Defect modulation currently plays a decisive role in addressing the poor photoabsorption,sluggish electron hole separation,and high CO_(2)activation barrier in photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction.However,hunting for a straightforward strategy to balance the concentration of oxygen vacancy and metal cation defect in one photocatalyst is still a great challenge.Herein,a bismuth vacancies BiOBr nanosheets(BiOBr-1)on the exposed[001]facets were constructed via an acetic acid molecule modification strategy,which can repair oxygen defect by bismuth vacancy in low-temperature solid-state chemical method.Benefiting from the formed bismuth defects that can not only broaden light absorption and elevate charge separation efficiency,but also enhance adsorption and activation of CO_(2)molecules,the evolution rates of photocatalytic CO_(2)conversion into CO(71.23μmol·g^(-1)·h^(-1))and CH4(8.90μmol·g^(-1)·h^(-1))attained by BiOBr-1 are superior 7.1 and 11 times to that of plate-like BiOBr.The photocatalytic mechanisms including adsorption concentration and activation process of CO_(2)are further revealed by the in situ diffuse reflectance infrared flourier transform spectra(DRIFTS).This finding of the existence of distinct defects in ultrathin nanosheets undoubtedly leads to new possibilities for photocatalyst design using two-dimensional materials with high solar-driven photocatalytic activity.

As a natural disaster,extreme precipitation is among the most destructive and influential,but predicting its occurrence and evolution accurately is very challenging because of its rarity and uniqueness.Taking the example of the“21·7”extreme precipitation event(17–21 July 2021)in Henan Province,this study explores the potential of using physics-guided machine learning to improve the accuracy of forecasting the intensity and location of extreme precipitation.Three physics-guided ways of embedding physical features,fusing physical model forecasts and revised loss function are used,i.e.,(1)analyzing the anomalous circulation and thermodynamical factors,(2)analyzing the multi-model forecast bias and the associated underlying reasons for it,and(3)using professional forecasting knowledge to design the loss function,and the corresponding results are used as input for machine learning to improve the forecasting accuracy.The results indicate that by learning the relationship between anomalous physical features and heavy precipitation,the forecasting of precipitation intensity is improved significantly,but the location is rarely adjusted and more false alarms appear.Possible reasons for this are as follows.The anomalous features used here mainly contain information about large-scale systems and factors which are consistent with the model precipitation deviation;moreover,the samples of extreme precipitation are sparse and so the algorithm used here is simple.However,by combining“good and different”multi models with machine learning,the advantages of each model are extracted and then the location of the precipitation center in the forecast is improved significantly.Therefore,by combining the appropriate anomalous features with multi-model fusion,an integrated improvement of the forecast of the rainfall intensity and location is achieved.Overall,this study is a novel exploration to improve the refined forecasting of heavy precipitation with extreme intensity and high variability,and provides a reference for the deep fusion of

Embryonic stem cells(ESCs)represent a subtype of pluripotent stem cells(PSCs)derived from the inner cell mass of blastocysts.These cells exhibit three principal features:the capacity for unlimited self-replication,the ability to differentiate into diverse somatic cell types in vitro,and the potential to contribute to chimera animals in vivo upon reintroduction into the host blastocyst.Thus,ESCs are widely used in basic and biomedical research,as well as in applications such as cell replacement therapy and the creation of genetically modified animal models.

AIM:To evaluate the effect of lens surgery on health-related quality of life(HRQoL)of preschool children with congenital ectopia lentis(CEL).METHODS:A prospective self-controlled study was conducted in Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center.Children aged from 5 to 7y whom were diagnosed with CEL and underwent phacoemulsification with scleral-fixated posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation and their parents were enrolled in this study.All of them completed the child and proxy(parental)PedsQL™4.0 before and after the surgery.Their preoperative scores were compared to their postoperative ones.Subgroup analyses were performed based on gender and preoperative bilateral presenting visual acuity of the children.RESULTS:Thirty-two children with CEL successfully underwent surgery without any complications,among whom 8 had monocular surgery and 24 had binocular surgery.Preoperative and postoperative questionnaires were completed by 32 child-parent pairs.Surgical intervention could significantly improve the vision of affected children(P<0.001).The medians of physical,psychosocial and total health scores self-reported by the children were 68.75(62.50,81.25),65.00(60.00,80.00)and 67.39(60.87,78.26)preoperatively and were 93.75(87.50,100.00),90.00(83.33,96.67)and 89.13(85.32,95.65)postoperatively.The preoperative scores of the affected children were significantly lower in all scales than age-matched healthy children(P<0.001).All the postoperative scores were significantly higher than the preoperative scores in affected children and their parents(P<0.001).In the physical functioning evaluation,the preoperative score reported by parents of girls was higher than parents of boys(P=0.041),and the postoperative score of girls was higher than that of boys(P=0.036).CONCLUSION:CEL is associated with significantly worse quality of life in preschool children.Surgical intervention can significantly improve the HRQoL in affected children from both personal and family perspective.

