We present a novel time-of-flight resolved Bessel light bullet-enabled stimulated Raman scattering(B2-SRS)microscopy for deeper tissue 3D chemical imaging with high resolution without a need for mechanical *** accomplish the tasks,we conceive a unique method to enable optical sectioning by generating the counterpropagating pump and Stokes Bessel light bullets in the sample,in which the group velocities of the Bessel light bullets are made ultraslow(e.g.,vg≈0.1c)and tunable by introducing programmable angular dispersions with a spatial light *** theoretically analyze the working principle of the collinear multicolor Bessel light bullet generations and velocity controls with the relative time-of-flight resolved detection for SRS 3D deep tissue *** have also built the B2-SRS imaging system and present the first demonstration of B2-SRS microscopy with Bessel light bullets for 3D chemical imaging in a variety of samples(e.g.,polymer bead phantoms,biological samples such as spring onion tissue and porcine brain)with high *** B2-SRS technique provides a>2-fold improvement in imaging depth in porcine brain tissue compared to conventional SRS *** method of optical sectioning in tissue using counter-propagating ultraslow Bessel light bullets developed in B2-SRS is generic and easy to perform and can be readily extended to other nonlinear optical imaging modalities to advance 3D microscopic imaging in biological and biomedical systems and beyond.

3D imaging technology is pivotal in monitoring the functional dynamics and morphological alterations in living cells and ***,conventional volumetric imaging associated with mechanical z-scanning encounters challenges in limited 3D imaging speed with inertial ***,we present a unique phase-modulated multifoci microscopy (PM^(3)) technique to achieve snapshot 3D imaging with the advantages of extended imaging depths and adjustable imaging intervals between each focus in a rapid *** accomplish the tasks,we utilize a spatial light modulator (SLM) to encode the phases of the scattered or fluorescence light emanating from a volumetric sample and then project the multiple-depth images of the sample onto a single charge-coupled device camera for rapid 3D *** demonstrate that the PM^(3)technique provides~55-fold improvement in imaging depth in polystyrene beads phantom compared to the depth of field of the objective lens ***^(3)also enables the real-time monitoring of Brownian motion of fluorescent beads in water at a 15 Hz volume *** precisely manipulating the phase of scattered light on the SLM,PM^(3)can pinpoint the specific depth information in living zebrafish and rapidly observe the 3D dynamic processes of blood flow in the zebrafish *** work shows that the PM^(3)technique developed is robust and versatile for fast 3D dynamic imaging in biological and biomedical systems.

The development of environmentally friendly catalysts has become a top priority for acetylene ***,difficulties remain in systematic studies on the applicability of kinetic models for the industrialization of Cu-based ***,a strategy involving reactor modeling,parameter estimation,and model testing is developed to evaluate the predictive ability of kinetic *** order to search for reliable and widely applicable reaction kinetic models for Cu-based catalysts,a case study is *** possible kinetic models derived from the power law,adsorption mechanism,and reaction path are sifted through collecting and testing activity data from tens of Cu-based *** optimum applicable ranges of these kinetic models are *** to the comparative analysis on their applications in various industrial scenarios,this research suggests that kinetic models derived from reaction path exhibits the best extrapolation ability and has the greatest potential for application in the scale-up design of reactors.

Texture is inevitably introduced during the manufacturing of most NiTi shape memory alloys(SMAs),and the textured nanocrystalline NiTi has been extensively employed in ***,the effect of texture,and the joint effect of grain size(GS)and texture on the functional properties of NiTi SMAs and the corresponding microscopic mechanisms have not been clearly understood *** this work,based on the phase field method,the effect of texture on the GS-dependent functional properties of NiTi SMAs,including super-elasticity(SE),one-way shape memory effect(OWSME),and stress-assisted two-way shape memory effect(SATWSME),is investigated,and the corresponding microscopic mechanisms are ***,the samples with discrete geometrical gradients and/or texture gradients are designed to achieve graded functional *** simulation results indicate that the dependence of functional properties on texture is due to the effect of crystallographic orientation on martensite transformation and reorientation,which can lead to different inelastic *** the designed samples with texture gradients,the stress–strain responses of sheets with various textures are different,allowing for the coordination of overall deformation of the sample by combining such sheets,with varying inelastic deformation ***,the overall response of the sample differs from that without texture gradient,leading to the achievement of graded functional *** simulation results and new findings in this work contribute to a deeper understanding of the effects of texture,GS,and their interaction on the functional properties of SMAs,and provide valuable reference for the design and development of SMA-based devices with desired functional properties.

