The interfacial electrification properties play an important role in the electrochemical corrosion reaction which leads the electrostatic charge to generate and accumulate on the metal surface when the insulating oil flows through a metal pipe. In this paper, the interfacial electrification properties resulted by the oil flow rate and the action of electric charge trapper are investigated by measuring the current and potential on the surface of the test metal pipe. The measured results showed that the current and potential between the metal pipe and the earth increased with the rise of flow rate; and as the flow rate increased, the growth trends of the current and potential difference between two close flow rates increased and decreased, respectively, while there was an electric charge trapper set in the radial direction of the pipe, the measured current and potential decreased compared with that of without electric charge trapper, which was because it captured and caught part of charge in the oil flow bulk to neutralize the opposite charge on the surface of the metal pipe.

The development of low-carbon refractories is of great significance,but it is limited by the deteriorated properties that resulted from the decreased graphite *** composite powders has proved to be effective in improving the properties of low-carbon *** recent progress in the synthesis of composite powders including modified graphite,nanocarbon-containing composite powders,oxide/non-oxide and non-oxide composite powders and their applications in low-carbon refractories were reviewed,and the future development of composite powder technology was prospected.

To improve the properties of low-carbonization of MgO–C refractories,the introduction of composite additives is an effective ***_(2)O_(3)–SiC composite powder was prepared from clay using electromagnetic induction heating and carbon embedded ***,the Al_(2)O_(3)–SiC composite powder synthesized by electromagnetic induction heating at 600 A was added into low-carbon MgO–C refractories(4 wt.%)to improve their *** results showed that when the addition amount of Al_(2)O_(3)–SiC composite powder is within the range of 2.5–5.0 wt.%,the properties of low-carbon MgO–C samples were significantly improved,e.g.,the apparent porosity of 7.58%–8.04%,the bulk density of 2.98–2.99 g cm-3,the cold compressive strength of 55.72–57.93 MPa,the residual strength after three air quenching at 1100°C of 74.86%–78.04%,and the decarburized layer depth after oxidized at 1400°C for 2 h of 14.03–14.87 ***,the idea for the rapid synthesis of Al_(2)O_(3)–SiC composite powder provides an alternative low-carbon MgO–C refractories performance optimization strategy.

In this work, low-density electric current pulse （ECP） has been applied to submerged entry nozzle （SEN） and its effect on the morphology of the inclusion buildup and the distribution of the inclusions in slab has been explored. The results reveal that under the unique effects of ECP, part of small inclusions less than 10 μm is expelled through the boundary layer along the current direction to form dense inclusion buildup. This method is of great potential to prolong the service life of SEN and improve the quality of the steel product.

To illuminate the corrosion behavior of MgO-based refractories under electromagnetic field(EMF),herein,the slag corrosion and penetration resistance of MgO–MgAl_(2)O_(4),MgO–CaO,and MgO–C refractories were investigated using the rotary immersion slag resistance test at 1873 K for 1 *** results showed that the order of the good slag resistance of as-tested refractories was MgO–C>MgO–CaO>MgO–MgAl_(2)O_(4).The EMF accelerated the corrosion and penetration of slag to the refractories,which caused the molten slag to be easier into the refractories by natural convection and Marangoni *** addition,the MgO–C refractories did not show an overwhelming advantage in slag resistance because EMF impeded the formation of the dense protection ***,in view of the present results,the MgO–C refractories are still the most promising slag line material for refining furnace among MgO–MgAl_(2)O_(4),MgO–CaO,and MgO–C refractories.

