Black carbon(BC)is one of the short-lived air pollutants that contributes significantly to aerosol radiative forcing and global climate *** is emitted by the incomplete combustion of fossil fuels,biofuels,and *** environments are quite complex and thus,the use of mobile jointly with fixed monitoring provides a better understanding of the dynamics of BC distribution in such *** present study addresses the measurement of BC concentration using real-time mobile and ambient monitoring in Barranquilla,an industrialized urban area of the Colombian Caribbean.A microaethalometer(MA200)and an aethalometer(AE33)were used for measuring the BC *** absorption Ångström exponent(AAE)values were determined for the study area,for identifying the BC emission *** results of the ambient sampling show that vehicle traffic emissions prevail;however,the influence of biomass burning was also *** mean ambient BC concentration was found to be 1.04±1.03μg/m^(3) and varied between 0.5 and 4.0μg/m^(3).From the mobile measurements obtained in real traffic conditions on the road,a much higher average value of 16.1±16.5μg/m^(3) was *** parts of the city showed BC concentrations higher than 20μg/m^(3).The spatial distribution of BC concentration shows that vehicle emissions and traffic jams,a consequence of road and transport infrastructure,are the factors that most affect the BC concentration.A comparison of results obtained from two aethalometers indicates that the concentrations measured by MA200 are 9%lower than those measured by *** AAE obtained was found to vary between 1.1 and 1.6,indicating vehicular emissions as the most crucial *** addition,it was observed that the BC concentration on working days was 2.5 times higher than on the weekends in the case of mobile monitoring and 1.5 times higher in the case of ambient monitoring.

The simulation of hydrogen purification in a mixture gas of hydrogen/carbon dioxide (H2/CO2) by metal hydride system was *** lumped parameter model was developed and *** validated model was implemented on the software Matlab/simulink to simulate the present *** simulation results demonstrate that the purification efficiency depends on the external pressure and the venting *** increase in the external pressure and enough venting time makes it possible to effectively remove the impurities from the tank during the venting process and allows to desorb pure *** impurities are partially removed from the tank for low external pressure and venting time during the venting process and the desorbed hydrogen is *** parameters such as the overall heat transfer coefficient,solid material mass,supply pressure,and the ambient temperature influence the purification system in terms of the hydrogen recovery *** increase in the overall heat transfer coefficient,solid material mass,and supply pressure improves the hydrogen recovery rate while a decrease in the ambient temperature enhances the recovery rate.

Recent progress on bimetallic NiCo and CoFe based electrocatalysts for alkaline oxygen evolution reaction: A review

The deployment of hydrogen as an energy carrier is found to be a vital alternative fuel for the future. It is expected that water electrolysis, powered by renewable energy sources, be able to scale-up hydrogen production. However, the reaction kinetic of oxygen evolution reaction(OER) is a sluggish process, which predominantly limits the efficiency of water electrolysis. This review recapitulates the recent progress and efforts made in the design and development of two selected earth-abundant bimetallic electrocatalysts(Ni Co and Co Fe) for alkaline OER. Each bimetal electrocatalyst is thoroughly outlined and discussed in five sub-sections, including bimetal(oxy) hydroxides, Layered double hydroxides(LDHs) structures,oxides, composites, alloy and nanostructured electrocatalysts, and assembled with ***, a brief introduction to an in situ/operando characterization techniques and advantages for monitoring the structure of the electrocatalysts is provided. Finally, a summary outlining the challenges and conceivable approaches to advance OER performance is highlighted and discussed.

The expansion of the Internet of Moving Things(IoMT)leads to limitless and continuous working playgrounds exploited by highly dynamic end *** requires the adoption of multi-Radio Access Technologies(RATs)-based strategies to provide IoMT units with ubiquitous *** this end,the development of secure bootstrapping and authentication mechanisms is necessary to permit the secure operation of end *** the transmission and power limitations of these elements,current cryptographic solutions do not address these stringent *** that reason,in the study we present a Multi-Access Edge Computing(MEC)-based endto-end architecture that enables an efficient and secure authentication and key agreement between end devices and network servers over heterogeneous resource-limited networks such as the Low Power Wide Area Networks(LPWANs).Our proposal is based on the Authentication,Authorization,and Accounting(AAA)architecture and the recent Internet Engineering Task Force initiatives static Context Header Compression and Low-Overhead *** results obtained from experimental tests reveal the validity of the proposal as it enables constrained IoMT devices to gain IPv6 connectivity as well as performs end-to-end secure authentication with notable reliability and controlled latency.

Mapping Between Charge-Dyon and Position-Dependent Mass systems

The primary purpose of this work is to reproduce the scenario composed of a charge-dyon system utilizing position-dependent effective mass(PDM) background in the non-relativistic and in the relativistic regimes. In the nonrelativistic case we substitute the exact charge-dyon eigenfunction into PDM schr?dinger equation, in the Zhu-Kroemer parametrization, and then solve it for the mass distribution considering M = M(r). Analogously, in the relativistic case we study the Klein-Gordon equation for a position-dependent mass, and in this case, we are able to analytically solve the equation for M = M(r, θ).

