A charged particle array named MATE-PA,which serves as an auxiliary detector system for a Multi-purpose Active-target Time projection chamber used in nuclear astrophysical and exotic beam Experiments(MATE),was *** array comprised of 20 single-sided strip-silicon detectors covering approximately 10%of the solid *** detectors facilitated the detection of reaction-induced charged particles that penetrate the active volume of the *** performance of MATE-PA has been experimentally studied using an alpha source and a 36-MeV 14 N beam injected into the MATE chamber on the radioactive ion beam line in Lanzhou(RIBLL).The chamber was filled with a gas mixture of 95%4 He and 5%CO_(2) at a pressure of 500 *** results indicated good separation of light-charged particles using the forward double-layer silicon detectors of *** energy resolution of the Si detectors was deduced to be approximately 1%(σ)for an energy loss of approximately 10 MeV caused by theα*** inclusion of MATE-PA improves particle identification and increases the dynamic range of the kinetic energy of charged particles,particularly that of theαparticles,up to approximately 15 MeV.

BACKGROUND Perianal fistulas pose dual challenges to Crohn's disease(CD)*** patient compliance due to the complexity of existing examination methods plagues the treatment and follow-up management of perianal *** To determine the accuracy of endoanal ultrasound(EUS)and shear wave elastography(SWE)for evaluating perianal fistulizing CD(PFCD)*** This was a retrospective cohort study.A total of 67 patients from August 2022 to December 2023 diagnosed with CD were divided into three groups:Non-anal fistula group(n=23),low-activity perianal fistulas[n=19,perianal disease activity index(PDAI)≤4],high-activity perianal fistulas(n=25,PDAI>4)based on the *** patients underwent assessments including EUS+SWE,pelvic magnetic resonance[pelvic magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)],C-reactive protein,fecal calprotectin,CD activity index,*** The percentage of fistulas indicated by pelvic MRI and EUS was consistent at 82%,and there was good consistency in the classification of perianal fistulas(Kappa=0.752,P<0.001).Significant differences were observed in the blood flow Limberg score(χ2=8.903,P<0.05)and shear wave velocity(t=2.467,P<0.05)between group 2 and *** wave velocity showed a strong negative correlation with magnetic resonance novel index for fistula imaging in CD(Magnifi-CD)score(r=-0.676,P<0.001),a weak negative correlation with the PDAI score(r=-0.386,P<0.05),and a weak correlation between the Limberg score and the PDAI score(r=0.368,P<0.05).CONCLUSION EUS combined with SWE offers a superior method for detecting and quantitating the activity of perianal fistulas in CD *** may be the ideal tool to assess PFCD activity objectively for management strategies.

A Luminescent Thermometer Based on Linearly Thermo-responsive Copolymer and Polyoxometalates

A novel switchable luminescent thermometer based on thermo-responsive triblock copolymer poly(ethylene glycol)-bpoly(acrylamide-co-acrylonitrile-co-dimethylaminoethylmethacrylate)(PEO113-b-P(AAm264-co-AN112-co-DMA8)) and Eu-containing polyoxometalate (Eu-POM) was successfully *** copolymer synthesized by RAFT exhibited a linear response to temperature variations in aqueous media,which was quite different from the uncharged copolymer P(AAm-co-AN) having a specific upper critical solution temperature (UCST).Eu-POM was surrounded around thermo-responsive blocks through electrostatic interactions,and its luminescence could be finely tuned due to the sensitivity of copolymer to the temperature *** cold water,POMs were trapped in highly hydrophobic cores,exhibiting an intense *** the upraising of temperature,the emission intensity presented a gradual decrease and showed a linear correlation with *** the complex solution cooled down,the luminescence could also be perfectly *** temperature-luminescence correlation could be held for numerous trials,showing a potential application in thermometer.

Evaluation of the correlation between ammonia nitrogen and p-toluidine using sequencing batch reactor treating synthetic p-toluidine wastewater

This paper presents lab-scale experiment carried out to evaluate the correlation between ammonia nitrogen （NH3-N） and p-toluidine using sequencing batch reactor treating synthetic p-toluidine wastewater. The profiles of NH3-N and p-toluidine were traced under the concentration of sucrose in the influent varied from 0 to 500 mg/L, aerated airflow varied from 0.6 to 1.2 L/min and temperature varied from 10 to 25℃, respectively. The results showed that the concentration of NH3-N turned from increase to decrease when p-toluidine was nearly completely biodegraded, so the profile of NH3-N could clearly indicate the endpoint of p-toluidine biodegradation. And the profile of NH3-N was not influenced by the sucrose in the influent, aerated airflow and temperature. It is showed that using ammonia nitrogen as monitoring and control parameter is feasible and reliable and has promising application in amine wastewater treatment by SBR.

spatial and environmental determinants of plant species diversity in a temperate desert

