Feedforward Control for Wind Turbine Load Reduction with Pseudo-LIDAR Measurement

A gain-scheduled feedforward controller, based on pseudo-LIDAR （light detection and ranging） wind speed measurement, is designed to augment the baseline feedback controller for wind turbine＇s load reduction in above rated operation. The pseudo-LIDAR measurement data are generated from a commercial software- Bladed using a designed sampling strategy. The nonlinear wind turbine model has been simplified and linearised at a set of equilibrium operating points. The feedforward controller is firstly developed based on a linearised model at an above rated wind speed, and then expanded to the full above rated operational envelope by employing gain scheduling strategy. The combined feedforward and baseline feedback control is simulated on a 5MW industrial wind turbine model. Simulation studies demonstrate that the proposed control strategy can improve the rotor and tower load reduction performance for large wind turbines.

Cold spray(CS) is considered as a new type of repairing technique for restoration or remanufacturing of a wide range of unserviceable engineering components due to its unique ‘cold’ characteristic. In this work, a viable repairing approach i.e. "cold spraying followed by hot rolling post-treatment" was successfully applied to restore defective neutron shielding B_(4)C/6061 Al composite plates. Scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD) results revealed that the coating-substrate interface is in a good bonding state without micro-cracks. Hot rolling post-treatment resulted in improved microstructure of the as-sprayed deposit with more uniform distribution of B_(4)C particles in the ***, well bonded splat boundaries and strain free Al grains were evolved in the matrix due to enhanced splat deformation and continuous dynamic recrystallization(CDRX). Three-point bending test results revealed that the strength of the repaired material is at par with the in-service plates. The findings of this work could be considered as a great stride to further extend possible applications of CS for repairing engineering structural components.

In this study,three kinds of A380/Al2O3 composite coatings were prepared by cold spray(CS)using spherical,irregular and spherical+irregular shaped Al2O3 particulates separately mixed in the original A380 alloy *** influence of Al2O3 particulates’morphology on the microstructural characteristics(*** of Al2O3 content in coatings,coating/matrix interfacial bonding,pore size distribution and morphology etc.)and wear performance of the coatings was investigated by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray computed tomography(XCT)and 3-D optical *** indicated that the spherical Al2O3 showsobvious tamping effect during deposition *** a result,the interfaceshowedawavy shape while the matrix and particulates were mechanical interlocked with much improved *** addition,the porosity of the coating was minimized and the pores exhibited curved spherical structure with reduced *** irregular Al2O3 particles predominantly displayed the embedding effect together with fragmentation of Al2O3 ***,poor coating/matrix interfacial bonding,high porosity and the formation of angular-shaped pores were resulted in the *** sliding wear tests results revealed that the wear resistance of the coating is directly related with the retained content of Al2O3 in the *** coating containing irregular Al2O3 particulates displayed superior wear performance with its wear rate one seventh of that of the pure A380 alloy *** coating containing both kinds of Al2O3 particulates showed mixed characteristics of above two kinds of Al2O3 composite coatings.

In this study,alumina/A380 composite coatings were fabricated by cold *** influence of alumina particulates,morphology(spherical and irregular)and content on the deposition behavior of the coatings(including surface roughness,surface residual stress,cross-sectional microstructure and microhardness)was *** revealed that the spherical alumina mainly shows micro-tamping effect during deposition,which result in remarkable low surface roughness and porosity of the *** addition,very low deposition efficiency and good interfacial bonding between the coating and the substrate were *** irregular alumina particles,the embedding of ceramic particulates in the coating was dominant during deposition process,resulting in high retention in the final ***,it showed limited influence on porosity,surface roughness and interfacial bonding of the *** coatings containing irregular alumina particulates exhibited much higher microhardness than those containing spherical alumina due to the higher load-bearing capacity of deposited alumina.

