Effect of recombinant human endostatin on endometriosis in mice

Background Direct and indirect evidences have suggested that angiogenesis is a prerequisite for the development of endometriosis. Aiming at offering experimental evidences for anti-angiogenesis therapy, we transplanted the eutopic endometrium from patient with endometriosis into the severe combined immunodeficiency disease （SCID） mice, to evaluate the effect of the endostatin on the growth and angiogenesis of the established endometriosis lesions in SCID mice model. Methods Eutopic endometrium of women with endometriosis was transplanted into the SCID mice. The mice were randomized into treatment （n= 10） and control groups （n=10）. Two weeks after the implantation of endometrium fragment, the treatment group was injected with recombinant human endostatin YH-16 into the peritoneal cavity （2 mg·kg^-1·d^-1）, whereas the control group received equivalent volume of PBS （200 μl/d）. The volume of endometriotic lesions in SCID mice was measured every three days, and all the treatment lasted for 14 days. Immunohistochemistry was used to determine microvessel density （MVD） and the expression of VEGF. The results were analyzed by t test and X^2 test to value the treating effect. Results Compared with the control group, growth of endometriosis lesion was reduced in the mice treated with YH-16. Statistically significant differences in the volume and weight of the ectopic lesions were observed between the treatment and the control groups （P〈0.05）. Microscopical examination showed that after being treated with YH-16, the volume of the endometrial tissues decreased, the glands depauperated, and the glandular epithelium partially degenerated. Necrotic debris was observed in the endometrial stroma. Electroless copper plating process of N, N, N, N′-tetrakis (2-hydroxypropyl) ethylenediamine system with high plating rate

Electroless copper plating process of N, N, N′, N′-tetrakis (2-hydroxypropyl)ethylenediamine(THPED) chelating agent was researched comprehensively. The results indicate that plating rate decreases with the 3H2O has a bad effect on deposits quality, but 2, 2′-dipyridyl and PEG make deposits quality improve greatly. Low concentration of 2-mercaptobenzothiozole (2-MBT) increases plating rate and improves deposits quality, but decreases plating rate and worsens deposits quality when 2-MBT reaches 5 mg/L. The optimal conditions of this electroless MBT are 16.8 g/L, 16.0 mL/L, 13.3 g/L, 0.5 g/L, 5.0 mg/L and 2.0 mg/L, respectively, pH value is 12.75,bath temperature is 30 ℃. Plating rate reaches 9.54 μm/h plating for 30 min in the bath. The SEM images demonstrate that the surface of copper film is smooth and the crystal is fine.

Point defect concentrations of L12-Al3X(Sc, Zr, Er)

The point defect concentrations of L12-A13X（Sc, Zr, Er） were systematically investigated using the first- principle calculations with thermodynamics approach. The results show that the constitutional point defects of off- stoichiometric L12-A13X（Sc, Zr, Er） prefer to occur in X sublattice, that is X anti-site in X-rich alloy and X vacancy in Al-rich alloy, respectively. And A1 anti-site also has a high density in Al-rich Llz-A13X（Sc, Er）. It is found that the point defect concentrations of stoichiometric L12-A/3X（Sc, Zr） follow in the sequence as： A1 vacancies （VA0 〉 X vacancies （Vx）〉 X anti-sites （XA1）〉 A1 anti- sites （Alx）. The point defect concentration of stoichio- metric A13Er is similar to that of L12-A13X（Sc, Zr）. The result suggests that the A1 vacancy （VA1） is a dominant point defect in L12-A13X（Sc, Zr, Er）. A simple parameter Hvx-HVA1 can be used for a rough estimation of the point defect concentrations in L12-A13X structure. Some rules of point defect concentrations for L12-A13X（Sc, Zr, Er） are also revealed.

