Preparation of ultrafine silica from potash feldspar using sodium carbonate roasting technology

A novel process was developed for the preparation of ultrafine silica from potash feldspar. In the first step, potash feldspar was roasted with Na_2CO_3 and was followed by leaching using Na OH solution to increase the levels of potassium, sodium, and aluminum in the solid residue. The leaching solution was then carbonated to yield ultrafine silica. The optimized reaction conditions in the roasting process were as follows： an Na_2CO_3-to-potash feldspar molar ratio of 1.1, a reaction temperature of 875°C, and a reaction time of 1.5 h. Under these conditions, the extraction rate of SiO_2 was 98.13%. The optimized carbonation conditions included a final solution p H value of 9.0, a temperature of 40°C, a CO_2 flow rate of 6 m L/min, a stirring intensity of 600 r/min, and an ethanol-to-water volume ratio of 1：9. The precipitation rate and granularity of the SiO_2 particles were 99.63% and 200 nm, respectively. We confirmed the quality of the obtained ultrafine silica by comparing the recorded indexes with those specified in Chinese National Standard GB 25576―2010.

AIM To examine the effects of Acanthopanax senticosus polysaccharides(ASPS) on intestinal tight junction(TJ) disruption and nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB)/myosin light chain kinase(MLCK) activation in *** BALB/C mice(6-8-weeks-old) received continuous intragastric gavage of ASPS for 7 d before injection of lipopolysaccharide(LPS), or received ASPS once after LPS injection. Remediation of Pb-Resistant Bacteria to Pb Polluted Soil

To show the remediation of Pb-resistant bacteria to Pb polluted soil, several indices including microbial counts, soil enzyme activity, microbial community diversity and soil Pb concentration were investigated. Two Pb-resistant bacteria were filtrated and identified by previous study as Bacillus pumilus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (GeneBank Accession No. FJ402988 and GU017676) and inoculated to soil planted with cabbages. Soil with different Pb application rates were incubated for a period of 0, 12, 24, 36, 48 days in greenhouse. Results indicated the count of bacteria in 1000 mg/kg Pb treated soil greatly affected by inoculating Pb-resistant bacteria, which was raised about 237% and 347% compared with control. Soil urease and invertase were intensified 37.9% and 65.6% after inoculation compared with control. Phosphatase activity was inhibited by inoculation of Bacillus pumilus. Catalase activity was intensified about 64.2% in 24 days incubation but decrease in the following days. Microbial community diversity analyzed by polymerase chain reaction-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (PCR-DGGE) also proved that the samples inoculated with Pb-resistant bacteria exhibited more bands and intensity in DGGE patterns compared with uninoculated ones. For Pb-resistant bacteria inoculated samples, the reduction of Pb concentration in rhizospheric soil was 15 mg/kg at least and 42 mg/kg at most, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa showed a better tolerance to high Pb concentration and stronger remediation ability. It was concluded that remediation of Pb polluted soil can be promoted by the two Pb-resistant bacteria.

Lithium-rich layered oxides （LLOs） are increasingly recognized as promising cathode materials for nextgeneration high-energy-density lithium-ion batteries （LIBs）.However,they suffer from voltage decay and low initial Coulombic efficiency （ICE） due to severe structural degradation caused by irreversible O ***,we introduce a three-in-one strategy of increasing Ni and Mn content,along with Li/Ni disordering and TM–O covalency regulation to boost cationic and anionic redox activity simultaneously and thus enhance the electrochemical activity of *** target material,Li1.2Ni0.168Mn0.558Co0.074O2（L1）,exhibits an improved ICE of 87.2%and specific capacity of 293.2 mA h g-1and minimal voltage decay of less than 0.53 m V cycle-1over 300 cycles at 1C,compared to Li1.2Ni0.13Mn0.54Co0.13O2（Ls）(274.4 mA h g-1for initial capacity,73.8%for ICE and voltage decay of 0.84 mV/cycle over 300 cycles at 1C).Theoretical calculations reveal that the density of states （DOS） area near the Fermi energy level for L1 is larger than that of Ls,indicating higher anionic and cationic redox reactivity than ***,L1 exhibits increased O-vacancy formation energy due to higher Li/Ni disordering of 4.76%（quantified by X-ray diffraction Rietveld refinement） and enhanced TM–O covalency,making lattice O release more difficult and thus improving electrochemical *** increased Li/Ni disordering also leads to more Ni2+presence in the Li layer,which acts as a pillar during Li+de-embedding,improving structural *** research not only presents a viable approach to designing low-Co LLOs with enhanced capacity and ICE but also contributes significantly to the fundamental understanding of structural regulation in high-performance LIB cathodes.

