P(VDF-HFP)-poly(sulfur-1,3-diisopropenylbenzene) functional polymer electrolyte for lithium–sulfur batteries

Lithium–sulfur(Li–S)battery as a high-energy density electrochemical energy storage system has attracted many researchers’***,the shuttle effect of Li–S batteries and the challenges associated with lithium metal anode caused poor cycle *** this work,the organosulfide poly(sulfur-1,3-diisopropenylbenzene)(PSD)was prepared as cathode material and additive of P(VDFHFP)polymer electrolyte(P(VDF-HFP)).It was verified that P(VDF-HFP)polymer electrolyte with 10%PSD(P(VDF-HFP)-10%PSD)showed a higher ionic conductivities than that of liquid electrolyte up to2.27×10-3 S cm-1 at room *** quasi-solid-state Li-S batteries fabricated with organosulfide cathode material PSD and P(VDF-HFP)based functional polymer electrolyte delivered good cycling stability(780 m Ah g-1 after 200 th cycle at 0.1 C)and rate performance(613 m Ah g-1 at 1 C).The good cycling performance could be attributed to the synergistic effect of components,including the interaction between polysulfides and polymer main chain in the organosulfide cathode,the sustained organic/inorganic hybrid stable SEI layer formed by polymer electrolyte additive PSD,the improved cathode/electrolyte interface and the good affinity between P(VDF-HFP)based functional polymer electrolyte and Li metal *** strategy herein may provide a new route to fabricate high-performance Li–S batteries through the organosulfide cathode and functional polymer electrolyte.

Effect of Niobium on Microstructure and Properties of the CoCrFeNb_xNi High Entropy Alloys

A series of CoCrFeNb_xNi（x values in molar ratio, x = 0, 0.25, 0.45, 0.5, 0.75, 1.0 and 1.2） high entropy alloys（HEAs） was prepared to investigate the alloying effect of Nb on the microstructures and mechanical properties. The results indicate that the prepared CoCrFeNb_xNi（x 〉 0） HEAs consist of a simple FCC solid solution phase and a Laves phase. The microstructures of the alloys change from an initial single-phase FCC solid solution structure（x = 0） to a hypoeutectic microstructure（x = 0.25）, then to a full eutectic microstructure（x = 0.45） and finally to a hypereutectic microstructure（0.5 〈 x 〈 1.2）. The compressive test results show that the Nb0.45（x = 0.45） alloy with a full eutectic microstructure possesses the highest compressive fracture strength of 2558 MPa and a fracture strain of 27.9%. The CoCrFeNi alloy exhibits an excellent compressive ductility, which can reach 50% height reduction without fracture. The Nb0.25 alloy with a hypoeutectic structure exhibits a larger plastic strain of 34.8%. With the increase of Nb content, increased hard/brittle Laves phase leads to a decrease of the plasticity and increases of the Vickers hardness and the wear resistance. The wear mass loss, width and depth of wear scar of the Nb1.2（x = 1.2） alloy with a hypereutectic structure are the lowest among all alloy systems, indicating that the wear resistance of the Nb1.2 alloy is the best one.

Bifunctional polymer electrolyte with higher lithium-ion transference number for lithium-sulfur batteries

Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries have attracted enormous interest due to their super-high theoretical energy density(2600 W·h/kg)in recent ***,issues such as lithium dendrites and the shuttle effect severely hampered the large-scale application of Li-S ***,a novel bifunctional gel polymer electrolyte,poly(N,Ndiallyl-N,N-dimethylammonium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonylimide))-P(VDF-HFP)(PDDA-TFSI-P(VDF-HFP),PTP),was prepared by anion exchange reaction to tackle the above *** from the interaction between TFSI-and quaternary ammonium ion in PTP,a higher lithium-ion transference number was obtained,which could availably protect Li metal ***,due to the adsorption interactions between PDDA-TFSI and polysulfides(LiPSs),the shuttle effect of Li-S batteries could be alleviated ***,the Li symmetric batteries assembled with PTP cycled more than 1000 h and lithium metal anodes were protected ***-S batteries assembled with this polymer electrolyte show a discharge specific capacity of 813 mA·h/g after 200 cycles and 467 mA·h/g at 3 C,exhibiting excellent cycling stability and C-rates performance.

Current strategies for drug discovery research mainly focus on molecular targets,in which structure biology plays a central role,such as the detailed mechanism of a drug-target *** principle of this approach is the presumed molecular mechanism or genetic background of the disease being *** this approach has brought progress in understanding the mode of action for some drugs,most prevalent illnesses-especially chronic diseases-are multifactorial and present with a group of symptoms,as is often the case in cardiovascular diseases,metabolic disorders,cancers,and so *** newly emerging term“multi-morbidity”(i.e.,multiple co-occurring diseases)describes a grand challenge for this strategy,and successful drug intervention for multimorbidity should be multifaceted[1].So,our research team has shifted its attention to a new direction that views the disease as a whole instead of a single-molecule abnormality,and focusing on drugs with multiple targets.

