Trimethylamine oxide(TMAO) is a microbiota-derived metabolite, and numerous studies have shown that it could regulate fat metabolism in humans and mice. However, few studies have focused on the effects of TMAO on fat deposition in growing-finishing pigs. This study aimed to investigate the effect of TMAO on fat deposition and intestinal microbiota in growing-finishing pigs. Sixteen growing pigs were randomly divided into 2 groups and fed with a basal diet with 0 or 1 g/kg TMAO for 149 d. The intestinal microbial profiles, fat deposition indexes, and fatty acid profiles were measured. These results showed that TMAO supplementation had a tendency to decrease lean body mass(P duced alkaline phosphatase(ALP) concentration in serum(P duction, and regulated fat distribution and fatty acid composition in growing-finishing pigs. AIM:To characterize the distribution of meibomian gland(MG)area loss(MGL)and its relationship with demographic characteristics,mites,and ***:This retrospective observational study included patients who visited the Dry Eye Clinic of Shenzhen Eye Hospital between June 2020 and August *** patient characteristics,ocular symptoms,Demodex test results of the eyelid edges,and the results of a comprehensive ocular surface analysis were *** was analyzed using Image J ***:This study enrolled 1204 outpatients aged 20-80(40.70±13.44)y,including 357 males(29.65%)and 847 females(70.35%).The patients were classified into mild(n=155;12.87%),moderate(n=795;66.03%),severe(n=206;17.11%),and extremely severe(n=48;3.99%)MGL *** was significantly larger in female than in male(P=0.006).The degree of MGL also significantly differed in age(P<0.001)and the more numbers of mites with severity(P<0.001).Multivariate disordered multinomial logistic regression analysis identified that female sex,older age,secretory symptoms,and a large number of mites were risk factors for MGL(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Patients with MGL are more likely to be older,female,more numbers of mites,and increased secretion.

Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2)-positive breast cancer(BC)has been the most challenging subtype of BC,consisting of 20%of BC with an apparent correlation with poor *** that pyrotinib,a new HER2 inhibitor,has led to dramatic improvements in prognosis,the efficacy of pyrotinib monotherapy remains largely restricted due to its acquired ***,identifying a new potential antitumor drug in combination with pyrotinib to amplify therapeutic efficacy is a pressing ***,we reported a novel combination of pyrotinib with chrysin and explored its antitumor efficacy and the underlying mechanism in HER2-positive *** determined that pyrotinib combined with chrysin yielded a potent synergistic effect to induce more evident cell cycle arrest,inhibit the proliferation of BT-474 and SK-BR-3 BC cells,and repress in vivo tumor growth in xenograft mice *** may be attributed to enhanced autophagy induced by endoplasmic reticulum ***,the combined treatment of pyrotinib and chrysin induced ubiquitination and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase(G6PD)degradation by upregulating zinc finger and BTB/POZ domain-containing family protein 16(ZBTB16)in tumorigenesis of ***,we identified that miR-16-5p was a potential upstream regulator of ZBTB16,and it showed a significant inverse correlation with *** of miR-16-5p overexpression by restoring ZBTB16 significantly potentiated the overall antitumor efficacy of pyrotinib combined with chrysin against HER2-positive ***,these findings demonstrate that the combined treatment of pyrotinib and chrysin enhances autophagy in HER2-positive BC through an unrecognized miR-16-5p/ZBTB16/G6PD axis.

Tailoring the alloy composition,which induces the hard secondary phase to increase hardness and strength to improve the wear features,is a feasible approach for developing wear-resistant metal ***,a group of(AlCoCrFeNi)_(100–x)Sc_(x)(x=0–2.0,at%)high-entropy alloys(HEAs)are designed and the phase compositions and wear behaviors are ***-doped HEA series contain the primary body-centered cubic(BCC)and eutectic phases,in which the eutectic phase is composed of the alternately grown BCC and Laves *** addition promotes the diffusion of Ni atoms from BCC phase to form the Sc-rich Laves phase at the grain *** hardness increases due to solid solution strengthening and second phase *** the second phase strengthening plays a more significant role relative to solid solution *** phase and the oxides caused by wear heating prevent the direct contact between friction pair and HEAs,thus inducing a decreased wear rate from 6.82×10^(−5) to 3.47×10^(−5)m^(3)·N^(−1)·m^(−1).Moreover,the wear mechanism changes from adhesive wear,abrasive wear and oxidative wear to abrasive wear and oxidative wear.
