Reperfusion following cerebral ischemia causes both structural and functional damage to brain tissue and could aggravate a patient's condition;this phenomenon is known as cerebral ischemia-reperfusion *** studies have elucidated the neuroprotective role of the sirtuin protein family(Sirtuins)in modulating cerebral ischemia-reperfusion ***,the potential of utilizing it as a novel intervention target to influence the prognosis of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury requires additional *** this review,the origin and research progress of Sirtuins are summarized,suggesting the involvement of Sirtuins in diverse mechanisms that affect cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury,including inflammation,oxidative stress,blood-brain barrier damage,apoptosis,pyroptosis,and *** therapeutic avenues related to Sirtuins that may improve the prognosis of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury were also investigated by modulating Sirtuins expression and affecting representative pathways,such as nuclear factor-kappa B signaling,oxidative stress mediated by adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase,and the forkhead box *** review also summarizes the potential of endogenous substances,such as RNA and hormones,drugs,dietary supplements,and emerging therapies that regulate Sirtuins *** review also reveals that regulating Sirtuins mitigates cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury when combined with other risk *** Sirtuins show promise as a potential target for the treatment of cerebral ischemiareperfusion injury,most recent studies are based on rodent models with circadian rhythms that are distinct from those of humans,potentially influencing the efficacy of Sirtuinstargeting drug ***,this review provides new insights into the role of Sirtuins in the pathology and treatment of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury.

Investigation on optical sinc-shaped Nyquist pulse generation based on external modulation

In this paper， a scheme for generating sinc-shaped optical Nyquist pulses based on external modulation is proposed. First， five flat optical frequency comb (OFC) lines are generated by a dual-parallel Mach-Zehnder modulator (DP-MZM) for optical carrier phase cancellation interference. Then， the phase-locked OFC is split into two paths， one of which is transmitted to a single-drive Mach-Zehnder modulator (SD-MZM) for the modulation of the even-order side-band suppression， and the other is used to remodulate the signal in order to obtain equally spaced comb lines. Eventually， equal frequency spaced phase-locked 15-line OFCs are generated and extremely narrow over-zero width Nyquist pulses are realized at 2.5GHz， 5GHz， 10GHz and 20GHz. The root-mean-square error (RMSE) is calculated for the generated Nyquist pulses which enables the verification of the signal quality.

Chloride resistance of Cr-bearing alloy steels in carbonated concrete pore solutions

The effect of carbonation on the chloride resistance of low-carbon steel and two Cr-bearing alloy steels in simulated concrete pore solutions was *** chloride threshold values of steels were determined on the basis of corrosion potential(Ecorr)and polarization resistance(Rp).Moreover,the chloride-induced corrosion behavior of steels was evaluated using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy,cyclic voltammetry,cathodic potentiodynamic polarization,and scanning electron microscopy/energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy *** steels have higher chloride resistance than low-carbon steel in carbonated and non-carbonated concrete pore *** chloride resistance of alloy steels improves with increasing Cr *** addition,the chloride resistance of all steels is negatively affected by the carbonation of concrete pore solution,especially for alloy steel with high Cr content in the presence of high chloride content.

In clinical practice,the important hygienic prevention of bacterial pathogen spread is disinfection of potentially contaminated *** bromide and chlorhexidine acetate are commonly used disinfectants with a broad spectrum of antimicrobial *** is vital to inhibit the spread of pathogen in ***,a large number of pathogens with the decreased antiseptic susceptibility have been isolated from clinical samples which showed an increased minimal inhibitory concentration(MIC)against those *** resistant pathogens are the major causes for nosocomial crossinfections in *** present study demonstrated the utility of Oxford plate assay system in determining the potential disinfectant resistance of *** microbiological assay is based on the inhibitory effect of tested disinfectants upon the strains of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia *** analysis of the bioassay results indicated the linear correlation(r=-0.87-0.99,P<0.01)between the diameter of growth inhibition zone and the log dosage of the tested ***,comparison of inhibitory efficacy of benzalkonium bromide upon 29 *** strains isolated from clinical samples by both Oxford plate method and broth dilution method showed that the diameter of growth inhibition zone has significantly negative correlation with the minimal inhibitory concentration(MIC)(r=-0.574,P<0.001).These results suggest that the Oxford plate is a simple and time-saving method in detecting potential clinical disinfectant resistance and its usefulness for routine surveillance of pathogenic resistance to disinfectants warrants further investigation.

Primary non-Hodgkin's lymphoma of the liver: sonographic and CT findings

BACKGROUND： A preoperative diagnosis of primary hepatic lymphoma（PHL） can have profound therapeutic and prognostic implications. Because of the rarity of PHL, however, there are few reports on diagnostic imaging. We reviewed the clinical and radiologic findings of 29 patients with PHL, the largest series to date, to evaluate the diagnostic features of this ***： Clinical data and radiologic findings at presentation were retrospectively reviewed for 29 patients with pathologically confirmed PHL from January 2005 to June 2013. Imaging studies, including ultrasound（US）（n=29） and contrast-enhanced computed tomography（CECT）（n=24）, were performed within 2 weeks before biopsy or ***： Among the 29 patients, 23（79%） were positive for hepatitis B virus（HBV） and 26（90%） had a significantly elevated level of serum lactate dehydrogenase（LDH）. There were two distinct types of PHL on imaging： diffuse（n=5） and nodular（n=24）. Homogeneous or heterogeneous hepatomegaly was the only sign for diffuse PHL on both US and CECT, without any definite hepatic mass. For the nodular type, 63%（15/24） of patients had solitary lesions and 38%（9/24） had multiple lesions. On US, seven patients displayed patchy distribution with an indistinct tumor margin and a rich color flow signal. CECT showed rim-like enhancement（n=3） and slightly homogeneous or heterogeneous enhancement（n=14） in the arterial phase and isoenhancement（n=5） and hypoenhancement（n=12） in the portal venous and late phases. Furthermore, in five patients, CT revealed that hepatic vessels passed through the lesions and were not displaced from the abnormal area or appreciably ***： The infiltration type of PHL was associated with the histologic subtype. Considered together with HBV positivity and elevated LDH, homogeneous or heterogeneous hepatomegaly may indicate diffuse PHL, whereas patchy distribution with a rich color flow signal on US or normal vessels extending through the lesion on CECT may

