Overexpression of miR-196b and hoXA10 characterize a poor-prognosis gastric cancer subtype

＜正＞Objective Arterial stiffness is an important, independent determinant of cardiovascular risk. Pulse wave velocity （PWV） has been used as a valuable index of arterial stiffness and as a surrogate marker for atherosclerosis. The Framingham risk score was developed using categorized risk factors to predict the 10 - year absolute risk of developing coronary heart disease （CHD）. This algorithm is established using recommended guidelines for blood pressure, total cholesterol, and high - density lipoprotein cholesterol in addition to age, smoking history and history of diabetes. Tongxinluo（TXL） has been shown to have anti - hyperlipidemic activity and anti - atherogenic effects. To determine its efficacy and safety, we examined whether TXL improves PWV, ABI, Framingham score, blood pressure, and lipid profile in high risk group of cardiovascular diseases. Methods 49 subjects with the high risk of cardiovascular diseases were recruited. Subjects were administered TXL with the dose of 1110mg three times a day for 8 weeks. baPWV, ABI, Framingham risk score, Blood pressure and serum lipid profile were assessed at baseline and after 4 and 8weeks. Results Total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglyceride, total lipid and phospolipid significantly decreased after 4 weeks of medication. Total cholesterol, total lipid and phospolipid significantly decreased after 8 weeks of medication. There were no significant changes in Framingham risk scores, ABI, PWV and blood pressure. On safety assessment, there were no adverse effects, hepatic or renal toxicity. Conclusion We suggest that TXL is a safe and useful herbal medicine for hyperlipidemia and as for anti - atherognic effects, further research would be necessary.

目的评价16S核糖体RNA(rRNA)基因测序在肝脓疡中细菌鉴定中的应用价值。方法2012年1月—2013年12月间共20例肝脓疡行经皮置管引流的患者,分别行脓液培养,血培养和16S rRNA基因测序。利用454 GS Junior System对脓液基因组DNA行PCR和16S rRNA基因测序。脓液培养,血液培养和16S rRNA基因测序结果进行分别评价。结果脓液和血液培养阳性的患者分别是9例(45%)和4例(20%)。16S rRNA基因测序细菌鉴定率为90%,明显高于传统的培养方法。结论 16S rRNA基因测序方法较传统的培养方法能更准确和有效对肝脓疡进行细菌鉴定。

本文提出了全面学习和相量粒子群相结合的方法用于解决限定固有频率约束下的空间结构优化问题.通过将相量理论和全面学习策略相结合以提高粒子群算法的效率.在优化的过程中,一个所谓的相角采用了周期正弦和余弦函数给定义速度的关键参数建模使得速度可以从所有粒子前一步的最佳位置中选取.这个方法不但实现了粒子们可以快速学习并且在少量的计算中进行了在作用力和固有频率约束下结构杆件的安全性评估和优化尺寸分布.提出的优化设计方法成功解决了一些工程应用结构的基准设计问题,这证明了本文方法相对于最新元启发方法的准确性和稳定性.

Background：Glehnia littoralis,as a traditional herbal medicine to heal various health ailments in East Asia,displays various therapeutic properties including antioxidant ***,neuroprotective effects of *** against cerebral ischemic insults have not yet been ***,in this study,we first examined its neuroprotective effects in the hippocampus using a gerbil model of transient global cerebral ischemia （TGCI）.Methods：Gerbils were subjected to TGCI for 5 *** extract （GLE;100 and 200 mg/kg） was administrated orally once daily for 7 days before ischemic *** was examined by neuronal nuclear antigen immunohistochemistry and Fluoro-Jade B histofluorescence *** was observed by immunohistochemistry for glial fibrillary acidic protein and ionized calcium-binding adapter molecule *** neuroprotective mechanisms,immunohistochemistry for superoxide dismutase （SOD） 1 and brain-derived neurotrophic factor （BDNF） was ***：Pretreatment with 200 mg/kg of GLE protected pyramidal neurons in the cornu ammonis 1 （CA1） area from ischemic insult area （F=29.770,P 〈 0.05） and significantly inhibited activationsof astrocytes （F =22.959,P 〈 0.05） and microglia （F =44.135,P 〈 0.05） in the ischemic CA1 *** addition,pretreatment with GLE significantly increased expressions of SOD1 （F =28.561,P 〈 0.05） and BDNF （F =55.298,P 〈 0.05） in CA1 pyramidal neurons of the sham-and ischemia-operated ***：Our findings indicate that pretreatment with GLE can protect neurons from ischemic insults,and we suggest that its neuroprotective mechanism may be closely associated with increases of SOD 1 and BDNF expressions as well as attenuation ofglial activation.