We report the discovery of a peculiar X-ray transient,EP240408a,by Einstein Probe （EP） and follow-up studies made with EP,Swift,NICER,GROND,ATCA and other ground-based multiwavelength *** new transient was first detected with Wide-field X-ray Telescope （WXT） on board EP on April 8th,2024,manifested in an intense yet brief X-ray flare lasting for *** flare reached a peak flux of 3.9×10-9erg cm-2s-1in 0.5-4 ke V,～300 times brighter than the underlying X-ray emission detected throughout the *** and more precise follow-up observations by EP/FXT,Swift and NICER confirmed the finding of this new *** X-ray spectrum is non-thermal in 0.5-10 ke V,with a power-law photon index varying *** X-ray light curve shows a plateau lasting for ～4 d,followed by a steep decay till becoming undetectable ～10 d after the initial *** on its temporal property and constraints from previous EP observations,an unusual timescale in the range of 7-23 d is found for EP240408a,which is intermediate between the commonly found fast and long-term *** counterparts have been found in optical and near-infrared,with the earliest observation at 17 h after the initial X-ray detection,suggestive of intrinsically weak emission in these *** demonstrate that the remarkable properties of EP240408a are inconsistent with any of the transient types known so far,by comparison with,in particular,jetted tidal disruption events,gamma-ray bursts,X-ray binaries and fast blue optical *** nature of EP240408a thus remains an *** suggest that EP240408a may represent a new type of transients with intermediate timescales of the order of～10 *** detection and follow-ups of more of such objects are essential for revealing their origin.

In this work,Raman measurements of 1-5-layer WSe2 supported on SiO2/Si in the temperature range of 133 to 533 K are reported.A physical model including both volume effect and temperature effect is used to quantitatively understand the nonlinear temperature dependence of E2g^1Raman *** is found this nonlinear dependence of Raman mode mainly originates from thermal expansion effect and three-phonon *** former effect increases with an increase in number of layers,which is inverse for the latter *** temperature-dependent thermal expansion coefficients of 1-5-layer WSe2 are also obtained from Raman *** full width at half maximum(FWHM)of E;g mode is also systematically studied both experimentally and theoretically in the temperature range of 133 to 413 *** is found that the increase in FWHM of E2g^1 mode originates from decaying of E2g^1 *** work will promote the understanding of anharmonic behaviors of phonons in WSe2 flakes with different thicknesses.

Transcriptional identification of differentially expressed genes associated with division of labor in Apis cerana cerana

Workers of Apis cerana cerana undergo an in-hive nursing to outdoor foraging transition,but the genes underlying this age-related transition remain largely ***,we sequenced the head transcriptomes of its 7-day-old normal nurses,18-and 22-day-old normal foragers,7-day-old precocious foragers and 22-day-old over-aged nurses to unravel the genes associated with this *** of the sequence reads to Apis mellifera genome showed that the three types of foragers had a greater percentage of reads from annotated exons and intergenic regions,whereas the two types of nurses had a greater percentage of reads from ***-and group-wise comparisons of the five transcriptomes revealed 59 uniquely expressed genes(18 in nurses and 41 in foragers)and 14 nurse-and 15 forager-upregulated *** uniquely expressed genes are usually low-abundance long noncoding RNAs,transcription factors,transcription coactivators,RNA-binding proteins,kinases or phosphatases that are involved in signaling and/or regulation,whereas the nurse-or forager-upregulated genes are often high-abundance downstream genes that directly perform the tasks of nurses or *** together,these results suggest that the nurse-forager transition is coordinated by a social signal-triggered epigenetic shift from introns to exons/intergenic regions and the resulting transcriptional shift between the nurse-and forager-associated genes.

