In this study,a numerical analysis was conducted on the ductile fracture of a 2-mm diameter Mg-1Zn-0.5Mn-0.5sr-0.1Ca alloy wire during *** hexagonally close-packed crystal structure of Mg alloys causes asymmetric fracture behavior,especially in the compression *** aim of this study is to develop a comprehensive damage model for Mg alloy wire that accurately predicts ductile fracture,with a focus on the compression region.A novel experimental method was introduced to measure the ductile fracture of Mg alloy wires under different stress *** wire drawing process was simulated using the Generalized Incremental stress-state dependent damage(GIssMO)Model and the semi-Analytical Model for Polymers(sAMP)*** damage model's prediction and the experimental results were found to be in excellent agreement,especially in determining crack *** analysis established a safe zone diagram for die angle and reduction ratio,and experimental validation confirmed the feasibility of this *** proposed damage model can provide a practical and reliable analysis for optimizing the drawing process of Mg alloy wire.

Pathogens generate and secrete effector proteins to the host plant cells during pathogenesis to promote virulence and *** the plant carries resistance(R)proteins that recognize pathogen effectors,effector-triggered immunity(ETI)is activated,resulting in a robust immune response and hypersensitive response(HR).The bipartite effector AvrRps4 from Pseudomonas syringae *** has been well studied in terms of avirulence *** planta,AvrRps4 is processed into two *** Cterminal fragment of AvrRps4(AvrRps4^(C))induces HR in turnip and is recognized by the paired resistance proteins AtRRs1/AtRPs4 in ***,we show that AvrRps4^(C)targets a group of Arabidopsis WRKY,including WRKY46,WRKY53,WRKY54,and WRKY70,to induce its virulence ***,AvrRps4^(C)suppresses the general binding and transcriptional activities of immune-positive regulator WRKY54 and WRKY54-mediated ***4^(C)interferes with WRKY54's binding activity to target gene sARD1 in vitro,suggesting WRKY54 is sequestered from the sARD1 promoter by AvrRps4^(C).Through the interaction of Avr Rps4^(C)with four WRKYs,AvrRps4 enhances the formation of homo-/heterotypic complexes of four WRKYs and sequesters them in the cytoplasm,thus inhibiting their function in plant ***,our results provide a detailed virulence mechanism of AvrRps4 through its C-terminus.

MicroRNAs （miRNAs） are small non-coding RNAs that negatively regulate gene expression at the post-transcriptional level. They are involved in important biological processes including development, homeostasis, and ageing. Recently, extracellular miRNAs have been discovered in the bloodstream and bodily fluids. These miRNAs are shown to be secreted and circulating in microvesicles （MVs）, or in complex with other factors such as RNA-binding proteins and high-density lipoprotein （HDL） particles. These cell-free, circulating miRNAs can be taken into and function as negative regulators of target genes in recipient cells. Here we review the biogenesis and uptake of circulating miRNAs as well as their profiles in ageing and ageing-related diseases. We discuss the emerging role of circulating miRNAs as biomarkers and therapeutic targets.

Local populations in Cameroon thrive on forest resources and the flow of ecosystem services they provide are pivotal in sustaining national economy, improving people’s lives, safeguarding biodiversity, and mitigating the impacts of environmental changes. The exploitation of these resources invariably leads to deforestation and forest degradation. This study was designed to evaluate land use land cover change (LULCC) in the Eseka alluvial gold mining district with the aid of Landsat images. In the investigation of forest cover change, four Landsat satellite images for (1990, 2002, 2015 and 2022) were used. Ground-truthing also helped to identify the activities carried out by the local population and to determine agents, drivers and pressures of land use and land cover change. Four main land cover classes namely: forest, agricultural land, settlement/mining camps and water bodies were selected. Between 1990 and 2022, the proportion of forest decreased from 98% to 34% while those of agricultural land and settlement/mining camps increased from 2% to 60% and 0.54% to 6% respectively. Analysis showed ongoing deforestation with forest cover loss of ~98,263 ha in 32 years giving a cover change percentage of 63.94%. Kappa coefficient for the study period ranged from 0.92 to 0.99. Forest cover loss could be attributed to farming activities, wood extraction and alluvial gold mining activities. Economic motives notably the need to increase household income from a frequent demand for farm and wood products in neighbouring towns and the quest for gold were the main drivers of these activities. Hence, this study assesses the impact of human activities from the mining sector on the forest ecosystem in a bid to inform mitigation policies.