Microstructure and mechanical properties improvements in cemented carbides by(Cr,Mo,Ta)_(2)(C,N) inhibitors

Grain growth inhibitors can effectively suppress the grain size of tungsten carbide(WC),and consequently improve the hardness and strength of the cemented carbides;however,the toughness,one of the most important properties,usually deteriorates with ***,(Cr,Mo,Ta)_(2)(C,N) synthesized by carbothermal reductionnitridation was used as a novel inhibitor,and its effects on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the cemented carbides were *** results showed that the cemented carbides containing(Cr,Mo,Ta)_(2)(C,N)outperformed its counterpart comprising the traditional inhibitors in comprehensive mechanical properties,which was mainly attributed to the better inhibition performance provided by the(Cr,Mo,Ta)_(2)(C,N) solid-solution *** the content of(Cr,Mo,Ta)_(2)(C,N) increasing from 0 wt% to 1.25 wt%,the average grain size of WC in the cemented carbides decreased from 0.85 to 0.60 μm firstly,and then increased to 0.64 μ*** 1.00 wt%(Cr,Mo,-Ta)_(2)(C,N) addition,the cemented carbides with the best performance of hardness(HV_(30)) of 15.55 GPa,transverse rupture strength of 4272 MPa,fracture toughness of13.91 MPa·m1/2 were *** electron backscattered diffraction(EBSD) measurements showed that cemented carbides with(Cr,Mo,Ta)_(2)(C,N) processed more amount of∑2 boundary compared with the other specimens,which contributed to better fracture resistance.

Phosphorus-doping activates carbon nanotubes for efficient electroreduction of nitrogen to ammonia

The electrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction(NRR)as an energy-efficient approach for ammonia synthesis is hampered by the low ammonia yield and ambiguous reaction ***,phosphorus-doped carbon nanotube(P-CNTs)is developed as an efficient metal-free electrocatalyst for NRR with a remarkable NH3 yield of 24.4μg·h^−1·mg^−*** partial current density of 0.61 mA·cm^−*** superior activity is found to be from P doping and highly conjugated CNTs *** and theoretical investigations discover that the electron-deficient phosphorus sites with Lewis acidity should be genuine active sites and NRR on P-CNTs follows the distal *** findings provide insightful understanding on NRR processes on P-CNTs,opening up opportunities for the rational design of highly-active cost-effective metal-free catalysts for electrochemical ammonia synthesis.

Multicomponent polymerizations(MCPs)are powerful tools to synthesize functional polymers with great structural diversity,low cost and high efficiency,which usually generate single polymer ***,a robust one-pot diamines,CS_(2)and monoisocyanide-participated catalyst-free polymerization was developed at room temperature to produce polythiourea and thioformamide simultaneously in equal equivalent,which was featured with cheap monomers,simple operation and mild condition,affording various polythioureas with high Mws of up to 4.75×10^(4)g/mol in high yields of up to 98%.Polythioureas with varied chain composition and sequence-controlled structure could be synthesized in 62 g-scale from copolymerization or multicomponent tandem polymerization,enabling facile tuning of thermal property,crystallinity,mechanical property,and *** abundant irregular hydrogen bonds endowed the polythioureas excellent glassy state self-healing property at room temperature or below 0℃.This polymerization provided an efficient and economic approach to access functional polythioureas.

Synthesis and Characterization of the Polyacrylonitrile-block- poly(methyl acrylate) by RAFT Technique

Polyacrylonitrile-block-poly（methyl acrylate）（P（AN-b-MA）） was synthesized by reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer （RAFT） polymerization employing macro-RAFT agent （PAN-RAFT） as the chain transfer agent and azobis（isobutyronitrile）（AIBN） as the initiator. A linear relationship between ln（[M]0/[M]1） and reaction time was observed. The molecular structure of P（AN-b-MA） was characterized by ^1H-NMR, element analysis, FTIR and SEC. The molecular weight distribution （MWD） was less than 1.40, the Mn could be controled from 0.733 to 4.834×10^4, and the molar content of MA in P（AN-b-MA） were from 15.6 to 75.0 percentage, respectively.

Assessing the corrosion protection property of coatings loaded with corrosion inhibitors using the real-time atmospheric corrosion monitoring technique

The atmospheric corrosion monitoring(ACM)technique has been widely employed to track the real-time corrosion behavior of metal ***,limited studies have applied ACM to the corrosion protection properties of organic *** study compared a bare epoxy coating with one containing zinc phosphate corrosion inhibitors,both applied on ACM sensors,to observe their corrosion protection properties over *** with artificial damage via scratches were exposed to immersion and alternating dry and wet environments,which allowed for monitoring galvanic corrosion currents in *** the corrosion tests,the ACM currents of the zinc phosphate/epoxy coating were considerably lower than those of the blank epoxy *** trend in ACM current variations closely matched the results obtained from regular electrochemical tests and surface *** alignment highlights the potential of the ACM technique in evaluating the corrosion protection capabilities of organic *** with the blank epoxy coating,the zinc phosphate/epoxy coating showed much-decreased ACM current values that confirmed the effective inhibition of zinc phosphate against steel corrosion beneath the damaged coating.