The dissatisfactory mechanical compliance between stiff polypropylene(PP)and soft human tissue is one of the main factors causing the implanted complication of PP mesh devices such as chronic abdominopelvic pain and mesh *** work aims to improve the mechanical compliance of PP monofilament to human tissue without compromising the mechanical properties by elaborating polyurethane pillowy soft mat on the PP monofilament *** polarity pretreatment with dopamine-sedimentation,stiff PP monofilament can be wrapped up facilely and tightly in soft polyurethane to obtain PU/PP complex fiber with a core-shell ***,the interfacial shear strengths(IFSS)between stepwise treated PP monofilament and PU mat can effectively increase 586%compared to raw *** work provides a promising surface modification strategy to improve the interfacial adhesion between PP monofilament and PU *** obtained novel PU/PP complex fiber with pillowy soft mat would be a potential application in abdominal wall defects,hernia repair and pelvic organ prolapsed surgery.

Increased endothelin receptor B and G protein coupled kinase-2 in the mesentery of portal hypertensive rats

AIM: To elucidate the mechanisms of mesenteric vasodilation in portal hypertension (PHT), with a focus on endothelin signaling. METHODS: PHT was induced in rats by common bile duct ligation (CBDL). Portal pressure (PP) was measured directly via catheters placed in the portal vein tract. The level of endothelin-1 (ET-1) in the mesenteric circulation was determined by radioimmunoassay, and the expression of the endothelin A receptor (ETAR) and endothelin B receptor (ETBR) was assessed by immunofluorescence and Western blot. Additionally, expression of G protein coupled kinase-2 (GRK2) and β-arrestin 2, which influence endothelin receptor sensitivity, were also studied by Western blot. RESULTS: PP of CBDL rats increased significantly (11.89 ± 1.38 mmHg vs 16.34 ± 1.63 mmHg). ET-1 expression decreased in the mesenteric circulation 2 and 4 wk after CBDL. ET-1 levels in the systemic circulation of CBDL rats were increased at 2 wk and decreased at 4 wk. There was no change in ETAR expression in response to CBDL; however, increased expression of ETBR in the endothelial cells of mesenteric arterioles and capillaries was observed. In sham-operated rats, ETBR was mainly expressed in the CD31+ endothelial cells of the arterioles. With development of PHT, in addition to the endothelial cells, ETBR expression was noticeably detectable in the SMA+ smooth muscle cells of arterioles and in the CD31+ capillaries. Following CBDL, increased expression of GRK2 was also found in mesenteric tissue, though there was no change in the level of β-arrestin 2. CONCLUSION: Decreased levels of ET-1 and increased ETBR expression in the mesenteric circulation following CBDL in rats may underlie mesenteric vasodilation in individuals with PHT. Mechanistically, increased GRK2 expression may lead to desensitization of ETAR, as well as other vasoconstrictors, promoting this vasodilatory effect.

Objective This study aimed to understand the epidemic status and phylogenetic relationships of rotavirus group A(RVA)in the Pearl River Delta region of Guangdong Province,*** This study included individuals aged 28 days–85 years.A total of 706 stool samples from patients with acute gastroenteritis collected between January 2019 and January 2020 were analyzed for 17 causative pathogens,including RVA,using a Gastrointestinal Pathogen Panel,followed by genotyping,virus isolation,and complete sequencing to assess the genetic diversity of *** The overall RVA infection rate was 14.59%(103/706),with an irregular epidemiological *** proportion of co-infection with RVA and other pathogens was 39.81%(41/103).Acute gastroenteritis is highly prevalent in young children aged 0–1 year,and RVA is the key pathogen circulating in patients 6–10 months of age with diarrhea.G9P[8](58.25%,60/103)was found to be the predominant genotype in the RVA strains,and the 41 RVA-positive strains that were successfully sequenced belonged to three different RVA genotypes in the phylogenetic *** analysis showed that gene reassortment events,selection pressure,codon usage bias,gene polymorphism,and post-translational modifications(PTMs)occurred in the G9P[8]and G3P[8]*** This study provides molecular evidence of RVA prevalence in the Pearl River Delta region of China,further enriching the existing information on its genetics and evolutionary characteristics and suggesting the emergence of genetic *** the surveillance of genotypic changes and gene reassortment in RVA strains is essential for further research and a better understanding of strain variations for further vaccine development.