Chemical short-range orders(CSROs),as the built-in sub-nanoscale entities in a high-/medium-entropy alloy(H/MEA),have aroused an ever-increasing interest.With multi-principal elements in an H/MEA to form a complex concentrated solution,a variety of sub-systems of species exist to induce the metastable ordered compounds as candidates for ultimate CSROs.The issues remain pending on the origin of CSROs as to how to judge if CSRO will form in an H/MEA and particularly,what kind of CSROs would be stably produced if there were multiple possibilities.Here,the first-principles method,along with the proposed local formation energy calculation in allusion to the atomic-scale chemical heterogeneities,is used to predict the CSRO formation based on the mechanical stability,thermodynamic formation energy,and electronic characteristics.The simulations are detailed in an equiatomic ternary VCoNi MEA with three kinds of potential compounds,i.e.,L1_(1),L1_(2),and B2,in the face-centered cubic matrix.It turns out that L1_(1)is stable but hard to grow up so as to become the final CSRO.L1_(1)is further predicted as CSROs in CrCoNi,but unable to form in FeCoNi and CrMnFeCoNi alloys.These predictions are consistent with the experimental observations.Our findings shed light on understanding the formation of CSROs.This method is applicable to other H/MEAs to design and tailor CSROs by tuning chemical species/contents and thermal processing for high performance.

The detection of biomarkers with both high sensitivity and specificity is crucial for the diagnosis and treatment of related diseases.However,many current detections employ ex-situ detection method and non-confined condition,thus have many problems,which may eventually lead to inaccurate detection results.Compared to detection in non-confined space,detection in confined space can better reflect the real in-vivo situation.Therefore,the construction of detection for target molecules in confined space has great significance for both theoretical research and practical application.To realize the detection of target molecules in confined space,the probes should accurately enter the confined space where the target molecules reside and interact with the interface.Thus,how to explore and utilize the properties of the interface(for example,bioinspired superwettability)has always been a hot and difficult topic in this field.Herein,the recent advances and our efforts in recent 10 years on detection of bio-target molecules in confined space with superwettable interface have been introduced from the perspective of the detection methods.The suitable and most widely employed detection methods for target molecules in confined spaces are introduced firstly.Then,recent progresses for related detections based on visual,optical,and electrochemical detection methods are presented successively.Finally,the perspective for detection in confined space is discussed for the future development of biochemical detection.

In this study,we reported the discovery and structure-activity relationship analysis of chrysin derivatives as a new class of inhibitors targeting poly(ADP-ribose)polymerase 1(PARP1).Among these derivatives,compound 5d emerged as the most effective chrysin-based inhibitor of PARP1,with an IC50 value of 108 nmol·L^(-1).This compound significantly inhibited the proliferation and migration of breast cancer cell lines HCC-1937 and MDA-MB-436 by inducing DNA damage.Furthermore,5d induced apoptosis and caused an extended G1/S-phase in these cell lines.Molecular docking studies revealed that 5d possesses a strong binding affinity toward PARP1.In vivo,in a xenograft model,5d effectively reduced tumor growth by downregulating PARP1 expression.Overall,compound 5d shows promise as a potential therapeutic agent for the treatment of BRCA wild-type breast cancer.

Ferroptosis is a newly discovered prototype of programmed cell death (PCD) driven by iron-dependent phospholipid peroxidation accumulation, and it has been linked to numerous organ injuries and degenerative pathologies. Although studies have shown that a variety of cell death processes contribute to JEV-induced neuroinflammation and neuronal injury, there is currently limited research on the specific involvement of ferroptosis. In this study, we explored the neuronal ferroptosis induced by JEV infection in vitro and in vivo. Our results indicated that JEV infection induces neuronal ferroptosis through inhibiting the function of the antioxidant system mediated by glutathione (GSH)/glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4), as well as by promoting lipid peroxidation mediated by yes-associated protein 1 (YAP1)/long-chain acyl-CoA synthetase 4 (ACSL4). Further analyses revealed that JEV E and prM proteins function as agonists, inducing ferroptosis. Moreover, we found that treatment with a ferroptosis inhibitor in JEV-infected mice reduces the viral titers and inflammation in the mouse brains, ultimately improving the survival rate of infected mice. In conclusion, our study unveils a critical role of ferroptosis in the pathogenesis of JEV, providing new ideas for the prevention and treatment of viral encephalitis.

BACKGROUND Schwannomas are uncommon tumors originating from Schwann cells,forming the neural sheath.They account for approximately 2%-6%of all mesenchymal tumors and are most commonly identified in peripheral nerve trunks,with rarity in the gastrointestinal tract.Among gastrointestinal locations,the stomach harbors the majority of nerve sheath tumors,while such occurrences in the sigmoid colon are exceptionally infrequent.CASE SUMMARY This study presented a clinical case involving a 60-year-old female patient who,during colonoscopy,was diagnosed with a submucosal lesion that was later identified as a nerve sheath tumor.The patient underwent surgical resection,and the diagnosis was confirmed through immunohistochemistry.This study highlighted an exceptionally uncommon occurrence of a nerve sheath tumor in the sigmoid colon,which was effectively managed within our department.Additionally,a comprehensive review of relevant studies was conducted.CONCLUSION The preoperative diagnosis of nerve sheath tumors poses challenges,as the definitive diagnosis still relies on pathology and immunohistochemistry.Although categorized as benign,these tumors have the potential to demonstrate malignant behavior.Consequently,the optimal treatment approach entails the complete surgical excision of the tumor,ensuring the absence of residual lesions at the margins.

Deep Analysis of Power Equipment Defects Based on Semantic Framework Text Mining Technology

Defect factors and their relevant rules can be analyzed in depth by processing defect records which are often expressed in the form of text data.However,considering that defect text consists of both structured and unstructured data,it is necessary to excavate structured information from unstructured data.In this paper,a text mining method based on semantic framework technology is introduced to transform unstructured defect description into structured information such as components and defect attributes.Then,a deep analyzing model of a power equipment defect is established,which provides a scheme of defect mining based on historical defect texts.Case studies prove that the proposed deep analysis method has a guiding significance for equipment upgrading,selection and maintenance.
