An electricity market is a trading platform provided by the actors in the electricity sector to sell and buy electricity while maintaining the stability of the transmission network and minimizing energy *** management of electrical energy for rational use consists of all the operations that the consumers can carry out in order to minimize their electricity bill,while the producers optimize their benefits and the transmission *** reduction of active and reactive power consumption and the smoothing of daily and yearly load profiles are the main objectives in this *** developed countries already have properly functioning electricity markets,but developing countries are still in their infancy of deregulated electricity *** major tools used in smoothing the load profiles include decentralized generation,energy storage and demand response.A load power smoothing control strategy is proposed to smooth the load power fluctuations of the distribution *** required power change is determined by evaluating the power fluctuation rate of the load,and then the required power change is allocated to some generators or to some stored ***,the consumers are made to curtail their power *** ideas proposed in this work provide important opportunities for energy policy makers and *** ideas would only be feasible if there exists real-time communication among the actors in the electricity *** results indicate that as much as 1100 Megawatt-hours of energy can be stored for smoothing the load profile,when applied to the Southern Interconnected Grid of the Cameroon power system;and that Time of Use(TOU)pricing could be used instead of rotating blackouts in case of energy shortage.

High Q and sub-wavelength THz electric field confinement in ultrastrongly coupled THz resonators

The control of light–matter coupling at the single electron level is currently a subject of growing interest for the development of novel quantum devices and for studies and applications of quantum *** the terahertz(THz)spectral range,this raises the particular and difficult challenge of building electromagnetic resonators that can conciliate low mode volume and high quality ***,we report on hybrid THz cavities based on ultrastrong coupling between a Tamm cavity and an LC circuit metamaterial and show that they can combine high quality factors of up to Q=37 with a deep-subwavelength mode volume of V=3.2×10^(-4)λ^(3).Our theoretical and experimental analysis of the coupled mode properties reveals that,in general,the ultrastrong coupling between a metamaterial and a Fabry–Perot cavity is an effective tool to almost completely suppress radiative losses and,thus,ultimately limit the total losses to the losses in the metallic *** Tamm cavity-LC metamaterial coupled resonators open a route toward the development of single photon THz emitters and detectors and to the exploration of ultrastrong THz light–matter coupling with a high degree of coherence in the few to single electron limit.

On the genetic distinctiveness of tailorbirds(Cisticolidae:Orthotomus)from the South-east Asian mainland with the description of a new subspecies

Background: The Cambodian Tailorbird(Orthotomus chaktomuk) was one of the most recent major ornithological discoveries in South-east Asia as it originated from lowland seasonally flooded scrub within the densely inhabited floodplain around the Tonle Sap, Mekong and Bassac rivers(Cambodia). The Cambodian Tailorbird is sister to the Dark-necked Tailorbird(O. atrogularis) with very limited genetics and biometric differentiation. Between 2004 and 2012, evidences of a new population of Ashy Tailorbird(O. ruficeps) in SE Cambodia/Vietnam accumulated but no museum specimens were ever reported. The Ashy Tailorbird currently consists of eight subspecies among which the closest geographical populations, O. r. cineraceus(SE Burma to Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Bangka and Belitung) and O. r. borneoensis(Borneo), are allopatric. Subspecific identification of the Cambodian Ashy Tailorbirds individuals was not possible because of the limited differences in plumage among ***: We inspected the Orthotomus ruficeps specimens housed at the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle(Paris) and discovered five specimens of O. ruficeps collected by Louis Rodolphe Germain in ‘Cochinchina'(corresponding to southern Vietnam) during the nineteenth century. We sequenced one mitochondrial locus and gathered biometric data from these specimens and compared them with other Orthotomus ***: The Ashy Tailord population from SE Cambodia and Vietnam is distinct from the two geographically close subspecies O. r. borneoensis(1.7%) and O. r. cineraceus(1.3%). O. chaktomuk is nested within O. atrogularis in the mitochondrial gene tree. The slippery slope framework(SSF)of tax compliance postulates that taxpayers’compliance behaviour depends on the two dimensions:trust in authorities and power of *** an attempt to overcome common-method biases,the present study tests the main assumptions of the SSF with a sample of 44 countries/***/region-level trust and power indices are calculated based on experimental data involving 14,509 participants and related to shadow economy estimates and–as an alternative indicator of non-compliance–corruption *** results indicate that both trust and power are negatively related to the size of the shadow economy and the extent of *** results emphasise the importance of both SSF dimensions in combating tax evasion and counterproductive behaviour within a society in general.