Background Hippophae rhamnoides L.（HL） exerts antioxidant activities against various oxidative stress *** this study,we investigated effects of extract from HL leaves （HLE） on cell proliferation and neuroblast differentiation in the subgranular zone （SGZ） of the dentate gyrus （DG） of aged *** Aged gerbils （24 months） were divided into vehicle （saline）-treated-and *** vehicle and HLE were orally administered with 200 mg/kg once a day for 20 days before *** proliferation and neurobiast differentiation were examined in the DG using Ki67 and doublecortin （DCX）,*** also observed changes in immunoreactivities of superoxide dismutase 1 （SOD1） and superoxide dismutase 2 （SOD2）,brain-derived neurotrophic factor （BDNF）,and phospho-glycogen synthase kinase-3-beta （p-GSK-3β） to examine their relation with neurogenesis using *** The administration of HLE significantly increased the number of Ki67-positive cells and DCX-positive neuroblasts with well-developed processes in the SGZ of the DG of the *** addition,immunoreactivities of SOD1,SOD2,BDNF,and p-GSK-3β were significantly increased in granule and polymorphic cells of the DG in the HLE-treated-group compared with those in the *** HLE treatment significantly increased cell proliferation and neuroblast differentiation,showing that immunoreactivities of SOD1,SOD2,BDNF,and p-GSK-3β were significantly increased in the *** indicate that increased neuroblast differentiation neurogenesis may be closely related to upregulation of SOD1,SOD2,BDNF,and p-GSK-3β in aged gerbils.

Association between hepatocellular carcinoma and tumor necrosis factor alpha polymorphisms in South Korea

AIM: To investigate associations between the tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α)-1031 T>C,-863 C>A,-857 C>T,-308 G>A,and-238 G>A polymorphisms and HCC in ***: Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) cases were diagnosed at CHA Bundang Medical Center from June 1996 to August 2008. The association between TNF-α polymorphisms and HCC was analyzed in 157HCC patients and 201 controls using a polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism assay. We investigated five TNF-α polymorphisms,which are TNF-α-1031 T>C,-863 C>A,-857 C>T,-308 G>A,and-238 G>A. The TNF-α genotype frequencies,genotype combinations and haplotypes were analyzed to disclose the association with ***: None of the TNF-α polymorphisms was significantly associated with HCC. however,nine genotype combinations had associations with increased likelihood of HCC. Among them,TNF-α-1031/-857/-238 TT/CC/GA(AOR = 18.849,95%CI: 2.203-161.246,P = 0.007),TNF-α-1031/-308/-238 TT/GG/GA(AOR = 26.956,95%CI: 3.071-236.584,P = 0.003),and TNF-α-1031/-238 TT/GA(AOR = 21.576,95%CI: 2.581-180.394,P = 0.005) showed marked association with HCC. There were five haplotypes of TNF-α polymorphisms which were significantly associated with HCC. They are TNF-α-1031/-863/-857/-308/-238 T-C-C-G-A(OR = 25.824,95%CI: 1.491-447.223,P = 0.0005),TNF-α-1031/-857/-308/-238 T-C-G-A(OR = 12.059,95%CI: 2.747-52.950,P hose with the TT genotype(AOR = 5.795,95%CI: 1.145-29.323). CONCLUSION: Although no single TNF-α polymorphism is associated with HCC in this study,some TNF-α genotype combinations and haplotypes are associated with HCC.
