The genus Indabracon van Achterberg, 1993 was discovered in China, and one new species （I. bicolor sp. nov.） of this genus is fully described and illustrated in the present paper. A key to the species of the genus is provided. The new species is similar to the Indian species I. trimaculatus （Cameron, 1900） structurally, but differs for example by： basal half of pterostigma yellow; apical half dark brown; smooth postero-lateral area of the third tergite rather small; propodeum with belt of setae dorsally and lamelliform carinae posteriorly; ovipositor sheath approximately 0.60 times the forewing, somewhat longer than metasoma; the first tergite surface distinctly carinate and rugose, especially in its medial area and laterally. The type specimens are deposited in the Beneficial Insects Lab, College of Plant Protection, Fujian Agriculture ＆ Forestry University, China.

The validity of Local Cubic Law （LCL） is an important issue to study groundwater flow and transport in fractured media. According to laboratory simulaion tests, the average velocity with a lower gradient in a single fracture is calculated by the LCL, which is compared with the measured average velocity. Then dye tracer test is designed and completed. The evidence for non-LCL, is drawn from the results of the simulation tests and the dye tracer tests. Then the Reynolds number of groundwater is calculated, the critical value of Re for laminar flow is discussed in a single fracture under different conditions. The motion types for groundwater flow have been discussed.

H5N1 influenza represents one of the great challenges to public *** H5N1 viruses(i.e.,A/goose/Hubei/65/05,GS/65) are weakly pathogenic,while the others(i.e.,A/duck/Hubei/49/05,DK/49) are highly pathogenic to their natural ***,we performed brain and spleen transcriptomic analyses of control ducks and ones infected by the DK/49 or the GS/65 H5N1 *** demonstrated that,compared to the GS/65 virus,the DK/49 virus infection changed more numerous immune genes’ expression and caused continuous increasing of immune pathways(i.e.,RIG-I and MDA5) in *** found that both H5N1 virus strains might escape or subvert host immune response through affecting alternative translation of immune genes,while the DK/49 virus seemed to induce alternative translation of more immune genes than the GS/65 *** also identified five co-expressional modules associated with H5N1 virus replication through the weight correlation network analysis(WGCNA).Moreover,we first demonstrated that the duck BCL2 L15 and DCSTAMP in one of these five modules inhibited both the highly pathogenic and weakly pathogenic H5N1 virus replication *** analyses,in combination with our comprehensive transcriptomic data,provided global view of the molecular architecture for the interaction between host and H5N1 viruses.

Glaucoma, the second leading cause of blindness, is an irreversible optic neuropathy. The mechanism of optic nerve injury caused by glaucoma is undefined at present. There is no effective treatment method for the injury. Stem cells have the capacity of self-renewal and differentiation. These two features have made them become the research focus on improving the injury at present. This paper reviews the application progress on different types of stem cells therapy for optic nerve injury caused by glaucoma.

Cryptosporidium is a protozoan parasite belonging to the phylum Apicomplexa that causes self-limiting diarrhea in immunocompetent individuals, and it may also cause chronic and life-threatening diarrhea in those that are immunocompromised[1]. The two main routes of Cryptosporidium transmission are via water and food. At least 30 Cryptosporidium species have been confirmed, including C. andersoni, with more than 70 genotypes of undefined species.

Minocycline is a tetracycline antibiotic and has been shown to play a protective role in cerebral and myocardial ischemia/reperfusion(I/R).However,the underlying mechanism remains ***,we investigated whether monocyte chemotactic protein-induced protein-1(MCPIP1),a negative regulator of inflammation,was involved in the minocycline-induced cardioprotection in myocardial I/R in vivo and in vitro *** ischemia was induced in rats by left anterior descending coronary artery occlusion for 1 h and followed by 48 h *** was administered prior to ischemia(45 mg/kg,ip,BID,for 1 d)and over the course of reperfusion(22.5 mg/kg,ip,BID,for 2 d).Cardiac function and infarct sizes were *** of minocycline significantly decreased the infarct size,alleviated myocardial cell damage,elevated left ventricle ejection fraction,and left ventricle fractional shortening following I/R injury along with significantly decreased pro-inflammatory cytokine IL-1β and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1(MCP-1)levels in heart tissue.H9c2 cardiomyocytes were subjected to oxygen glucose deprivation(OGD)followed by reoxygenation(OGD/R).Pretreatment with minocycline(1-50μmol/L)dosedependently increased the cell viability and inhibited OGD/R-induced expression of MCP-1 and ***,minocycline dose-dependently inhibited nuclear translocation of NF-κB p65 in H9c2 cells subjected to OGD/*** both the in vivo and in vitro models,minocycline significantly increased MCPIP1 protein expression;knockdown of MCPIP1 with siRNA in H9c2 cells abolished all the protective effects of minocycline against OGD/R-induced *** results demonstrate that minocycline alleviates myocardial/R injury via upregulating MCPIP1,then subsequently inhibiting NF-κB activation and pro-inflammatory cytokine secretion.

Thalidomide inducesγ-globin expression in erythroid progenitor cells,but its efficacy on patients with transfusion-dependentβ-thalassemia(TDT)remains *** this phase 2,multi-center,randomized,double-blind clinical trial,we aimed to determine the safety and efficacy of thalidomide in TDT patients.A hundred patients of 14 years or older were randomly assigned to receive placebo or thalidomide for 12 weeks,followed by an extension phase of at least 36 *** primary endpoint was the change of hemoglobin(Hb)level in the *** secondary endpoints included the red blood cell(RBC)units transfused and adverse *** the placebo-controlled period,Hb concentrations in patients treated with thalidomide achieved a median elevation of 14.0(range,2.5 to 37.5)g/L,whereas Hb in patients treated with placebo did not significantly *** the 12 weeks,the mean RBC transfusion volume for patients treated with thalidomide and placebo was 5.4±5.0 U and 10.3±6.4 U,respectively(P<0.001).Adverse events of drowsiness,dizziness,fatigue,pyrexia,sore throat,and rash were more common with thalidomide than *** the extension phase,treatment with thalidomide for 24 weeks resulted in a sustainable increase in Hb concentrations which reached 104.9±19.0 g/L,without blood *** increase in Hb concentration and reduction in RBC transfusions were associated with nonβ0/β0 and HBS1L-MYB(rs9399137 C/T,C/C;rs4895441 A/G,G/G)*** results demonstrated that thalidomide is effective in patients with TDT.
