Expression Characteristics and Putative Functions of KIF3A/KIF3B During Spermiogenesis of Phascolosoma esculenta

The microtubule(MT)-associated proteins KIF3A and KIF3B are ubiquitously expressed in a wide range of *** study investigated the functions of these proteins in spermiogenesis,which involves various MT-dependent processes,in Phasco-losoma *** cloned the complete cDNA of Pe-KIF3A/*** predictions showed that Pe-KIF3A/3B are composed of a highly conserved motor domain,a coiled-coil domain,and a tail ***-time quantitative PCR showed that Pe-kif3a/3b are expressed in all tissues evaluated,with the highest levels in sperm *** in situ hybridization and immunofluo-rescence were employed to analyze the dynamic expression patterns of KIF3A/3B during ***-KIF3A/3B consistently co-localized with MTs at all stages of spermiogenesis,indicating their potential functions in cargo ***-KIF3A/3B co-localized with mitochondria,suggesting that they may mediate mitochondrial *** late-stage spermatids and mature sperm,co-localization was detected in the midpiece,suggesting that Pe-KIF3A/3B could facilitate midpiece *** co-localization of Pe-KIF3A and Pe-KIF3B at all stages of spermiogenesis suggests their function as the heterodimeric *** on the ob-served temporal and spatial expression patterns of Pe-KIF3A/3B,MTs,and mitochondria in our study,we suggest that heterodimer KIF3AB has a potential role in acrosome biogenesis,sperm head remodeling,enflagellation,and mitochondrial migration during spermiogenesis in *** addition,our study on the morphological characteristics of spermatogenic cells provided fundamental data on the reproductive biology of ***.

Controlling oxygen redox reactions in transition metal oxides offers an attractive route to tune their physical properties;a topotactic structural transformation from their parent phases effectively modifies the electronic state. In this work, infinitelayered SrFeO_(2) thin films were produced from brownmillerite SrFeO_(2.5) via low-temperature hydro-reduction. After the structural transition, their out-of-plane lattice constants dramatically shrank by 12%;tensilely strained samples exhibited metallic character, whereas the compressively strained ones maintained the insulating behavior of their bulk form. According to X-ray linear dichroism results, this strain-mediated electronic anisotropy may be attributed to electron redistribution within degenerated orbitals. This suggests a possible mechanism for the metallic conductivity of infinite-layered SrFeO_(2), giving a hint for understanding emergent quantum phenomena, such as the recently discovered superconductivity in nickelates, and stimulating various applications, including in ionic conductivity and oxygen catalysis.

Role of Contrast Enhanced Ultrasound in Radiofrequency Ablation of Metastatic Liver Carcinoma

Objective： To investigate the application of contrast enhanced ultrasound （CEUS） in planning and guiding for radiofrequency ablation （RFA） for metastatic liver carcinoma （MLC）. Methods： One hundred and thirty-five patients with clinically and pathologically diagnosed MLC （from gastrointestinal tumors） were included in the present study, and 104 of them had received CEUS prior to RFA to assess the number, size, shape, infiltration, location and enhancing features of the lesions. Among the 204 patients, 21 （20.1%） were excluded from RFA treatment due to too many lesions or large infiltrative range based on CEUS. The remaining 83 patients with 147 lesions underwent RFA （group A）. During the same period, other 32 patients with 202 lesions serving as control group were treated based on findings of conventional ultrasound without contrast （group B）. The patients underwent follow-up enhanced CT at the 1st month, and then every 3-6 months after RFA. The tumor was considered as early necrosis if no contrast enhancement was detected in the treated area on the CT scan at the 2st month. Results： In group A, 72 of 147 MLC lesions （48.9%） showed increased sizes on CEUS. Among them, 48 lesions （66.6%） appeared enlarged in arterial phase, and 24 （33.3%） showed enlarged hypoechoic area in parenchymal phase. CEUS showed total 61 additional lesions in 35 patients （42.2%）（ranged from 8 to 15 mm） compared with conventional ultrasound （US）, and 42 （68.8%） of them were visualized in parenchymal phase only. There were total 208 lesions in group A underwent RFA with CEUS planning, and the tumor necrosis rate was 94.2% （196/208）. In this group, local recurrence was found in 26 lesions （7.7%） during 3-42 months＇ following up, and new metastases were seen in 30 cases （36.2%）. For group B, the tumor necrosis rate was 86.3% （88/202）, local recurrence in 27 lesions （16.7%）, and new metastases in 13 cases （41.9%）. Quantum Algorithm for Boolean Equation Solving and Quantum Algebraic Attack on Cryptosystems

This paper presents a quantum algorithm to decide whether a Boolean equation system F has a solution and to compute one if F does have solutions with any given success *** runtime complexity of the algorithm is polynomial in the size of F and the condition number of certain Macaulay matrix associated with *** a consequence,the authors give a polynomial-time quantum algorithm for solving Boolean equation systems if their condition numbers are polynomial in the size of *** authors apply the proposed quantum algorithm to the cryptanalysis of several important cryptosystems:The stream cipher Trivum,the block cipher AES,the hash function SHA-3/Keccak,the multivariate public key cryptosystems,and show that they are secure under quantum algebraic attack only if the corresponding condition numbers are *** leads to a new criterion for designing such cryptosystems which are safe against the attack of quantum computers:The corresponding condition number.