Visible Light Excitable sCN^- selective Fluorescence Probe Derived from Thiophene

An efficient fluorescence probe, 4-methyl-2,6-bis（（thiophen-2-ylmethylimino）methyl）phenol （DFPTMA） and its sCN adduct has been synthesized and characterized by different spectroscopic techniques like ^1H NMR,^13C NMR, QTOF-Ms Es^＋, UV-Vis and FTIR spectroscopy. single crystal X-ray structure of DFPTMA is reported. In presence of sCN-, DFPTMA exhibits significant fluorescence enhancement （λEx, 455 nm, λEm, 504 nm） in aqueous methanol （water-methanol, 1 ： 4, V/V, 0.1 mol/L HEPEs buffer, pH 7.4）. Common bio-relevant anions viz. CH3COO^-, NO2, NO7, Cl^-, Br^-, I^-, sO4^2-, HsO4^-, N3^-, HAsO4^2-, Cr2O7^2-, H2PO4, ClO4^-, NCO^-, CN^-, CO3^2-, F^-, PO4^3-, s2-, Hs- do not interfere in the recognition of sCN-. Lowest detection limit for sCN^- is 0.88 μmol/L with response time 〈5 min. The sCN assisted enhancement in emission intensity may be attributed to the formation of H-bond which enhances the rigidity of the molecular assembly.

Thorough Validation of a Rotor Fault Diagnosis Methodology in Laboratory and Field soft-started Induction Motors

Induction motors are the most widespread rotating electrical machines in *** maintenance of the motors is of crucial importance due to the fact that unexpected faults in those machines can lead to huge economic losses for the corresponding *** recent years,there is an increasing use of industrial induction motors operated by different types of drives,which have different *** them,the use of soft-starters has proliferated due to the inherent benefits provided by these drives:they damp the high starting currents,enabling the soft startup of the motors and avoiding undesirable commutation transients introduced by other starting *** spite of these advantages,they do not avoid the possible occurrence of rotor damages,one of the most common faults in this type of *** works have proposed predictive maintenance techniques that are aimed to diagnose the rotor condition in soft-started machines and even fewer have demonstrated the validity of their methods in real *** work presents,for the first time,the massive validation of a rotor fault diagnosis methodology in soft-started induction *** and laboratory and induction motors started under different types of soft-starters and with diverse rotor fault conditions are considered in the *** results prove the potential of the approach for the reliable assessment of the rotor condition in such machines.

Contrasted Impact of Land Abandonment on soil Erosion in Mediterranean Agriculture Fields

Abandonment of agricultural land results in on- and off-site consequences for the ecosystem. In this study, 105 rainfall simulations were carried out in agriculture lands of the Mediterranean belt in spain （vineyards in Malaga, almond orchards in Murcia, and orange and olive orchards in Valencia） and in paired abandoned lands to assess the impact of land abandonment on soil and water losses. After abandonment, soil detachment decreased drastically in the olive and orange orchards, while vineyards did not show any difference and almond orchards registered higher erosion rates after the abandonment. Terraced orchards of oranges and olives recovered a dense vegetation cover after the abandonment, while the sloping terrain of almond orchards and vineyards enhanced the development of crusts and rills and a negligible vegetation cover resulted in high erosion rates. The contrasted responses to land abandonment in Mediterranean agricultural lands suggest that land abandonment should be programmed and managed with soil erosion control strategies for some years to avoid land degradation.

Impact of socioeconomic and health-related factors on consumption of homeopathic and natural remedies in spain in 2006, 2011 and 2017

Objective: Complementary and alternative medicine use and type of use may be influenced by sociodemographic and economic determinants through which we could identify characteristics of patients with greater trend to use it. This paper aims to describe the changes in the consumption of homeopathic and natural remedies in spain for three time points in order to discern changes in rate of consumption, associated factors and whether their use has been affected by a period of economic ***: This study utilized 2006, 2011 and 2017 cross-sectional data from the spanish National Health survey, a nationally representative survey of the population aged more than 15 years old and resident in spain. Independent bivariate and multivariate descriptive analyses for each of the 3 years studied were ***: The rate of consumption of both homeopathic and natural remedies has decreased over the periods studied. In spite of this decrease, the consumer profile appears to remain stable over the three periods. The sociodemographic factors associated with their consumption were being female, being 30–64 years old, being separated/divorced, having higher education qualifications, being employed and belonging to a higher social class. Psychiatric morbidity, chronic health problems such as pain, mental health problems or malignant tumors, and absence of major cardiovascular events were the clinical factors ***: It can be concluded that beyond the economic situation, the use of homeopathic and natural remedies obeys to the needs of the patients related to their state of health and the response they receive from the health system. It may be that women have different needs and expectations of the healthcare system and, given this breach of expectations, seek remedy to alleviate their needs outside the system and conventional medicine.
