM)and lattice Boltzmann method(LBM),while a recently proposed Dirichlet-type thermal boundary condition is also adapted to account for heat transfer between fluid phase and solid *** resulting DEM-IBM-LBM model is robust to simulate moving curved boundaries with constant temperature in thermal *** facilitate the understanding and implementation of this coupled model for non-isothermal problems,a complete list is given for the conversion of relevant physical variables to lattice ***,benchmark tests,including a single-particle sedimentation and a two-particle drafting-kissing-tumbling(DKT)simulation with heat transfer,are carried out to validate the accuracy of our coupled *** further investigate the role of heat transfer in particle-laden flows,two multiple-particle problems with heat transfer are *** examples demonstrate that the proposed coupling model is a promising high-resolution approach for simulating the heat-particle-fluid coupling at the grain level.

The genus Scincella Mittleman,1.50,within the family Scincidae,is a diverse group comprising 39 described *** taxonomy of the genus is complex due to morphological similarities among species,which often obscures the true extent of biodiversity,resulting in several undescribed species requiring further *** China,particularly within the unique ecosystems of the Hengduan Mountains,the diversity of Scincella is notably underestimated,with only 1. species currently *** the present study,we describe a new species of the genus Scincella,Scincella liangshanensis ***.,from Sichuan Province,Southwest *** characteristics and phylogenetic analyses revealed that the putative new species is distinct from all other known *** discovery not only expands the known diversity of Scincella but also emphasizes the inadequacies in our current understanding of herpetological diversity in *** addition of this species to the scientific record highlights the necessity for ongoing biodiversity assessments to uncover hidden species and enhance our understanding of the intricate web of life in one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots.

Photocatalytic water oxidation is a crucial counter-electrode reaction in the process of photoelectrochemical energy *** its importance,challenges remain in effectively and sustainably converting water to oxygen,particularly with readily available and inexpensive electrolyte solutions such as *** metal oxide materials have demonstrated their advantages in promoting efficiency by reducing overpotential and improving light utilization,stability remains limited by corrosion in multicomponent *** this paper,we reviewed the relationship between four basic concepts including photoelectrochemistry,metal oxide,water oxidation and seawater to better understand the challenges and opportunities in photoelectrochemical(PEC)seawater *** overcome these challenges,the advances in material design,interfacial modification,local environment control and reactor design have been further reviewed to benefit the industrial PEC seawater ***,we demonstrate engineered layered metal oxide electrodes and cell structures that enable powerful and stable seawater *** also outline and advise on the future direction in this area.