Seismic isolation effectively reduces seismic demands on building structures by isolating the superstructure from ground vibrations during ***,isolation strategies give less attention to acceleration-sensitive systems or ***,as the isolation layer’s displacement grows,the stiffness and frequency of traditional rolling and sliding isolation bearings increases,potentially causing self-centering and resonance *** a result,a new conical pendulum bearing has been selected for acceleration-sensitive equipment to increase self-centering capacity,and additional viscous dampers are incorporated to enhance system ***,the theoretical formula for conical pendulum bearings is supplied to analyze the device’s dynamic parameters,and shake table experiments are used to determine the proposed device’s isolation efficiency under various *** to the test results,the newly proposed devices have remarkable isolation performance in terms of minimizing both acceleration and displacement ***,a numerical model of the isolation system is provided for further research,and the accuracy is demonstrated by the aforementioned experiments.

The fast method and convergence analysis of the fractional magnetohydrodynamic coupled flow and heat transfer model for the generalized second-grade fluid

In this paper,we first establish a new fractional magnetohydrodynamic(MHD)coupled flow and heat transfer model for a generalized second-grade *** coupled model consists of a fractional momentum equation and a heat conduction equation with a generalized form of Fourier *** second-order fractional backward difference formula is applied to the temporal discretization and the Legendre spectral method is used for the spatial *** fully discrete scheme is proved to be stable and convergent with an accuracy of O(τ^(2)+N-r),whereτis the time step-size and N is the polynomial *** reduce the memory requirements and computational cost,a fast method is developed,which is based on a globally uniform approximation of the trapezoidal rule for integrals on the real *** strict convergence of the numerical scheme with this fast method is *** present the results of several numerical experiments to verify the effectiveness of the proposed ***,we simulate the unsteady fractional MHD flow and heat transfer of the generalized second-grade fluid through a porous *** effects of the relevant parameters on the velocity and temperature are presented and analyzed in detail.

Do nocturnal birds use acoustic and visual cues to avoid predation by bats?

Anti-predation strategies are critical to animal survival and are fundamental to deciphering predator–prey *** an important defense strategy,sensory predator detection(such as through acoustic and visual cues)enables animals to assess predation risk and execute predator-avoidance behavior;however,there are limited studies on the anti-predation behavior of nocturnal *** prey of bats provides an excellent representative system for examining the anti-predation behavior of nocturnal ***,we broadcasted different types of echolocation calls of the bird-eating bat Ia io to two wild passerine birds,namely,Zosterops japonicus and Sinosuthora webbiana,that are preyed upon by ***,and presented the birds with individual bats under different light *** results showed that both bird species were able to perceive the low-frequency audible portion of the bats’echolocation calls;however,they did not exhibit escape responses to the acoustic *** the dark and under moonlit conditions,both bird species were unable to respond to active bats at close range and the birds only exhibited evasive flight behavior when bats approached or touched *** results suggest that nocturnal passerine birds may not be able to use acoustic or visual cues to detect bats and adopt evasive maneuvers to avoid *** work suggests that bat predation pressure may not elicit primary predator-avoidance responses in nocturnal passerine *** results provide new insights into the anti-predation behavior of nocturnal animals.

A Reverse Path Planning Approach for Enhanced Performance of Multi-Degree-of-Freedom Industrial Manipulators

Associative Tasks Computing Offloading Scheme in Internet of Medical Things with Deep Reinforcement Learning

The Internet of Medical Things(Io MT) is regarded as a critical technology for intelligent healthcare in the foreseeable 6G era. Nevertheless, due to the limited computing power capability of edge devices and task-related coupling relationships, Io MT faces unprecedented challenges. Considering the associative connections among tasks, this paper proposes a computing offloading policy for multiple-user devices(UDs) considering device-to-device(D2D) communication and a multi-access edge computing(MEC)technique under the scenario of Io MT. Specifically,to minimize the total delay and energy consumption concerning the requirement of Io MT, we first analyze and model the detailed local execution, MEC execution, D2D execution, and associated tasks offloading exchange model. Consequently, the associated tasks’ offloading scheme of multi-UDs is formulated as a mixed-integer nonconvex optimization problem. Considering the advantages of deep reinforcement learning(DRL) in processing tasks related to coupling relationships, a Double DQN based associative tasks computing offloading(DDATO) algorithm is then proposed to obtain the optimal solution, which can make the best offloading decision under the condition that tasks of UDs are associative. Furthermore, to reduce the complexity of the DDATO algorithm, the cacheaided procedure is intentionally introduced before the data training process. This avoids redundant offloading and computing procedures concerning tasks that previously have already been cached by other UDs. In addition, we use a dynamic ε-greedy strategy in the action selection section of the algorithm, thus preventing the algorithm from falling into a locally optimal solution. Simulation results demonstrate that compared with other existing methods for associative task models concerning different structures in the Io MT network, the proposed algorithm can lower the total cost more effectively and efficiently while also providing a tradeoff between delay and energy co