The phenomenon of induced transparency, characterized by a high quality(Q) factor, holds significant importance in the fields of high-precision sensing, energy storage and wave manipulation. Conventional transparency systems are often constrained by the limited experimentally accessible parameter space and the lack of independent control over intrinsic parameters, thereby hindering advanced research on high-Q effects. Here we propose a virtualized coupled-oscillator system that enables reconfigurable induced transparency in the reflection spectrum. By virtually incorporating a pair of coupled oscillators into an individual acoustic meta-atom, we achieve the manipulation of induced transparency in a decoupled, wide-ranging, and elaborate manner. Exploiting the diverse evolutions across the intrinsic parameter space, we show experimentally a counter-intuitive increase in the Q-factor of the transparency window, which is attributed to the enhanced dissipation of the bright ***, a constant group delay at the center frequency is observed accompanying this evolution. Our work demonstrates an intriguing platform as well as a novel strategy to engineer high-Q induced transparency phenomenon, and paves the way towards applications in programmable acoustic sensors, filters and slow-wave devices.

Mitochondrial Rho-GTPase 1 (MIRO1) is an outer mitochondrial membrane protein which regulates mitochondrial transport and mitophagy in mitosis. In present study, we reported the crucial roles of MIRO1 in mammalian oocyte meiosis and its potential relationship with aging. We found that MIRO1 expressed in mouse and porcine oocytes, and its expression decreased in aged mice. MIRO1 deficiency caused the failure of meiotic resumption and polar body extrusion in both mouse and porcine oocytes, which could be rescued by exogenous MIRO1supplementation. Mass spectrometry data indicated that MIRO1 associated with several cytoskeleton and cell cycle-related proteins, and MIRO1 regulated motor protein Dynein for microtubule-organizing centers (MTOCs) dynamics at germinal vesicle (GV) stage, which determined meiotic resumption. Furthermore, we found that MIRO1 regulated Aurora A and kinesin family member 11 (KIF11) for meiotic spindle assembly in oocytes. Besides, MIRO1 associated with several mitochondria-related proteins dynamic-related protein 1 (DRP1),Parkin and lysosomal-associated membrane protein 2 (LAMP2) for mitochondrial dynamics and mitophagy during oocyte meiosis. Taken together, our results suggested that MIRO1 played pivotal roles in meiotic resumption, spindle assembly and mitochondrial function in mouse and porcine oocytes, and its insufficiency might contribute to the oocyte maturation defects during aging.

The coronavirus disease 2019（COVID-19） outbreak caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2（SARS-CoV-2） developed into a global health emergency. Systemic microthrombus caused by SARS-CoV-2 infection is a common complication in patients with COVID-19. Cardiac microthrombosis as a complication of SARS-CoV-2 infection is the primary cause of cardiac injury and death in patietns with severe COVID-19. In this study, we performed single-cell sequencing analysis of the right ventricular free wall tissue from healthy donors,patients who died during the hypercoagulable period of characteristic coagulation abnormality（CAC）, and patients who died during the fibrinolytic period of CAC. We collected 61,187 cells enriched in 24 immune cell subsets and 13 cardiac-resident cell subsets. We found that in the course of SARS-CoV-2 infected heart microthrombus, MYO1EhighRASGEF1Bhighmonocyte-derived macrophages promoted hyperactivation of the immune system and initiated the extrinsic coagulation pathway by activating chemokines CCL3, CCL5. This series of events is the main cause of cardiac microthrombi following SARS-CoV-2 infection. In a SARS-CoV-2 infected heart microthrombus, excessive immune activation is accompanied by an increase in cellular iron content, which in turn promotes oxidative stress and intensifies intercellular competition. This induces cells to alter their metabolic environment, resulting in increased sugar uptake via the glycosaminoglycan synthesis pathway. In addition, high levels of reactive oxygen species generated by elevated iron levels promote increased endogenous malondialdehyde synthesis in a subpopulation of cardiac endothelial cells. This exacerbates endothelial cell dysfunction and exacerbates the coagulopathy process.
