Vibrio parahaemolyticus,a gram-negative halophilic bacterium that naturally inhabits coastal waters,causes gastroenteritis,skin infections,and septicemia in human beings[1].This bacterium produces multiple virulence factors,including thermostable direct hemolysin(TDH),TDH-related hemolysin(TRH),type Ⅲ secretion system 1(T3SS1),T3SS2,type Ⅵ secretion system 1(T6SS1),and T6SS2[1].Furthermore,Ⅴ.parahaemolyticus forms biofilms on the surface,which help it in adapting to unfavorable conditions[2].Mature biofilm formation requires special structures,including lateral and polar flagella,exopolysaccharide(EPS),and type Ⅳ pili[2].

BACKGROUND By comprehensively analyzing the blood flow parameters of the umbilical and middle cerebral arteries,doctors can more accurately identify fetal intrauterine distress,as well as assess its severity,so that timely interventions can be implemented to safeguard the health and safety of the *** To identify the relationship between ultrasound parameters of the umbilical and middle cerebral arteries and intrauterine *** Clinical data of pregnant women admitted between January 2021 and January 2023 were collected and divided into the observation and control groups(n=50 each),according to the presence or absence of intrauterine *** ultrasound hemodynamic parameters of the uterine artery(UtA),fetal middle cerebral artery(MCA),and umbilical artery(UmA)were compared with neonatal outcomes and occurrence of intrauterine distress in the two *** Comparison of ultrasonic hemodynamic parameters,resistance index(RI),pulsatility index(PI),and systolic maximal blood flow velocity of UmA compared to diastolic blood flow velocity(S/D),revealed higher values of fetal MCA,PI,and S/D of UmA in pregnant women with UtA compared to controls(P<0.05),while there was no difference between the two groups in terms of RI(P<0.05)The incidence of a neonatal Apgar score of 8-10 points was lower in the observation group(66.7%)than in the control group(90.0%),and neonatal weight(2675.5±27.6 g)was lower than in the control group(3117.5±31.2 g).Further,cesarean section rate was higher in the observation group(70.0%)than in the control group(11.7%),and preterm labor rate was higher in the observation group(40.0%)than in the control group(10.0%).The incidence of fetal distress,neonatal growth restriction and neonatal asphyxia were also higher in the observation group(all P<0.05).CONCLUSION Fetal MCA,UmA,and maternal UtA hemodynamic abnormalities all develop in pregnant women with intrauterine distress during late pregnancy,which suggests that clinical attenti

BACKGROUND Lung cancer(LC)is the leading cause of malignancy-related deaths *** most common sites of metastasis include the nervous system,bone,liver,respiratory system,and adrenal *** metastasis in the parotid gland is very rare,and its diagnosis presents a ***,we report a case of parotid metastasis in primary *** SUMMARY The patient was a 74-year-old male who was discovered to have bilateral facial asymmetry inadvertently two years *** right earlobe was slightly swollen and without pain or *** tomography(CT)examination showed bilateral lung space-occupying *** biopsy was performed and revealed adenocarcinoma(right-upper-lung nodule tissue).Positron emission tomography-CT examination showed:(1)Two hypermetabolic nodules in the right upper lobe of the lung,enlarged hy-permetabolic lymph nodes in the right hilar and mediastinum,and malignant space-occupying lesion in the right upper lobe of the lung and possible metastasis to the right hilar and mediastinal lymph nodes;and(2)multiple hypermetabolic nodules in bilateral parotid *** puncture biopsy was performed considering lung adenocarcinoma *** detection of lung biopsy specimens revealed an EGFR gene 21 exon L858R *** This case report highlights the challenging diagnosis of parotid metastasis in LC given its rare *** lesions should be differentiated from primary tumors of the parotid *** radiological imaging is unreliable,and puncture biopsy is needed for final diagnosis of this condition.

The Southern Ocean is an important carbon sink pool and plays a critical role in the global carbon *** Amundsen Sea was reported to be highly productive in inshore area in the Southern *** order to investigate the influence of transparent exopolymer particles(TEP)on the behavior of dissolved organic carbon(DOC)in this region,a comprehensive study was conducted,encompassing both open water areas and highly productive *** was found that microbial heterotrophic metabolism is the primary process responsible for the production of humic-like fluorescent components in the open *** relationship between apparent oxygen utilization and the two humic-like components can be accurately described by a power-law function,with a conversion rate consistent with that observed *** presence of TEP was found to have little impact on this ***,the study revealed the accumulation of DOC at the sea surface in the Amundsen Sea Polynya,suggesting that TEP may play a critical role in this *** findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the dynamics and surface accumulation of DOC in the Amundsen Sea Polynya,and provide valuable insights into the carbon cycle in this region.