Since 1998,Preventive Oncology International,Inc.(POI)has been at the forefront of studying human papillomavirus(HPV)self-collection for cervical cancer screening,with a significant focus in *** multiple clinical trials over the past 25 years,POI has explored various aspects related to self-collection *** 2004–2006,POI established that self-collection could be equivalent to direct endocervical ***,a large randomized trial involving 10,000 patients in 2010 further confirmed that self-collected vaginal specimens,tested for high-risk HPV(hrHPV)using a PCR-based assay with high analytic sensitivity,could effectively replace endocervical specimens with minimal loss of sensitivity and a slight decrease in *** the years,POI's research has encompassed several crucial topics,including patient acceptance,the development of new cost-effective,simpler,and faster assays,exploring different collection devices,devising efficient methods of specimen transport,and implementing population-based screening *** findings strongly support the integration of self-collection methodologies into cervical cancer control programs worldwide,particularly in medically underserved *** HPV self-collection continues to evolve,ongoing research and innovations are expected to play a pivotal role in achieving the global mission of combating cervical cancer.

Aims:To evaluate the medium term efficacy and safety of Altis and Solyx single incision slings(SIS)compared with tension-free vaginal tape(TVT)Abbrevo trans-obturator *** hypothesize that both SIS show little difference in efficacy and safety and perform similarly to TVT ***:We conducted an ambispective comparative cohort study of women with stress urinary incontinence who received a SIS in comparison to matched TVT Abbrevo subjects from a concurrent randomized controlled trial(RCT).Subjects were identified retrospectively,and prospectively invited for examination and questionnaires>12 months *** included intrinsic sphincter deficiency,previous sling surgery,and *** outcome was subjective cure[negative response to International Consultation Incontinence Questionnaire-Urinary Incontinence Short Form(ICIQ-UI SF)question 6,leakage during coughing/activity].Secondary outcomes include objective cure(negative cough stress test),functional outcomes,and adverse ***:Between 2012 and 2018,a total of 113 women received one of two SIS surgeries;Solyx(n=50)followed by the Altis(n=63);104 were available for final efficacy *** follow-up was 21.7(Altis),46.0(Solyx),and 29.0(Abbrevo)*** characteristics were comparable between the *** was no significant differences in the subjective or objective cure rates between the groups,and no differences in functional outcomes such as patient global impression of improvement,and post-operative ICIQ-UI SF *** was a low rate of mesh related complications and no differences seen between the ***:Despite being an underpowered study,Altis and Solyx SIS have favourable efficacy and safety profiles which are comparable to an established trans-obturator mid-urethral slings(MUS).

The ability of a plant cell to expand is largely defined by the physical constraints imposed by its cell wall. Accordingly, cell wall properties have to be regulated during development. The pectic polysaccharide homogalacturonan is a major component of the plant primary walls. Biosynthesis and in muro modification of homogalacturonan have recently emerged as key determinants of plant development, controlling cell adhesion, organ development, and phyllotactic patterning. This review will focus on recent findings regarding impact of homogalacturonan content and methylesterification status of this polymer on plant life. Demethyl-esterification of homogalacturonan occurs through the action of the ubiquitous enzyme ＇pectin methyl-esterase＇. We here describe various strategies developed by the plant to finely tune the methyl-esterification status of homogalacturonan along key events of the plant lifecycle.
