Three-dimensional(3d)nano-printing of freeform optical waveguides,also referred to as photonic wire bonding,allows for efficient coupling between photonic chips and can greatly simplify optical system *** a key advantage,the shape and the trajectory of photonic wire bonds can be adapted to the mode-field profiles and the positions of the chips,thereby offering an attractive alternative to conventional optical assembly techniques that rely on technically complex and costly high-precision ***,while the fundamental advantages of the photonic wire bonding concept have been shown in proof-of-concept experiments,it has so far been unclear whether the technique can also be leveraged for practically relevant use cases with stringent reproducibility and reliability *** this paper,we demonstrate optical communication engines that rely on photonic wire bonding for connecting arrays of silicon photonic modulators to InP lasers and single-mode *** a first experiment,we show an eight-channel transmitter offering an aggregate line rate of 448 Gbit/s by low-complexity intensity modulation.A second experiment is dedicated to a four-channel coherent transmitter,operating at a net data rate of 732.7 Gbit/s-a record for coherent silicon photonic transmitters with co-packaged *** dedicated test chips,we further demonstrate automated mass production of photonic wire bonds with insertion losses of(0.7±0.15)dB,and we show their resilience in environmental-stability tests and at high optical *** results might form the basis for simplified assembly of advanced photonic multi-chip systems that combine the distinct advantages of different integration platforms.

Co-evolution of host-parasitoid interactions is determined by the costs of host resistance, which received empirical evidence, and the costs ofparasitoid virulence, which have been mostly hypothesized. Asobara tabida is a parasitoid, which mainly parasitizes drosophila melanogaster and d. subobscura, the first species being able to resist to the parasitoid development while the second species is not. To parasitize resistant hosts, including d. melanogaster, A. tabida develops sticky eggs, which prevent encapsulation, but this virulence mechanism may be costly. Interindividual and interpopulation variation in the proportion of sticky eggs respectively allowed us to （i） artificially select and compare life-history traits of a virulent and a nonvirulent laboratory strain, and （ii） compare a virulent and a nonvirulent field strain, to investigate the hypothetical costs of virulence. We observed strong differences between the 2 laboratory strains. The nonvirulent strain invested fewer resources in reproduction and walked less than the virulent one but lived longer. Concerning the field strains, we observed that the nonvirulent strain had larger wings while the virulent one walked more and faster. All together, our results suggest that virulence may not always be costly, but rather that different life histories associated with different levels of virulence may coexist at both intra- and interdodulation levels.

AIM: To review all cases of abdominal tuberculosis(ATB) for demographic details, diagnostic work up and evidence of vitamin d ***: This was a retrospective analysis of all patients diagnosed with ATB from June 2003 to August 2013 at St George's Hospital, London. demographic data was available from the local tuberculosis database. Further clinical information was collected from electronic patient records, including radiology, endoscopy, microbiology, histology, biochemistry and serology. Patients were classified as either confirmed ATB [if mycobacteria tuberculosis(MTB) was cultured from abdominal site] or presumed ATB(if suggestive findings or high clinical suspicion). Subtypes of ATB were classified as tuberculosis(TB) peritonitis, luminal TB, solid organ TB or from a combination of ***: There were a total of 65 cases identified in this time period, with a mean of 6.5 cases per year(range 4-9). Mean age 42 years, 49.2% females. Fifty-two point three percent were South Asian, 38.5% African. Forty-nine point two percent had gastrointestinal endoscopy, 30.8% paracentesis and 24.6% surgery in order to obtain samples. Forty-seven point seven percent were defined as confirmed ATB with positive culture of MTB from abdominal sites, the rest were treated as presumed ATB. Twenty-four point six percent had co-existing sputum culture positive for MTB, and 30.8% had an abnormal chest X-ray. Subtypes of ATB: 35.4% had TB peritonitis; 27.7% luminal TB; 3.1% solid organ TB; and 33.8% TB at a combination of abdominal sites. Thirteen point nine percent were human immunodeficiency virus positive, all with Cd4 count less than 300 cells/μL. Seventy point five percent had severe vitamin d deficiency, and 25% were vitamin d ***: ATB mainly affects young South Asian and African patients, with difficulties in confirming diagnosis despite a range of non-invasive and invasive diagnostic tests.

＜正＞This paper discusses the design of monolithic RF broadband Class E SiGe power amplifiers（PAs） that are highly efficient and ***-pull measurement data on IBM 7HP SiGe power devices have been made at 900MHz and 2.4GHz and monolithic class E PAs have been designed using these devices to achieve highest power-added-efficiency（PAE） at these *** is found that high PAE can be achieved for monolithic single-stage Class E PAs designed using high-breakdown SiGe transistors at～65%（900MHz） and～40%（2.4GHz）, respectively,which are roughly～10%lower than the device’s maximum PAE values obtained by load-pull tests under optimal off-chip matching *** have also demonstrated that monolithic SiGe class E PAs can be successfully linearized using an open-loop envelope tracking（ET） technique as their output spectra pass the stringent EdGE transmit mask with margins, achieving overall PAE of 44.4%for the linearized PA system that surpasses the ＜30%PAE with commercially available GaAs Class AB PAs for EdGE applications. These promising results indicate the feasibility of realizing true single-chip wireless transceivers with on-chip RF SiGe PAs for spectrally-efficient non-constant-envelope modulation schemes.

Meiosis is a specialized cell division for producing haploid gametes in sexually reproducing *** this study,we have independently identified a novel meiosis protein male meiosis recombination regulator(MAMERR)/4930432 K21 Rik and showed that it is indispensable for meiosis prophase I progression in male *** super-resolution structured illumination microscopy,we found that MAMERR functions at the same double-strand breaks as the replication protein A and meiosis-specific with OB domains/spermatogenesis associated 22 *** generated a Mamerr-deficient mouse model by deleting exons 3 e6 and found that most of Mamerrà/àspermatocytes were arrested at pachynema and failed to progress to diplonema,although they exhibited almost intact synapsis and progression to the pachytene stage along with XY body *** mechanistic studies revealed that the recruitment of dMC1/RAd51 and heat shock factor 2 ebinding protein in Mamerrà/àspermatocytes was only mildly impaired with a partial reduction in double-strand break repair,whereas a substantial reduction in ubiquitination on the autosomal axes and on the XY body appeared as a major phenotype in Mamerrà/à*** propose that MAMERR may participate in meiotic prophase I progression by regulating the ubiquitination of key meiotic proteins on autosomes and XY chromosomes,and in the absence of MAMERR,the repressed ubiquitination of key meiotic proteins leads to pachytene arrest and cell death.

使用RegCM3区域气候模式，嵌套欧洲数值预报中心（ECMWF）ERA40再分析资料，分别进行了中国区域在实际植被和理想植被分布情况下各15年时间长度（1987～2001）的积分试验，以探讨中国土地利用状况对气候的影响．通过两个试验结果的对比，研究了中国土地利用状况对气候的影响．分析主要集中于气温和降水等变化上，并对结果进行了统计显著性检验．结果表明。当代土地利用，植被覆盖变化加强了中国地区冬、夏季的季风环流，同时改变了地表能量平衡状况，从而对各气候要素产生重要影响．冬季，植被改变引起长江以南降水减少、气温降低，长江以北降水增加．夏季，植被改变显著影响了南方地区的气候，使得南方降水增多，黄淮、江淮气温降低，华南气温上升；同时引起中国北方降水减少，气温在西北部分植被退化地区升高．植被变化对日最低、最高气温的影响更大．总体而言，土地利用引起了年平均降水在南方增加、北方减少，年平均气温在南方显著降低．
