Theoretical analysis and engineering application of controllable shock wave technology for enhancing coalbed methane in soft and low‑permeability coal seams

Coalbed methane(CBM)is a significant factor in triggering coal and gas outburst disaster,while also serving as a clean *** the increasing depth of mining operations,coal seams that exhibit high levels of gas content and low permeability have become increasingly *** controllable shockwave(CSW)technology has proven effective in enhancing CBM in laboratory settings,there is a lack of reports on its field applications in soft and low-permeability coal *** study establishes the governing equations for stress waves induced by *** numerical inversion was employed to analyse the dynamic response of the coal seam during CSW ***,quantitative calculations were performed for the crushed zone,fracture zone,and effective CSW influence range,which guided the selection of field test *** results of the field test unveiled a substantial improvement in the gas permeability coefficient,the average rate of pure methane flowrate,and the mean gas flowrate within a 10 m radius of the antireflection *** enhancements were notable,showing increases of 3 times,13.72 times,and 11.48 times,***,the field test performed on the CSW antireflection gas extraction hole cluster demonstrated a noticeable improvement in CBM *** antireflection,the maximum peak gas concentration and maximum peak pure methane flow reached 71.2%and 2.59 m^(3)/min,*** findings will offer valuable guidance for the application of CSW antireflection technology in soft and low-permeability coal seams.

The eutrophication of Chaohu Lake in China is mainly attributed to nitrate inflow from non-point sources in the lake catchment. In this study,biological nitrate reduction from groundwater in the Chaohu Lake Catchment was investigated under laboratory conditions in a continuous upflow reactor. Sodium acetate served as the carbon source and electron donor. Results showed that a carbon-to-nitrogen(C/N) molar ratio of 3:1 and hydraulic retention time(HRT) of 8 d could achieve the most rapid nitrate nitrogen(NO_3^--N) depletion(from 100 mg/L to 1 mg/L within120 h). This rate was confirmed when field groundwater was tested in the reactor, in which a NO_3^--N removal rate of 97.71% was achieved(from60.35 mg/L to 1.38 mg/L within 120 h). Different levels of the initial NO_3^--N concentration(30, 50, 70, and 100 mg/L) showed observable influence on the denitrification rates, with an overall average NO_3^--N removal efficiency of 98.25% at 120 h. Nitrite nitrogen(NO_2^--N)accumulated in the initial 12 h, and then kept decreasing, until it reached 0.0254 mg/L at 120 h. Compared with the initial value, there was a slight accumulation of 0.04 mg/L for the ammonia nitrogen(NH4-N) concentration in the effluent, which is, however, less than the limit *** results can provide a reference for evaluating performance of denitrification in situ.

The overabundance of the red and massive candidate galaxies observed by the James Webb Space Telescope(JWST)implies efficient structure formation or large star formation efficiency at high redshift z~*** the scenario of a low or moderate star formation efficiency,because massive neutrinos tend to suppress the growth of structure of the universe,the JWST observation tightens the upper bound of the neutrino *** A cold dark matter cosmology and a star formation efficiency∈[0.05,0.3](flat prior),we perform joint analyses of Planck+JWST and Planck+BAO+JWST,and obtain improved constraints∑m_(ν)<0.196 eV and ∑m_(ν)+<0.111 eV at 95% confidence level,*** on the above assumptions,the inverted mass ordering,which implies ∑m_(ν)≥0.1 eV,is excluded by Planck+BAO+JWST at 92.7% confidence level.

In this study,we successfully synthesized silicon nanotubes(Si-NTs)and silicon nanowires(Si-NWs)in a controllable manner using a catalyst-and template-free method through the direct electrolysis of SiO_(2)in a molten CaCl_(2)-CaO system,while also proposing a novel formation mechanism for ***-NWs are formed through electro-deoxidation when the cell voltage is within the range of CaO decomposition voltage and SiO_(2)decomposition *** subsequently adjusting the voltage to a value between the decomposition potentials of CaCl_(2)and CaO,in-situ electro-deoxidation of CaO takes place on the surface of the synthesized Si-NWs,leading to the formation of a Ca *** formation of Ca-Si diffusion couple leads to the creation of vacancies within the Si-NWs,as the outward diffusion rate of Si exceeds the inward diffusion rate of *** differential diffusion rates between Si and Ca in a diffusion couple exhibit an analogy to the Kirkendall *** vacancies gradually accumulate and merge,forming large voids,which ultimately result in the formation of hollow *** a subsequent dealloying process,the removal of the embedded calcium leads to the formation of *** the application of a carbon coating,the Si-NTs@C composite showcases a high initial discharge capacity of 3211 mAh·g^(-1)at 1.5 A·g^(-1)and exhibits exceptional long-term cycling stability,maintaining a capacity of 977 mAh·g^(-1)after 2000 cycles at 3.0 A·g^(-1).