A novel efficient Cu_(2)WS_(4)/MoS_(2) step-scheme(S-scheme)heterojunction photocatalyst was constructed for the first time and applied in the removal of environmental *** the as-prepared photocatalysts,the Cu_(2)WS_(4)/MoS_(2)-8%heterojunc tion photoc atalyst demonstrates the optimal photocatalytic performance,with the catalytic oxidation efficiency of tetracycline(TC)and the catalytic reduction efficiency of Cr^(6+)reaching 93.3%and 82.1%,*** excellent catalytic properties of Cu_(2)WS_(4)/MoS_(2) heterojunction photocatalysts are attributed to the effective separation pathways of charges and the presence of S-scheme heterojunctions,together with stronger redox *** is speculated that the photogenerated carrier migration path of the Cu_(2)WS_(4)/MoS_(2) catalyst follows the typical S-scheme photocatalytic mechanism,which is verified by the in-depth experimental study and simulated calculations including the electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)analysis,free radical quenching experiments,charge density distribution,and simulated built-in electric field formation at the interface,which acts as driving force to promote the separation of photoinduced electrons and ***,the photocatalytic mechanism of S-scheme photogenerated carrier migration for the Cu_(2)WS_(4)/MoS_(2) catalyst is revealed based on the systematic experimental techniques and simulated calculations,accounting for its superior photocatalytic oxidation and reduction *** study provides inspiring implications to develop high-efficient S-scheme photocatalytic systems for versatile applications in solarenergy conversion.

BACKGROUND Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation(Allo-HSCT)is currently the only viable method of curing patients with acute myeloid *** 30%to 50%of patients,donors and recipients have some level of ABO blood group *** blood group incompatibility can cause antibodies against the donor's red blood cells to persist in the recipient's body,resulting in a delay of several months in the recovery of red blood cells.A number of different treatments have been reported for post-transplant pure red cell aplastic anaemia(PRCA),such as plasmapheresis,donor lymphocyte infusions,anti-thymocyte globulin,rituximab and *** SUMMARY A 41-year-old female diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia underwent peripheral blood allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation in November 2013 from an HLA matched unrelated *** donor was AB-positive and the recipient was *** patient was diagnosed with PRCA three months after receiving the donor stem cell *** failing multiple lines of therapy,the patient applied for *** receiving three doses of daratumumab,the patient developed a reticulocyte response and no longer required CONCLUSION The use of daratumumab anti-CD38 for the remove of plasma cells is safe and effective and may be tried for refractory patients with PRCA after undergoing allo-HSCT for ABO incompatibility.

Implanted neural probes can detect weak discharges of neurons in the brain by piercing soft brain tissue,thus as important tools for brain science research,as well as diagnosis and treatment of brain ***,the rigid neural probes,such as Utah arrays,Michigan probes,and metal microfilament electrodes,are mechanically unmatched with brain tissue and are prone to rejection and glial scarring after implantation,which leads to a significant degradation in the signal quality with the implantation *** recent years,flexible neural electrodes are rapidly developed with less damage to biological tissues,excellent biocompatibility,and mechanical compliance to alleviate *** them,the mechanical modeling is important for the optimization of the structure and the implantation *** this review,the theoretical calculation of the flexible neural probes is firstly summarized with the processes of buckling,insertion,and relative interaction with soft brain tissue for flexible probes from outside to ***,the corresponding mechanical simulation methods are organized considering multiple impact factors to realize minimally invasive ***,the technical difficulties and future trends of mechanical modeling are discussed for the next-generation flexible neural probes,which is critical to realize low-invasiveness and long-term coexistence in vivo.

General anesthesia is widely applied in clinical ***,the precise mechanism of loss of consciousness induced by general anesthetics remains ***,we measured the dynamics of five neurotransmitters,includingγ-aminobutyric acid,glutamate,norepinephrine,acetylcholine,and dopamine,in the medial prefrontal cortex and primary visual cortex of C57BL/6 mice through in vivo fiber photometry and genetically encoded neurotransmitter sensors under anesthesia to reveal the mechanism of general anesthesia from a neurotransmitter *** revealed that the concentrations of γ-aminobutyric acid,glutamate,norepinephrine,and acetylcholine increased in the cortex during propofol-induced loss of *** levels did not change following the hypnotic dose of propofol but increased significantly following surgical doses of propofol ***,the concentrations of the five neurotransmitters generally decreased during sevoflurane-induced loss of ***,the neurotransmitter dynamic networks were not synchronized in the non-anesthesia groups but were highly synchronized in the anesthetic *** findings suggest that neurotransmitter dynamic network synchronization may cause anesthetic-induced loss of consciousness.
