Complete recovery from segmental zoster paresis confirmed by magnetic resonance imaging:A case report

BACKGROUND Segmental zoster paresis,depending on the affected area,can present with severe clinical manifestations and render patients unable to perform activities of daily ***,it is necessary to diagnose and treat such a condition *** studies have reported using magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)to identify clinical abnormalities associated with this condition or its complete *** rare case report evaluated the changes in MRI findings before and after the patient’s motor symptoms *** SUMMARY A 79-year-old woman with a history of rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis visited the hospital for skin rashes and pain in the C5-T2 *** diagnosis was herpes zoster infection,and treatment was ***,motor weakness suddenly occurred 14 d after the initial symptom *** confirmed abnormal findings in the nerves and muscles invaded by the shingles using electromyography and *** 17 mo,the patient’s symptoms had completely normalized,and MRI confirmed that there were no *** MRI can be a useful diagnostic modality for segmental zoster paresis and patient evaluation during recovery from motor complications.

The advent of single-cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq)has provided insight into the tumour immune microenvironment(TIME).This review focuses on the application of scRNA-seq in investigation of the *** time,scRNA-seq methods have evolved,and components of the TIME have been deciphered with high *** this review,we first introduced the principle of scRNA-seq and compared different sequencing *** cell types in the TIME,a continuous transitional state,and mutual intercommunication among TIME components present potential targets for prognosis prediction and treatment in ***,we concluded novel cell clusters of cancerassociated fibroblasts(CAFs),T cells,tumour-associated macrophages(TAMs)and dendritic cells(DCs)discovered after the application of scRNA-seq in *** also proposed the development of TAMs and exhausted T cells,as well as the possible targets to interrupt the *** addition,the therapeutic interventions based on cellular interactions in TIME were also *** decades,quantification of the TIME components has been adopted in clinical practice to predict patient survival and response to therapy and is expected to play an important role in the precise treatment of *** the current findings,we believe that advances in technology and wide application of single-cell analysis can lead to the discovery of novel perspectives on cancer therapy,which can subsequently be implemented in the ***,we propose some future directions in the field of TIME studies that can be aided by scRNA-seq technology.

An Efficient and Spam-Robust Proximity Measure Between Communication Entities

Electronic communication service providers are obliged to retain communication data for a certain amount of time by their local laws. The retained communication data or the communication logs are used in various applications such as crime detection, viral marketing, analytical study, and so on. Many of these applications rely on effective techniques for analyzing communication logs. In this paper, we focus on measuring the proximity between two communication entities, which is a fundamental and important step toward further analysis of communication logs, and propose a new proximity measure called ESP （Efficient and Spam-Robust Proximity measure）. Our proposed measure considers only the （graph- theoretically） shortest paths between two entities and gives small values to those between spam-like entities and others. Thus, it is not only computationally efficient but also spam-robust. By conducting several experiments on real and synthetic datasets, we show that our proposed proximity measure is more accurate, computationally efficient and spam-robust than the existing measures in most cases.

A case with acute-on-chronic liver failure receiving liver transplantation during daclatasvir and asunaprevir therapy in chronic hepatitis C patient

We report a case with hepatitis C virus genotype 1 b liver cirrhosis who received liver transplantation because of acute-onchronic liver failure during daclatasvir(DSV)and asunaprevir(ASV)combination *** our knowledge,this is the first case received liver transplantation during DSVtASV ***,clinicians should pay particular attention to the possibility of acute liver failure during DSV and ASV combination therapy.
