Numerical models with hydrostatic pressure have been widely utilized in studying flows in rivers, estuaries and coastal areas. The hydrostatic assumption is valid for the large-scale surface flows where the vertical acceleration can be ignored, but for some particular cases the hydrodynamic pressure is important. In this paper, a vertical 2t） mathematical model with non-hydrostatic pressure was implemented in the σ coordinate. A fractional step method was used to enable the pressure to be decomposed into hydrostatic and hydrodynamic components and the predictor-corrector approach was applied to integration in time domain. Finally, several computational cases were studied to validate the importance of contributions of the hydrodynamic pressure.

The properties of nanocrystals are highly dependent on their morphology, composition and structure. To obtain full control over their properties, the behavior of nanocrystals under external stimuli, such as heat treatment, needs to be understood. Herein, to in situ observe their microstructure and morphology changes, Fe3O4–Ag heterodimers were selected as a model system. Their structural changes after heat treatment were investigated by in situ transmission electron microscopy. A combination of real-time imaging with elemental analysis enabled observation of the transformation of Fe3O4–Ag heterodimers having a loose interface configuration to those with a Janus structure at the atomic scale after heating from room temperature to 600 °C. After incubation at 600 °C for 32 min, two kinds of Janus structures could be seen, including a clear linear interface in the Fe3O4–Ag heterodimers and a semi-crescent-shaped interface between the Ag and Fe3O4 nanoparticles(NPs). These dynamic observations provide unique insights into NP growth mechanisms, which are essential for understanding and controlling the structure and morphology of nanoparticles.

The microstructure and magnetostrictive properties were investigated in the Tb doped Fe83Ga17-xTbx（x = 0.05, 0.10, 0.20, 0.30, 0.40, 0.50） bulk rods prepared by melt rapidly quenching. The partial solid solubility of Tb in the Fe-Ga matrix was preliminary detected by the lattice parameters and SEM observation. The matrix keeps A2 structure and the second phase appears surround the grain boundary as x C 0.1. h100 i preferred orientation is also observed for x = 0.1 sample along the axis of the quenched rod. The saturation magnetostriction first increases and maximum value reaches at x = 0.1, and then decreases with Tb addition increasing. The initial increase of the magnetostriction should be associated with the partial solution of Tb in the matrix, the maximum value at x = 0.1 should be attributed to the h100 i preferred orientation, and the decrease of the magnetostriction is correlated with the appearance of the second phase along the grain boundary.

AIM: To elucidate the role of fibulin-5(FBLN-5) as a suppressor of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) cell metastasis via ***: The expression of FBLN-5 was determined by immunohistochemistry in 140 HCC samples and matched normal tissues, and was further confirmed by RT-PCR and Western blot analyses in various cell lines. Recombinant FBLN-5 was expressed in Escherichia coli BL21(DE3), purified and used in cell attachment assays. Expression of a specific plasmid or a specific si RNA in HCC cells resulted in the overexpression or knockdown of FBLN-5, respectively. Further, the migration and invasion of HCC cells were investigated using the Boyden chamber and transwell assays. The concentration of secreted matrix metalloproteinase 7(MMP-7) was determined using ELISA. RESULTS: FBLN-5 expression was found to be downregulated in HCC. Its expression was significantly correlated with advanced tumor metastasis; this was indicative of poor 5-year overall survival. Recombinant full-length human FBLN-5 promoted the attachment of HCC cells via integrins: it inhibited HCC cell adhesionand migration to fibronectin in a concentrationdependent manner. It also inhibited HCC cell migration and invasion through an integrin-binding arginineglycine-aspartic acid(RGD) motif by downregulating MMP-7. CONCLUSION: These results suggest that lower FBLN-5 expression is an important indicator of poor survival and that FBLN-5 inhibits HCC motility via an integrin-dependent mechanism. RGD-dependent suppression of MMP-7 by FBLN-5 might contribute to the development of new therapeutic strategies for HCC.

AIM： To evaluate the role of intravitreal ranubizumab （IVR） in the treatment of familial exudative vitreoretinopathy （FEVR） of stage 2 or greater either as primary or an ajunct to conventional treatments. METHODS： Retrospective, non-controlled clinical study. Thirty patients （37 eyes） diagnosed with FEVR were enrolled. Twenty patients （66.67%） were male and 10 patients （33.33%） were female. Age ranged from 0.4 to 35 years old （median 3y）. IVR was used either as primary or as a combined therapy according to the retinal neovasuclar activities. The follow up ranged from 1 to 57mo with mean 16.73±15.73 （median 11）mo. The treatment effect of retinal neovasuclar activites were recorded as well as the ocular and systemic side effects. RESULTS： Among 30 patients （37 eyes）, 10 eyes received single IVR, 1 eye received 2 injections. Three eyes were treated with IVR and simutanous laser photocoagulation. Laser indirect ophthalmoscopy （LIO） was applied in 5 eyes 1mo after the primary IVR. Seven eyes were treated surgically following the primary IVR due to persistent retinal neovasuclar activities and retinal traction. IVR was used as combined treatment with vitrectomy in 11 eyes. Retinal neovascular regression was notified 1mo following the primary IVR in all eyes. Neither systemic nor ocular complications were recorded. CONCLUSION： IVR may be an effective modality in the treatment of FEVR either as primary or as an ajunct to the conventional therapies. The long term effect and safty of IVR still need further research.
