In order to prepare a novel hemostatic dressing for uncontrolled hemorrhage, a porous chitosan sponge was coated with self-assembled（thrombin/tannic acid）n films, which were based on hydrogen bonding interactions between thrombin and tannic acid at physiologic p H. According to the whole blood clotting test, the coated chitosan sponges showed a significantly high rate of blood clotting due to the addition of thrombin. On the other hand, the storable half-life of immobilized thrombin is extended to 66.9 days at room temperature, which is 8.5 times longer than unfixed thrombin. It is because of the immobilization effect of, not only the porous structure of chitosan sponge but also the interactions between thrombin and tannic acid. In addition, the tannic acid has similar antibacterial effect to chitosan. Therefore, it is an excellent combination of chitosan, thrombin and tannic acid. Besides, all of materials in this research have been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration（FDA）. So the chitosan-based sponge is a promising candidate dressing for uncontrolled hemorrhage due to its storable, bio-safe and highly effective hemostatic properties.

To assess the performances of state-of-the-art global climate models on simulating the Arctic clouds and surface radiation balance,the 2001–2014 Arctic Basin surface radiation budget,clouds,and the cloud radiative effects(CREs)in 22 coupled model intercomparison project 6(CMIP6)models are evaluated against satellite *** the results from CMIP6 multi-model mean,cloud fraction(CF)peaks in autumn and is lowest in winter and spring,consistent with that from three satellite observation products(Cloud Sat-CALIPSO,CERESMODIS,and APP-x).Simulated CF also shows consistent spatial patterns with those in ***,almost all models overestimate the CF amount throughout the year when compared to CERES-MODIS and *** average,clouds warm the surface of the Arctic Basin mainly via the longwave(LW)radiation cloud warming effect in *** surface energy loss of LW is less than that in CERES-EBAF observation,while the net surface shortwave(SW)flux is *** biases may result from the stronger cloud LW warming effect and SW cooling effect from the overestimated CF by the *** two biases compensate each other,yielding similar net surface radiation flux between model output(3.0 W/m2)and CERES-EBAF observation(6.1 W/m2).During 2001–2014,significant increasing trend of spring CF is found in the multi-model mean,consistent with previous studies based on surface and satellite *** most of the 22 CMIP6 models show common seasonal cycles of CF and liquid water path/ice water path(LWP/IWP),large inter-model spreads exist in the amounts of CF and LWP/IWP throughout the year,indicating the influences of different cloud parameterization schemes used in different *** Feedback Model Intercomparison Project(CFMIP)observation simulator package(COSP)is a great tool to accurately assess the performance of climate models on simulating *** intuitive and credible evaluation results can be obtained based on the COSP

BACKGROUND Vancomycin and teicoplanin are both antibiotics that have significant antimicrobial effects on Gram-positive *** To explore the value of teicoplanin combined with conventional(vancomycin only)anti-infective therapy for the treatment of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis pulmonary *** A total of 86 patients with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus or methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus epidermidis pulmonary infections,treated in our hospital between January 2018 and February 2020,were assigned to the study and control groups using a random number table method,with 43 patients in each *** control group received conventional treatment(vancomycin),and the study group received both teicoplanin and conventional *** following indicators were assessed in both groups:the time required for symptom relief,treatment effectiveness,serum levels of inflammatory factors(procalcitonin,interleukin-1β,tumor necrosis factor-α,C-reactive protein),clinical pulmonary infection scores before and after treatment,and the incidence of adverse *** Patients in the study group were observed to have faster cough and expectoration resolution,white blood cell count normalization,body temperature normalization,and rales disappearance than patients in the control group(all P<0.05);the total rate of effectiveness was 93.02%in the study group,higher than the 76.74%in the control group(P<0.05).The pre-treatment serum levels of procalcitonin,interleukin-1β,tumor necrosis factor-α,and C-reactive protein as well as the clinical pulmonary infection scores were similar among the patients in both ***,the post-treatment serum levels of procalcitonin,interleukin-1β,tumor necrosis factor-α,and C-reactive protein as well as the clinical pulmonary infection scores were significantly lower in the study group than in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence o