Herein,we demonstrate the synthesis of bifunctional nickel cobalt selenide@nickel telluride(Ni_(x)Co_(12-x)Se@NiTe)core-shell heterostructures via an electrodeposition approach for overall urea electrolysis and *** 3D vertically orientated NiTe dendritic frameworks induce the homogeneous nucleation of 2D Ni_(x)Co_(12-x)Se nanosheet arrays along similar crystal directions and bring a strong interfacial binding between the integrated active *** particular,the optimized Ni_(6)Co_(6)Se@NiTe with an interface coupling effect works in concert to tune the intrinsic *** only needs a low overpotential of 1.33 V to yield a current density of 10 mA cm^(-2)for alkaline urea ***,the full urea catalysis driven only by Ni_(6)Co_(6)Se@NiTe achieves 10 mA cm^(-2)at a potential of 1.38 V and can approach a constant level of the current response for 40 ***,the integrated Ni_(6)Co_(6)Se@NiTe electrode delivers an enhanced specific capacity(223 mA h g^(-1)at 1 A g^(-1))with a high cycling ***,a hybrid asymmetric supercapacitor(HASC)device based on Ni_(6)Co_(6)Se@NiTe exhibits a favorable rate capability and reaches a high energy density of 67.7 Wh kg^(-1)and a power density of 724.8 W kg^(-1)with an exceptional capacity retention of 92.4%after sequential 12000 cycles at 5 A g^(-1).

Micromechanics investigations of composites with fiber-shaped reinforcement are extensively applied in the engineering design and theoretical analysis of thermal composites in the aerospace engineering and high-tech *** this paper,a critical review of various classical micromechanics approaches is provided based on the classification framework and the development of micromechanics *** numerical micromechanics tools have been developed to overcome limitations through exactly/approximately solving the internal governing equations of *** connections and limitations of those models are also investigated and discussed,based on which three recently developed numerical or semi-analytical models are explained,including finite-element micromechanics,finite-volume direct averaging micromechanics,and locally exact homogenization theory,as well as machine learning *** it is almost inevitable to mention the interfacial effects on thermal behavior of fibrous composites,we review the new mathematical relations that interrupt the original continuity conditions due to the existence of interphase/interface within unit *** speaking,the interphase/interface is demonstrated to play a significant role in influencing the effective coefficients and localized thermal *** present work also briefly reviews the application of micromechanics tools in emerging engineered woven composites,natural fibrous composites,and ablative thermal protection *** is demonstrated that sophisticated micromechanics tools are always demanded for investigating the effective and localized responses of thermal fibrous composites.

Ultra-compact multifunctional integrated photonic modules have great practical significance to photonic integrated circuits (PICs).However,the design effect and efficiency of the existing mainstream inverse design algorithms are incompetent when designing these *** analyze their shortcomings in this task,and propose a new,to our knowledge,inverse design algorithm named polygon search (PS) algorithm to address these *** utilize the PS algorithm to design an integrated dual-channel mode-conversion-crossing waveguide *** module integrates three functions:interconversion between TE_(0) and TE_(1),interconversion between TE_(0) and TE_(2),and channel crossing within only a 4μm×4μm footprint,and its performance is verified by experimental *** not only greatly reduces the total footprint of many PICs but also greatly improves their fabricating ***,we propose a PS-designed mode mixer and a PS-designed bending waveguide,and connect them with the integrated modules to form a four-channel crossing-mode-division-multiplexing *** system can provide multiple modes on the basis of channel crossing and transmit the output signal in the same direction in parallel within a single output waveguide,which significantly increases the communication bandwidth and decreases the footprint of *** last,we demonstrate the effect and efficiency advantages of the PS algorithm over several mainstream inverse design algorithms by a comprehensive contrast experiment and explain these advantages in theory from several perspectives.

Face stability is an essential issue in tunnel design and *** rock masses are typical and ubiquitous;uncertainties in rock properties always *** view of this,a comprehensive method,which combines the Upper bound Limit analysis of Tunnel face stability,the Polynomial Chaos Kriging,the Monte-Carlo Simulation and Analysis of Covariance method(ULT-PCK-MA),is proposed to investigate the seismic stability of tunnel faces.A two-dimensional analytical model of ULT is developed to evaluate the virtual support force based on the upper bound limit *** efficient probabilistic analysis method PCK-MA based on the adaptive Polynomial Chaos Kriging metamodel is then implemented to investigate the parameter uncertainty *** input parameters,including geological strength indices,uniaxial compressive strengths and constants for three rock formations,and the horizontal seismic coefficients,are treated as random *** effects of these parameter uncertainties on the failure probability and sensitivity indices are *** addition,the effects of weak layer position,the middle layer thickness and quality,the tunnel diameter,the parameters correlation,and the seismic loadings are investigated,*** results show that the layer distributions significantly influence the tunnel face probabilistic stability,particularly when the weak rock is present in the bottom *** efficiency of the proposed ULT-PCK-MA is validated,which is expected to facilitate the engineering design and construction.