Objective： The aim of the study was to analyze the clinical features of limb salvage surgery with epiphyseal preservation in children and adolescents, and to evaluate the recurrence rate, metastasis, complications, and the joint functional results after tumor resection. Methods： Between December 1995 and January 2003, 33 cases of preserving epiphysis procedure had been done. In this group, the tumor located in distal femur in 24 cases and in proximal tibia in 9 cases. There were 23 osteosarcomas, 6 Ewing＇s sarcomas, 2 chondrosarcomas, and 2 aggressive osteoblastomas. The patients received 2-4 cycles of preoperative adjuvant chemotherapy, and another 6 cycles after surgery. The modified protocol T10 was taken. Radiography and MRI were used to determine the margins of the tumors preoperatively and histological examination was used to corroborate the evidence intraoperatively. The tumors were staged clinically. Among them, there were 2 cases in ⅠA, 2 cases in ⅠB, 17 cases in ⅡA, and 12 cases in liB. According to the MRI analysis, the metaphyseal tumors in children were classified into 3 types. Type Ⅰ, with the tumor close to but not contacting epiphyseal plate, and the distance between the two over 2 cm, was taken as absolute indication for the technique. Type Ⅱ, with the tumor near or contacting epiphysis plate, and the distance between the two less than 1 cm, was taken as relative indication for the surgery. For type Ⅲ, the tumor contacted the epiphyseal plate partially, and was over 2 cm beyond the joint. In the cohort, 18 cases were categorized as type Ⅰ, 13 as type Ⅱ, and 2 as type Ⅲ. The size of the residual epiphyseal bone segment differed after different excision protocols which were taken according to the clinical classifications. Bone defects after tumor resections were repaired with massive intercalary allograft bone, followed by internal fixation by intramedullary nails and cancellous screws. Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation(AMOC)plays a central role in long-term climate variations through its heat and freshwater transports,which can collapse under a rapid increase of greenhouse gas forcing in climate *** studies have suggested that the deviation of model parameters is one of the major factors in inducing inaccurate AMOC *** this work,with a low-resolution earth system model,the authors try to explore whether a reasonable adjustment of the key model parameter can help to re-establish the AMOC after its *** a new optimization strategy,the extra freshwater flux(FWF)parameter is determined to be the dominant one affecting the AMOC’s *** traditional ensemble optimal interpolation(EnOI)data assimilation and new machine learning methods are adopted to optimize the FWF parameter in an abrupt 4×CO_(2) forcing experiment to improve the adaptability of model parameters and accelerate the recovery of *** results show that,under an abrupt 4×CO_(2) forcing in millennial simulations,the AMOC will first collapse and then re-establish by the default FWF parameter ***,during the parameter adjustment process,the saltier and colder sea water over the North Atlantic region are the dominant factors in usefully improving the adaptability of the FWF parameter and accelerating the recovery of AMOC,according to their physical relationship with FWF on the interdecadal timescale.

Preparation and Performance of Ternary Early Strength Agent and Quercetin Composite Cement Sealing Material

A ternary early-strengthening agent consisting of calcium formate+triethanolamine+lithium sulfate was compounded with quercetin to shorten the setting time of cementitious materials while ensuring their early *** optimum ratio of the three early-strengthening agents was determined as 0.5%calcium formate+0.04%triethanolamine+0.4%lithium sulfate by response surface *** effects of the ternary early-strengthening agent composed of calcium formate+triethanolamine(TEA)+lithium sulfate on cementitious pore sealing materials under the synergistic effect of quercetin were studied by means of the performance tests of compressive strength,fluidity,and setting time,and the microstructural characterizations of X-ray powder diffractometer(XRD),thermogravimetry(TG-DSC)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The study shows that the synergistic effect of ternary early-strengthening agent and quercetin forms a multi-performance composite admixture for cementitious *** best performance was obtained with the compounding scheme of 0.5%calcium formate+0.04%triethanolamine+0.4%lithium sulfate ternary early-strengthening agent and 0.05%*** compressive strength of 1,3,7,and 28 d are 94.8%,39.8%,42%,and 28%higher than those of the blank group,*** initial time and final setting time are 41 and 57 minutes,*** to the microscopic analysis,the network and fibrous C-S-H gels generated by ternary early-strengthening agents are attached to the surface promoted by quercetin,which forms skeleton support while thickening and solidifying the cement slurry,which enhances the early compressive strength of the cement-based materials.