Aims Deserts are one of the ecosystems most sensitive to global climate ***,there are few studies examining how changing abiotic and biotic factors under climate change will affect plant species diversity in the temperate deserts of *** study aimed to:(i)characterize species distributions and diversity patterns in an Asian temperate desert;and(ii)to quantify the effects of spatial and environment variables on plant species *** We surveyed 61 sites to examine the relationship between plant species diversity and several spatial/environmental variables in the Gurbantunggut *** and environmental variables were used to predict plant species diversity in separate multiple regression and ordination *** in species responses to spatial and environmental conditions was partitioned by combining these variables in a redundancy analysis(RDA)and by creating multivariate regression trees(MRT).Important Findings We found 92 plant species across the 61 *** and geographic location were the dominant environmental factors underlying variation in site species richness.A RDA indicated that 93%of the variance in the species–environment relationships was explained by altitude,latitude,longitude,precipitation and slope *** and topographic heterogeneity,through their effects on water availability,were more important than soil chemistry in determining the distribution of *** analyses categorized communities into four groups based on latitude,soil pH and elevation,explaining 42.3%of the standardized species *** pH strongly influenced community composition within homogeneous geographic *** findings suggest that precipitation and topographic heterogeneity,rather than edaphic heterogeneity,are more closely correlated to the number of species and their distributions in the temperate desert.

Microwave-assisted regeneration of hypercrosslinked polymeric adsorbent saturated with nitrophenols

Thermal regeneration ofhypercrosslinked polymeric adsorbent （HPA） was performed at 67℃. Experiments were carried out using a multimode microwave oven operating at 2450 MHz and a thermostatic water bath so as to compare the effect of the different heating mechanisms on the regeneration efficiency of the HPA saturated with nitrophenols. The temperature rise action of the heterogeneous regeneration system under microwave irradiation was described. Additionally, a complete structure and chemical characterization of the regenerated HPA was also carried out in order to study the influence of the subsequent regeneration cycles on the structure and the adsorption capacities of the adsorbents. Structure characterization of the regenerated HPA was accomplished by means of the analysis of FTIR spectra.

Lambda polarization at the Electron-ion collider in China

Lambda polarization can be measured through its self-analyzing weak decay, making it an ideal candidate for studying spin effects in high-energy scattering. In lepton-nucleon deep inelastic scattering(DIS), Lambda polarization measurements can probe polarized parton distribution functions(PDFs) and polarized fragmentation functions(FFs). One of the most promising facilities for high-energy nuclear physics research is the proposed Electron-ion collider in China(EicC). As a next-generation facility, EicC is set to advance our understanding of nuclear physics to new heights. In this article, we study the Lambda production in electron-proton collisions at the EicC energy, in particular the reconstruction of Lambda based on the performance of the designed EicC detector. In addition, taking spontaneous transverse polarization as an example, we provide a theoretical prediction with a statistical projection based on one month of EicC data, offering valuable insights into future research prospects.

The effect of Bi addition(0.05 wt%-0.50 wt%)on the microstructure of zirconium alloys,including T5(Zr-0.7 S n-1.0 Nb-0.3 Fe-0.1 Cr),S5(Zr-0.8 Sn-0.35 Nb-0.4 Fe-0.1 Cr),Zr-4(Zr-1.5 Sn-0.2 Fe-0.1 Cr) and Zr-1 Nb,was investigated by transmission electron microscopy(TEM),energy-dispersive spectroscopy(EDS) and selected area electron diffraction(SAED).Results show that with the increase in Bi content,h-Zr(Fe,Cr,Nb)2,o-Zr(Fe,Sn,Bi)_(2) and Zr-Fe-Cr-Nb-Sn-Bi second-phase particles(SPPs) precipitate successively in the T5+xBi and S5+xBi alloys;in the Zr-4+xBi alloys,h-Zr(Fe,Cr)2,o-Zr(Fe,Sn,Bi)2,Zr-Fe-Cr-Sn-Bi and Zr-Fe-Cr-Bi SPPs are detected *** as for Zr-1 Nb+xBi alloys,Bi-free SPPs *** addition of Bi promotes the precipitation of SPPs with Sn in the *** concentration of Bi dissolved in α-Zr matrix increases with the decrease in Sn content in the *** reasonable Bi has little influence on the solid solution content of Nb in α-Zr matrix.

Magnetic separation of metal sulfides/oxides by Fe3O4 at room temperature and atmospheric pressure

The recovery of heterogeneous catalysts can save costs and avoid secondary pollution,but its separation efficiency and recovery cost are limited by conventional separation methods such as precipitation–flocculation,centrifugation and *** this paper,we found that surface-defective metal sulfides/oxides(WS2,CuS,ZnS,MoS2,CdS,TiO2,MoO2 and ZnO)commonly used in advanced oxidation processes(AOPs)could be magnetically recovered at room temperature and atmospheric pressure by mechanically mixing with *** potential,Raman,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)and electro-spin resonance(ESR)spectra were measured to explore the mechanism of the magnetic separation *** exposed active metal sites on the surface of defective metal sulfides/oxides are beneficial for the formation of chemical bonds,which are combined with electrostatic force to be responsible for the magnetic ***,other factors affecting the magnetic separation were also investigated,such as the addition of amount of Fe3O4,different solvents and particle ***,WS2 was chosen to be applied as a co-catalyst in Fenton reaction,which could be well separated by the magnetic Fe3O4 to achieve the recycle of catalyst in Fenton *** research provides a general strategy for the recycle of metal sulfides/oxides in the catalytic applications.