Northeastern China has experienced a significant increase in summer compound hot and dry events(CHDEs),posing a threat to local agricultural production and sustainable *** study investigates the detectable anthropogenic signal in the long-term trend of CHDE and quantifies the contribution of different external forcings.A probability-based index(PI)is constructed through the joint probability distribution to measure the severity of CHDE,with lower values representing more severe *** of CHDE to external forcing was assessed with simulations from the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project phase 6(CMIP6).The results show a significant increase in the severity of CHDE over northeastern China during the past *** trend of regional averaged PI is-0.28(90%confidence interval:-0.43 to-0.13)per 54 yr and it is well reproduced in the historical forcing *** attribution method of optimal fingerprinting was firstly applied to a two-signal configuration with anthropogenic forcing and natural forcing;the anthropogenic impact was robustly detected and it explains most of the observed trend of ***,three-signal analysis further demonstrated that the anthropogenic greenhouse gases dominantly contribute to the observed change,while the anthropogenic aerosol and natural forcing have almost no contribution to the observed *** a compound event concurrently exceeding the 95 th percentile of surface air temperature and precipitation reversal in the current period,its likelihood exhibits little change at 1.5℃global warming,but almost doubled at 2.0℃global warming.

Since the overloads of the electromagnetic flame-proof mechanism under different working conditions are complex and hard to be verified,a numerical simulation method of this mechanism working process is proposed with the combination of Adams and ***,a simulation model of electromagnetic flame-proof mechanism was established,which includes the safety pin,the spring,and the exciting coils and so ***,the model was imported to Adams taking constraints into consideration,which include the contacts,kinematic pairs and the *** co-simulation model was established through the union of Adams and *** model was tested via simulations,and the obtained results were analyzed *** results show that the method can simulate the dynamic process of the electromagnetic flame-proof mechanism during the service process and under the normal power supply condition,and therefore the motion displacements of the electromagnetic pin under different working conditions can be obtained through *** can verify the mechanism＇s designing rationality,thus laying the foundation for the physical prototype testing and reducing the repetition of the product＇s design process.

Effects of INA on postharvest blue and green molds and anthracnose decay in citrus fruit

As a synthetic functional analog of salicylic acid, 2,6-dichloroisonicotinic acid(INA) is effective in inducing the host disease resistance of a plant against a pathogen. The effects of INA on controlling postharvest blue and green molds and anthracnose decay and defense-related enzymes on citrus fruits were investigated, and the ascorbic acid of naturally infected citrus flavedo was also measured. Results showed that 1.0 mmol L^(–1) INA treatments significantly reduced blue and green molds and anthracnose decay development on both wound-inoculated fruit and naturally-infected fruit compared with the control fruit. The treatment effectively enhanced the β-1,3-glucanase(GLU), chitinase(CHI), phenylalanine ammonia-lyase(PAL) and peroxidase(POD) activities and the polyphenol oxidase(PPO) in flavedo. The results presented here suggest that INA might be used as a chemical fungicide substitution to control postharvest diseases in citrus fruits.

Gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST), esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and gastric cardia adenocarcinoma are distinct neoplasms originating from different cell layers; therefore, simultaneous development of such carcinomas is relatively rare. Auxiliary examinations revealed coexistence of esophageal and gastric cardia carcinoma with lymph node metastasis in a 77-year-old man. Intraoperatively, an extraluminal tumor (about 6.0 cm × 5.0 cm × 6.0 cm) at the posterior wall of the gastric body, a tumor (about 2.5 cm × 2.0 cm) in the lower esophagus, and an infiltrative and stenosing tumor (about 1.0 cm × 2.0 cm) in the gastric cardia were detected. Wedge resection for extraluminal gastric tumor, radical esophagectomy for lower esophageal tumor, and cardiac resection with gastroesophageal (supra-aortic arch anastomoses) were performed. Postoperative histological examination showed synchronous occurrence of gastric GIST, esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, and gastric cardia adenocarcinoma. Furthermore, immunohistochemistry indicated strong staining for c-Kit/CD117, Dog-1, Ki-67 and smooth muscle, while expression of S-100 and CD34 was negative.
