The study of nano- and submicron Brownian particle-laden turbulent flow has wide industrial applicability and hence has received much attention. The purpose of the present paper is to provide and review some researches in this field. The topics are related to the universality, particularity, complexity and importance of nano- and submicron Brownian particle-laden turbulent flow, the models of particle general dynamical equation, the collision behavior of particles. Finally, several open research issues are identified.

Wireless technology is applied increasingly in networked control systems. A new form of wireless network called wireless sensor network can bring control systems some advantages, such as flexibility and feasibility of network deployment at low costs, while it also raises some new challenges. First, the communication resources shared by all the control loops are limited. Second, the wireless and multi-hop character of sensor network makes the resources scheduling more difficult. Thus, how to effectively allocate the limited communication resources for those control loops is an important problem. In this paper, this problem is formulated as an optimal sampling frequency assignment problem, where the objective function is to maximize the utility of control systems, subject to channel capacity constraints. Then an iterative distributed algorithm based on local buffer information is proposed. Finally, the simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively allocate the limited communication resource in a distributed way. It can achieve the optimal quality of the control system and adapt to the network load changes.

Nanoparticle nucleation and coagulation in a mixing layer

Numerical simulation of nanoparticle nucleation and coagulation in a mixing layer with sulfuric acid vapor binary system is performed using the large eddy simulation and the direct quadrature method of moment. The distributions of number concentration, volume concentration, and average diameter of nanoparticles are obtained. The results show that the coherent structures have an important effect on the distributions of number concentration, volume concentration and average diameter of nanoparticles via continuously transporting and diffusing the nanoparticles to the area of low particle concentration. In the streamwise direction, the number concentration of nanoparticles decreases, while the volume concentration and the average diameter increase. The distributions of number concentration, volume concentration and average diameter of nanoparticles are spatially inhomogeneous. The characteristic time of nucleation is shorter than that of coagulation. The nucleation takes place more easily in the area of low temperature because where the number concentration of nanoparticles is high, while the intensity of coagulation is mainly affected by the number concentration. Both nucleation and coagulation result in the variation of average diameter of nanoparticles.

建立了离子色谱-电感耦合等离子体质谱联用技术同时测定地表水中砷、铬、汞等3种元素8种形态含量的方法。地表水样品用水相滤膜过滤,采用GIST C_(8)(250 mm×4.6 mm,5μm)色谱柱,以0.01 mol/L四丁基氢氧化铵+0.05%L-半胱氨酸+4%甲醇作为淋洗液(pH为6.0,流量为0.9 mL/min),分离样品后进行测定。试验结果表明:三价砷、二甲基砷、一甲基砷、五价砷、无机汞、甲基汞、乙基汞和六价铬可在10 min内得到有效分离,砷、铬、汞的检出限分别为0.075~0.15、0.86、0.00010~0.020μg/L,加标回收率分别为88.8%~108.3%、84.9%、87.7%~96.0%,相对标准偏差分别为1.41%~4.02%、1.82%、0.43%~2.17%。采用该方法检测地表水样品,可满足地表水标准限定值和检测要求。

Flows past two tandem cylinders of different diameters placed centrally in a channel with fixed centre-to-centre spacing 6D and diameter ratio are simulated based on the Lattice Boltzmann Method（LBM）.In all the simulations,the diameter of the smaller cylinder is chosen as the characteristic *** Reynolds number based on the average inflow velocity is 20-120 and studies are over the range of blockage ratio *** both Small-Big Arrangement（SBA）and Big-Small Arrangement（BSA）,the effects of the channel width and Reynolds number on the flow structures and force coefficients are *** show that the flows in BSA are more regular than those in SBA for the same flow *** BSA with and,the force coefficients all fluctuate with constant amplitudes and a coupled frequency,the coupled frequency becomes small as the blockage ratio decreases and by an exact test we give out the relation of the blockage ratio and Strouhal *** the blockage ratio decreases to 2,there exist pitchfork bifurcations in both SBA and BSA,and results show that the critical Reynolds numbers of pitchfork bifurcations for SBA and BSA are both between 60 and *** SBA with,the flow structure has a static asymmetric *** is found that the channel width has also an effect on the critical spacing where the flow changes from single body mode into co-shedding *** an accurate survey on flows past two cylinders with equal diameters placed inside a channel with the width,the relation between channel width and the critical spacing is given and results show that the critical spacing increases as the channel width increases.

In this paper, the feasibility of controlling the subsonic jet flow and its noise using pores of blind holes added on the nozzle inner wall is explored numerically. These pores are intended to introduce disturbances to the shear layer so as to change the flow mixing. This passive strategy has not been attempted so far. A convergent nozzle with a cylindrical extension is selected as the baseline case. Three nozzles with pores on the inner wall are set up. Validations of the numerical settings are carried out, then the compressible turbulent jets at the exit Math number Mj = 0.6 in the four nozzles are calculated by large eddy simulations （LES）, while the ra-diated sounds are predicted by the FW-H acoustic analogy. The results show that the blind holes have produced some effects on weakening the turbulence intensity in the shear layer. Comparison reveals that both temporal and spatial correlations of the turbulent fluctuations in the modified cases are suppressed to some extent. Meanwhile, the porous nozzles are shown to suppress the pairing of vortices and enhance the flow mixing, and therefore, the development of shear layer and the fragmentation of large scale vortices are accelerated.

The Brownian coagulation of nanoparticles with initial bimodal size distribution, i.e., mode i and j, is numerically studied using the moment method. Evolutions of particle number concentration, geometric average diameter and geometric standard deviation are given in the free molecular regime, the continuum regime, the free molecular regime and transition regime, the free molecular regime and continuum regime, respectively. The results show that, both in the free molecular regime and the continuum regime, the num- ber concentration of mode i and j decreases with increasing time. The evolutions of particle geometric average diameter with different initial size distribution are quite different. Both intra-modal and inter-modal coagulation finally make the polydispersed size distribution become monodispersed. As time goes by, the size distribution with initial bimodal turns to be unimoda/and shifts to a larger particle size range. In the free molecular regime and transition regime, the inter- modal coagulation becomes dominant when the number concentrations of mode i and j are of the same order. The effects of the number concentration of mode i and mode j on the evolution of geometric average diameter of mode j are negligible, while the effects of the number concentration of mode j on the evolution of geometric average diameter of mode j is distinct. In the free molecular regime and continuum regime, the higher the initial number concentration of mode j, the more obvious the variation of the number concentration of mode i.

Consolidated cluster systems for data centers in the cloud age： a survey and analysis

In the cloud age, heterogeneous application modes on large-scale infrastructures bring about the chal- lenges on resource utilization and manageability to data cen- ters. Many resource and runtime management systems are developed or evolved to address these challenges and rele- vant problems from different perspectives. This paper tries to identify the main motivations, key concerns, common fea- tures, and representative solutions of such systems through a survey and analysis. A typical kind of these systems is gener- alized as the consolidated cluster system, whose design goal is identified as reducing the overall costs under the quality of service premise. A survey on this kind of systems is given, and the critical issues concerned by such systems are sum- marized as resource consolidation and runtime coordination. These two issues are analyzed and classified according to the design styles and external characteristics abstracted from the surveyed work. Five representative consolidated cluster systems from both academia and industry are illustrated and compared in detail based on the analysis and classifications. We hope this survey and analysis to be conducive to both de- sign implementation and technology selection of this kind of systems, in response to the constantly emerging challenges on infrastructure and application management in data centers.
