Human longevity has increased dramatically during the past century.More than 20%of the 9 billion population of the world will exceed the age of 60 in 2050.Since the last three decades,some interventions and many preclinical studies have been found to show slowing aging and increasing the healthy lifespan of organisms from yeast,flies,rodents to nonhuman primates.The interventions are classified into two groups:lifestyle modifications and pharmacological/genetic manipulations.Some genetic pathways have been characterized to have a specific role in controlling aging and lifespan.Thus,all genes in the pathways are potential antiaging targets.Currently,many antiaging compounds target the calorie-restriction mimetic,autophagy induction,and putative enhancement of cell regeneration,epige-netic modulation of gene activity such as inhibition of histone deacetylases and DNA methyltransferases,are under development.It appears evident that the exploration of new targets for these antiaging agents based on biogeron-tological research provides an incredible opportunity for the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.The present review focus on the properties of slow aging and healthy life span extension of natural products from various biologi-cal resources,endogenous substances,drugs,and synthetic compounds,as well as the mechanisms of targets for antiaging evaluation.These bioactive compounds that could benefit healthy aging and the potential role of life span extension are discussed.

Chemical investigation on the medicinal fungus Ganoderma australe led to the identification of ten new nor-lanostane triterpenes,namely two hexa-nor ones,ganoaustratetraenones A(1)and B(2),five penta-nor ones,ganoaustraldehydes A-E(3-7),and three tetra-nor ones ganoaustrenoic acids A-C(8-10).The chemical structures along with the absolute configurations were determined by extensive spectroscopic analysis of 1D&2D NMR and HRESIMS data.The postulated biosynthesis pathways of these compounds were proposed.Ganoaustraldehydes A(3)and B(4)showed moderate inhibition against nitric oxide production in RAW264.7 macrophage cells with the respec-tive IC_(50) values of 32.5,34.2μM(the IC_(50) of positive control pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate was 20.0μM).

Three new pyrrole alkaloids albifipyrrols A-C(1-3),were isolated from the endophytic fungus Albifimbria viridis col-lected from the Chinese medicinal plant.Their structures were elucidated by extensive NMR and HRESIMS spectro-metric analyses.All compounds were evaluated for immunosuppressive activity.Fortunately,compound 2 exhibits certain inhibition specifically against the LPS-induced proliferation of B lymphocyte cells with IC50 value 16.16μM.

Tujia is a national minority,inhabiting in the mountainous Wuling area in China.Since 1978,Tujia medicine has been studied,summarized and developed,leading to numerous achievements by Chinese researchers,such as the publishing of approximately 30 monographs of Tujia medicine.These publications are focused on summarizing and improving the theory of Tujia medicine and developing clinical therapies from this system of medicine.The shortage of natural medicinal plants used in Tujia medicine has created the need to discover new resources to replace them and protect endangered natural plant species.Endophytic fungi are one of the conservation options,are considered a source of new bioactive natural products,and are a renewable and inexhaustible source of new drugs and agrochemicals.This review summarizes 260 compounds from endophytic fungi that have been previously isolated from the medicinal plants of Tujia.These compounds include steroids,terpenoids,meroterpenoids,polyketides,alkaloids,peptides,aliphatic compounds,aromatic compounds,and heterocyclic compounds.

A new alkylpyrrole derivative,fusariumin A(1),was isolated from the culture broth of the fungus Fusarium sp.The absolute configuration of fuasiumin A has been established as(2'R,3'R)using a combination of RDC(residual dipolar coupling)-based NMR and DFT-supported chiroptical spectroscopy.It is worth to note that in this study without the aid of the RDC analysis,an unambiguous determination of configuration and conformation was not feasible due to the excessive conformational possibilities of this open-chain compound.

A new irlactane-type,namely irlactin K(1),and 22 tremulane-type sesquiterpenes including fourteen previously undescribed ones,namely irpexolactins A-N(2-15),and a known irlactane-type sesquiterpenoid,were isolated from the fermentation broth of the medicinal fungus Irpex lacteus HFG1102.The structures of all the isolates were characterized by extensive spectroscopic methods,including 1D and 2D NMR and MS spectroscopic analysis.The absolute configurations of irlactin K and the known compound conocenol B(20)were established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.The vasorelaxant effects of irlactin K(1),irpexolactins A(2),C(4),K(12),and irlactam(22)were evaluated.

Kiwi,a fruit from plants of the genus Actinidia,is one of the famous fruits with thousand years of edible history.In the past twenty years,a great deal of research has been done on the chemical constituents of the Actinidia species.A large number of secondary metabolites including triterpenoids,flavonoids,phenols,etc.have been identified from differents parts of Actinidia plants,which exhibited significant in vitro and in vivo pharmacological activities including anticancer,anti-inflammatory,neuroprotective,anti-oxidative,anti-bacterial,and anti-diabetic activities.In order to fully understand the chemical compo-nents and biological activities of Actinidia plants,and to improve their further research,development and utilization,this review summarizes the compounds extracted from different parts of Actinidia plants since 1959 to 2020,classifies the types of constituents,reports on the pharmacological activities of relative compounds and medicinal potentials.
