To the Editor:The lung is the most frequent site of extrahepatic hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)recurrence after liver transplantation(LT).Pulmonary metastasis from hepatocellular carcinoma(PM-HCC)carries a poor prognosis as the patient could finally die of pulmonary failure secondary to the tumor despite maintaining ideal liver function.

A novel weighted cooperative routing algorithm （WCRA） is proposed in this article, which was on the basis of a weighted metric with maximal remaining energy （MRE） of the relays and the maximal received SNR （MRS） of the nodes. Moreover, a cooperative routing protocol was implemented on the basis of WCRA. Then simulation is done on network simulation （NS-2） platform to compare the performances of MRS, MRE and WCRA with that of noncooperative destination-sequenced destination-sequenced distance-vector （DSDV） protocol. The simulative results show that WCRA obtains a performance tradeoff between MRE and MRS in terms of delivery ratio and network lifetime, which can effectively improve the network lifetime at an acceptable loss of delivery ratio.

BACKGROUND Pulmonary alveolar microlithiasis(PAM)is a rare idiopathic lung disease characterized by the accumulation of innumerable ***,effective therapeutics for PAM are not available,and the only treatment for end-stage lung disease is lung transplantation(LuTx).Further,there are few reports that focus on LuTx for the treatment of PAM,and the follow-up reports of postoperative imaging are even *** SUMMARY A 52-year-old man presented to Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital in 2017 after experiencing shortness of breath and *** patient was diagnosed with PAM and referred for single-LuTx(SLuTx)on March 14,*** imaging results from a chest X-ray demonstrated bilateral,diffuse,symmetrical,sandstorm-like radiopaque micronodules,and pneumothorax and a computed tomography scan revealed minute,calcified military nodules in both *** performed a left SLuTx,and intraoperative pathology was consistent with *** week after surgery,a chest X-ray revealed slight exudation of the left lung,and one month later,the left transplanted lung exhibited good dilation,mild pulmonary perfusion injury with local infection,and left pleural *** bronchoscopy revealed left hyperplastic granulation at the left bronchial *** sputum cultures suggested the presence of Klebsiella pneumoniae and Acinetobacter *** last follow-up was conducted in April 2019;the patient recovered *** This case presents the imaging findings of a patient with PAM before and after LuTx and confirms the effectiveness of LuTx for the treatment of this disease.

The effects of a number of cytotoxic drugs are influenced by cellular reduction/oxidation (redox) state. In the present study, we attempt to explore if dicoumarol, an inhibitor of NADPH: quinone oxidoreductase (NQO1), alters the cellular redox state and how this alteration affects the redox-related apoptosis. Flow cytometry was used to assess the reactive oxygen species (ROS) level and apoptotic rates of HeLa cells treated with arsenic trioxide (As2O3) alone or in combination with natural anthraquinone emodin and dicoumarol or plus N-acetyl-cysteine. Western blot, immunofluorescence, electrophoretic mobility shift assay and luciferase assay were used to detect Nuclear Factor kappa B (NF-κB) activation. The results showed that dicoumarol synergized with emodin to sensitize HeLa cells to As2O3-induced apoptosis through raising the ROS level. More notably, this enhanced susceptibility was associated with a ROS-mediated inhi- bition of NF-κB activation in which the combinative treatment with dicoumarol prevented NF-κB from binding to target DNA. It was suggested that dicoumarol in combination with anthraquinones might be a novel strategy to expand the chemotherapeutic spectrum of As2O3 by means of interfering the cellular redox state.