A whole-net cooperative positioning method based on CDGNSS and inter-vehicle ranging

Relative positioning is recognized as an important issue for vehicles in urban ***-vehicle Cooperative Positioning(CP)techniques which fuse the Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS)and inter-vehicle ranging have attracted attention in improving the performance of baseline estimation between ***,current CP methods estimate the baselines separately and ignore the interactions among the positioning information of different *** interactions are called’information coupling’.In this work,we propose a new multivehicle precise CP framework using the coupled information in the network based on the Carrier Differential GNSS(CDGNSS)and inter-vehicle *** demonstrate the benefit of the coupled information by deriving the Cramer-Rao Lower Bound(CRLB)of the float estimation in *** fully use this coupled information,we propose a Whole-Net CP(WN-CP)method which consists of the Whole-Net Extended Kalman Filter(WN-EKF)as the float estimation filter,and the Partial Baseline Fixing(PBF)as the ambiguity resolution *** WN-EKF fuses the measurements of all baselines simultaneously to improve the performance of float estimation,and the PBF strategy fixes the ambiguities of the one baseline to be estimated,instead of full ambiguity resolution,to reduce the computation load of ambiguity *** tests involving four vehicles were conducted in urban *** results show that the proposed WN-CP method can achieve better performance and meanwhile maintain a low computation load compared to the existing methods.

To guarantee the exact proton dose applied to patients and ensure treatment safety while disrupting and destroying tumor cells,it is essential to accurately monitor the proton beam current in real time during patient *** clinical treatment requires a proton beam current in the∼nA range,nondestructive beam current monitors(BCMs)are preferred to minimize the degradation of beam ***,this poses significant challenges in accurately monitoring such extremely low beam *** study proposes a cavity-type BCM equipped with a dielectric plate to reduce its dimensions and achieve sufficient measurement sensitivity for practical requirements.A prototype cavity BCM was fabricated,and off-line testing was performed using a metal wire to simulate the beam to study its *** the simulation and experi-mental results showed that the cavity BCM could measure ultralow proton beam currents with a resolution up to 0.03 nA.

All-Solid-State Near-Infrared and Blue Femtosecond Laser System

We investigate an all-solid-state continuous wave (cw) green (532nm), femtosecond near-infrared (823.1nm) and blue (402nm) laser system which is pumped by a diode-laser-pumped intracavity frequency-doubled and all-self-structuring cw Nd:YVO4/KTP 532nm green laser. The cavity parameters of the Nd:YVO4/KTP laser have been optimized and the maximum 5.6W TEM00 green laser is obtained at a 22W pump power with an optical-optical conversion efficiency of 25.5%. A Ti:Sapphire laser and nonlinear second-harmonic generation by a crystal BBO is used to obtain different wavelengths. A femtosecond laser with an average output power of 300mW at 823.1nm and 73mW at 402nm is obtained when the green pump power is 2.5W. The spectral full width at half maximum are 32.3nm and 5.1nm, which can sustain the pulses of 22fs and 33.3fs, respectively.

Adsorption behavior and wettability alteration of bis-imidazolium salts on vermiculite:Experimental and theoretical studies

For further understanding the wettability alteration induced by organic salts,series of bis-imidazolium salts(EBMI,TBMI,HBMI,OBMI and DBMI) were employed for investigating their adsorption behavior and wettability alteration on vermiculite(Vt) by experimental and theoretical *** characterization results indicated that all bis-imidazolium salts had been loaded on *** adsorption results showed that EBMI,TBMI,HBMI,OBMI and DBMI on Vt reached equilibrium of 0.159,0.156,0.145,0.114 and 0.084 mmol g-1 around 30 min at 25℃,respectively,which were sensitive to ionic strength and ***,statistical physical modelling and pseudo-second-order models could be well fitted with the adsorption data,and thermodynamic parameters suggested that the adsorption processes of bis-imidazolium salts were endothermic and spontaneous,indicating that the resultant bis-imidazolium salts could be self-assembled onto Vt in the form of the *** of molecular dynamic simulation showed that bis-imidazolium salts were adsorbed on Vt with the lying-flat configuration,and the electrostatic interaction acted as the main interaction mechanism,which were consistent with that obtained *** of wettability of Vt induced by bis-imidazolium salts were verified by capillary rise ***,the wettability of organo-Vts varied with the spacer length and the order was as follows:EBMI-Vt