AIM： To study the prevalence and risk factors associated with triple infection with human immunodeficiency virus （HIV）/hepatitis B virus （HBV）/hepatitis C virus （HCV） in an urban clinic population. METHODs： Retrospective chart review of 5639 patients followed at st. Luke＇s-Roosevelt Hospital HIV Clinic （Center for Comprehensive Care） in New York City, UsA from January 1999 to May 2007. The following demographic characteristics were analyzed： age, sex, race and HIV risk factors. A multiple logistic regression analysis was performed to evaluate the influence of demographic factors on acquisition of these viruses. REsULTs： HIV/HBV, HIV/HCV and HIV/HBV/HCV infections were detected in 252/5639 （4.47%）, 1411/5639 （25.02%） and 89/5639 （1.58%） patients, respectively. HIV/HBV co-infections were associated with male gender （OR 1.711; P = 0.005）, black race （OR 2.091, P 〈 0.001）, men having sex with men （MsM）（OR 1.747, P = 0.001）, intravenous drug use （IDU）（OR 0.114, P 〈 0.001）, IDU and heterosexual activity （OR 0.247; P = 0.018）, or unknown （OR 1.984, P = 0.004）.HIV/HCV co-infections were associated with male gender （OR 1.241; P = 0.011）, black race （OR 0.788; P = 0.036）, MsM （OR 0.565; P 〈 0.001）, IDU （OR 8.956; P 〈 0.001）, IDU and heterosexual activity （OR 9.106; P 〈 0.001）, IDU and MsM （OR 9.179; P 〈 0.001）, or transfusion （OR 3.224; P 〈 0.001）. HIV/HBV/HCV coinfections were associated with male gender （OR 2.156; P = 0.015）, IDU （OR 6.345; P 〈 0.001）, IDU and heterosexual activity （OR 9.731; P 〈 0.001）, IDU and MsM （OR 9.228; P 〈 0.001）, or unknown （OR 4.219; P = 0.007）. CONCLUsION： Our study demonstrates that coinfection with HBV/HCV/HIV is significantly associated with IDU. These results highlight the need to intensify education and optimal models of integrated care, particularly for populations with IDU, to reduce the risk of viral transmission.

Planar structures (foliations and fractures) around the Tombel graben (southwestern end of the Central African shear zone system) have been investigated and analyzed with the aim of unraveling the tectonic evolution of the basement. The foliations show two major trends, an older N-s-trending gneissose layering of uncertain agereworked by a later Pan-African (600 + 50 Ma) NE-sW ductile trend that is contemporaneous with sinistral shearing and mylonitization. The brittle phase characterized by NW-sE-trending open and partially filled fractures is younger than the mylonitization event and although it has not been dated, it is suggested that the origin of these fractures is linked to the onset of volcanism along the Cameroon volcanic line-31 m.y. *** mylonitic foliation is recognized for the first time and supports a tectonic evolution model for the Tombel graben in which ductile non-coaxial deformation was succeeded by brittle failure.

Growing evidence suggests close associations between periodontitis and *** further understand the pathological relationships of these associations,we developed periodontitis with ligature placement around maxillary molars or ligature placement in conjunction with Porphyromonas gingivalis lipopolysaccharide injection at the ligature sites (ligature/***) in Apolipoprotein E knock out mice and studied the atherogenesis process in these *** mice were fed with high fat diet for 11 weeks and sacrificed for analyzing periodontitis,systemic inflammation,and *** did not develop periodontitis or systemic inflammation and had minimal lipid deposition in the aortas,but mice receiving ligature or ligature/*** showed severe periodontitis,systemic inflammation,and aortic plaque *** aortic plaque contained abundant macrophages and cells expressing both endothelial and mesenchymal cell *** severity of periodontitis was slightly higher in mice receiving ligature/*** than ligature alone,and the magnitude of systemic inflammation and aortic plaque formation were also notably greater in the mice with ligature/*** observations indicate that the development of atherosclerosis is due to systemic inflammation caused by severe *** vitro,*** enhanced the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines from macrophages and increased the adhesion of monocytes to endothelial cells by upregulating the expression of adhesion molecules from endothelial ***,secretory proteins,such as TNF-α,from macrophages induced endothelial–mesenchymal transitions of the endothelial *** together,systemic inflammation induced by severe periodontitis might exacerbate atherosclerosis via,in part,causing aberrant functions of vascular endothelial cells and the activation of macrophages in mice.

Objective:This study aimed to evaluate sleep behaviors among college students,to assess salivary alpha-amylase(sAA)and heart rate variability(HRV)in association with stress,and to investigate sleep-related factors including sAA,HRV,and stress among ***:saliva samples for sAA assessment and HRV measurements in the supine position were taken between 3 PM and 6 *** level of prolonged psychological stress for the previous week was evaluated using the Korean version of the Global Assessment of Recent stress(GARs-K),and sleep behaviors were assessed using an actigraphy ***:A total of 86 healthy college students participated in this *** behaviors of the college students were not good,with 84%sleep efficiency(sE)and 62.7 min wake after sleep onset(WAsO).The average sAA level was 65.8 U/mL in the *** neither the sAA level nor HRV indices were significantly correlated with prolonged psychological stress,decreased normalized high frequency(nHF)on HRV was independently associated with a higher level of stress when adjusted for age and *** stress(r=-0.276,P=0.011)and lower sAA(r=0.266,P=0.030)had significant correlations with shorter time in bed;however,it was sAA that was independently associated with time in bed(β=0.244,p=0.044).Decreased nHF(β=0.245,P=0.027)and higher body mass index(BMI)(β=-0.224,P=0.043)were independently related to and poorer ***:Poor sleep behaviors were associated with decreased parasympathetic activity,a physiological change to psychological stress,rather than with psychological stress itself among college ***,sAA and HRV should be considered as significant factors for impaired sleep behaviors in relation to psychological stress.