Global interest in lithium-sulfur batteries as one of the most promising energy storage technologies has been sparked by their low sulfur cathode cost,high gravimetric,volumetric energy densities,abundant resources,and environmental ***,their practical application is significantly impeded by several serious issues that arise at the cathode-electrolyte interface,such as interface structure degradation including the uneven deposition of Li_(2)S,unstable cathode-electrolyte interphase(CEI)layer and intermediate polysulfide shuttle ***,an optimized cathode-electrolyte interface along with optimized electrodes is required for overall ***,we comprehensively outline the challenges and corresponding strategies,including electrolyte optimization to create a dense CEI layer,regulating the Li_(2)S deposition pattern,and inhibiting the shuttle effect with regard to the solid-liquid-solid pathway,the transformation from solid-liquid-solid to solid-solid pathway,and solid-solid pathway at the cathode-electrolyte *** order to spur more perceptive research and hasten the widespread use of lithium-sulfur batteries,viewpoints on designing a stable interface with a deep comprehension are also put forth.

Theoretical analysis has demonstrated that the dispersion relation of chorus waves plays an essential role in the resonant interaction and energy transformation between the waves and magnetospheric *** quantitative analyses often simplified the chorus dispersion relation by using the cold plasma ***,the applicability of the cold plasma assumption is doubtful,especially during geomagnetic *** here present a systematic statistical analysis on the validity of the cold plasma dispersion relation of chorus waves based on observations from the Van Allen Probes over the period from 2012 to *** statistical results show that the observed magnetic field intensities deviate substantially from those calculated from the cold plasma dispersion relation and that they become more pronounced with an increase in geomagnetic activity or a decrease in background plasma *** region with large deviations is mainly concentrated in the nightside and expands in both the radial and azimuthal directions as the geomagnetic activity increases or the background plasma density *** addition,the bounce-averaged electron scattering rates are computed by using the observed and cold plasma dispersion relation of chorus *** with usage of the cold plasma dispersion relation,usage of the observed dispersion relation considerably lowers the minimum resonant energy of electrons and lowers the scattering rates of electrons above tens of kiloelectronvolts but enhances those ***,these differences are more pronounced with the enhancement of geomagnetic activity or the decrease in background plasma density.

The conversion process of chitin,one of the abundant biomass resources on the earth,not only follows the principles of green chemistry,but also has significant value in industrial ***,it is a great challenge to directly convert insoluble and rigid structured chitin to 5-hydroxymethylfurfural(HMF).To address this issue,we developed a green conversion process combining pretreatment and catalytic *** was first pretreated by hexafluoro isopropanol(HFIP),which somewhat disrupted the hydrogen bonding network within the chitin ***,formic acid(FA)and silicotungstic acid(STA)synergistically catalyzed the conversion to HMF in a biphasic system of 2-methyltetrahydrofuran(2-Me-THF)/H2O,and high yields(40.2%)HMF was obtained under the optimism *** product distribution was analyzed by HPLC-MS and the co-catalysis of FA with STA was evidenced.A dual-function catalytic system with both Lewis and Br?nsted acids was created,the catalytic system that significantly improved the efficiency of complex tandem catalytic reactions with *** on the experimental results,a possible pathway for chitin conversion was deduced,providing a new catalytic idea for the efficient conversion of chitin to HMF.

This study focuses on the electrical properties and microstructure of polypropylene(PP)-based blends used for cable insulation in nuclear power plants(NPPs).The PP-based blend,comprising isotactic PP and propylene-based elastomer(PBE)at concentrations ranging from 0 to 50 wt%,underwent a melt blending process and subsequent cobalt-60 gamma-ray irradiation with doses ranging from 0 to 250 *** conductivity,trap distribution,and alternating(AC)breakdown strength were chosen to assess the insulation *** results indicate that the addition of PBE significantly improves the electrical properties of PP under *** PP,the electrical conductivity increased with irradiation,whereas the trap depth and breakdown strength decreased ***,for the blend,these changes initially exhibit opposite *** the irradiation was increased to 250 kGy,the AC breakdown strength of the blend improved by more than 21%compared to that of *** physical and chemical structures of the samples were investigated to explore the improvement *** results offer insights into the design of new cable-insulation materials suitable for NPPs.
