Collective oscillations of massless particles in two-dimensional(2D)Dirac materials offer an innovative route toward implementing atomically thin devices based on low-energy quasiparticle *** confinement of nearfield distribution on the 2D surface is essential to demonstrate extraordinary optoelectronic functions,providing means to shape the spectral response at the mid-infrared(IR)*** the dynamic polarization from the linear response theory has successfully accounted for a range of experimental observations,a unified perspective was stll elusive,connecting the state-of-the-art developments based on the 2D Dirac ***,we review recent works on graphene and three-dimensional(3D)topological insulator(TI)plasmon-polariton,where the mid-IR and terahertz(THz)radiation experiences prominent confinement into a deep-subwavelength scale in a novel optoelectronic *** presenting general light-matter interactions between 2D Dirac plasmon and subwavelength quasiparticle excitations,we introduce various experimental techniques to couple the plasmonpolaritons with electromagnetic *** and optical controls over the plasmonic excitations reveal the hybridized plasmon modes in graphene and 3D Tl,demonstrating an intense near-field interaction of 2D Dirac plasmon within the highly-compressed *** findings can further be applied to invent optoelectronic biomolecular sensors,atomically thin photodetectors,and laser-driven light sources.

Increased incidence of chemoport-related thrombosis in patients with colorectal cancer receiving bevacizumab: A single-institutional experience

Objective： Chemoport-related thrombosis （CRT） is a serious complication that causes morbidities and interruptsadministration of intravenous cancer therapy. We investigated the incidence and risk of CRT in colorectal cancer（CRC） patients treated with bevacizumab （BEV）.methods： We retrospectively reviewed 1,534 CRC patients who received chemotherapy with or without BEVusing a chemoport between 2014 and ***： The participants had a median age of 58 （18-85） years, and 60.3% were male. All participants werestratified into three groups： adjuvant chemotherapy （AC）（n=670）, palliative chemotherapy （PC） without BEV（n=356）, and PC with BEV （n=508）. The median follow-up was 20.19 （interquartile range, 14.07-27.19） *** occurred in 3.8% of all patients; incidence of symptomatic and asymptomatic CRT was 2.9% and 0.9%,respectively. CRT occurred more in patients with BEV （5.7%） than in patients without BEV （2.9%, P=0.008）. Thecumulative incidence of CRT in patients administered PC with BEV was significantly higher than that in thoseadministered AC （P=0.011） and there was a trend toward increased CRY in patients administered PC with BEVcompared with those administered PC without BEV （P=0.044）. multivariate analysis found that BEV treatment wasthe only variable that was significandy associated with CRT （hazard ratio, 2.06; 95% confidence interval, 1.24-3.43;P=0.006）.Conclusions： BEV treatment was significandy associated with increased incidence of CRT in CRC patients.

A conventional electrode composite for rechargeable zinc-ion batteries(ZIBs)includes a binder for strong adhesion between the electrode material and the current ***,the introduction of a binder leads to electrochemical inactivity and low electrical conductivity,resulting in the decay of the capacity and a low rate *** present a binder-and conducting agent-free VO_(2) composite electrode using in situ polymerization of dopamine on a flexible current collector of pyroprotein-based *** as-fabricated composite electrode was used as a substrate for the direct growth of VO_(2) as a self-supported form on polydopamine-derived pyroprotein-based fibers(pp-fibers@VO_(2)(B)).It has a high conductivity and flexible nature as a current collector and moderate binding without conventional binders and conducting agents for the VO_(2)(B) *** addition,their electrochemical mechanism was *** energy storage is induced by Zn^(2+)/H^(+) coinsertion during discharging,which can be confirmed by the lattice expansion,the formation of by-products including Zn_(x)(OTf)_(y)(OH)_(2x−y)·nH_(2)O,and the reduction of V^(4+)to V^(3+).Furthermore,the assembled Zn//pp-fibers@VO_(2)(B) pouch cells have excellent flexibility and stable electrochemical performance under various bending states,showing application possibilities for portable and wearable power sources.

Quantitative analysis of uranium in electrorecovery salt of pyroprocessing using laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy

The amounts of nuclear materials in the Li Cl-kCl salt in pyroprocessing have to be analyzed to prevent the diversion of the nuclear *** alternative method to the chemical analysis has been pursued,and laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy(LIBS)is one *** the present work,an in situ and quantitative analysis method of electro-recovery(ER)salt was proposed and demonstrated by using LIBS combined with dipstick *** types of simulated salt samples were prepared:ER salt sample and salt obtained from the dipstick sampling,and pulsed neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet(Nd:YAG)laser with a wavelength of 532 nm was focused on the salt to generate *** plasma emission was measured by using an Echelle spectrometer with a resolution of 0.01 nm in conjunction with an Intensified Charge-Coupled Detector *** U and other rare earth peaks in the spectra were *** best Limit of Detection and Root mean Square Error of Calibration of U were 38 ppm and 0.0203 wt%,*** work shows that the U in the pyroprocessing ER salt can be monitored with LIBS.

Breaking the resolution-bandwidth limit of chip-scale spectrometry by harnessing a dispersion-engineered photonic molecule

The chip-scale integration of optical spectrometers may offer new opportunities for in situ bio-chemical analysis,remote sensing,and intelligent health *** miniaturization of integrated spectrometers faces the challenge of an inherent trade-off between spectral resolutions and working ***,a high resolution requires long optical paths,which in turn reduces the free-spectral range(FSR).In this paper,we propose and demonstrate a ground-breaking spectrometer design beyond the resolution-bandwidth *** tailor the dispersion of mode splitting in a photonic molecule to identify the spectral information at different *** tuning over a single FSR,each wavelength channel is encoded with a unique scanning trace,which enables the decorrelation over the whole bandwidth spanning multiple *** analysis reveals that each left singular vector of the transmission matrix is mapped to a unique frequency component of the recorded output signal with a high sideband suppression ***,unknown input spectra can be retrieved by solving a linear inverse problem with iterative *** results demonstrate that this approach can resolve any arbitrary spectra with discrete,continuous,or hybrid *** ultrahigh resolution ofm is achieved throughout an ultrabroad bandwidth of>100 nm far exceeding the narrow *** ultralarge wavelength-channel capacity of 2501 is supported by a single spatial channel within an ultrasmall footprint(≈60×60μm^(2)),which represents,to the best of our knowledge,the highest channel-to-footprint ratio(≈0.69μm^(−2))and spectral-to-spatial ratio(>2501)ever demonstrated to date.

The brain's extracellular matrix(ECm),which is comprised of protein and glycosaminoglycan(GAG)scaffolds,constitutes 20%-40% of the human brain and is considered one of the largest influencers on brain cell functioning(Soles et al.,2023).Synthesized by neural and glial cells,the brain's ECm regulates a myriad of homeostatic cellular processes,including neuronal plasticity and firing(miyata et al.,2012),cation buffering(moraws ki et al.,2015),and glia-neuron interactions(Anderson et al.,2016).Considering the diversity of functions,dynamic remodeling of the brain's ECm indicates that this understudied medium is an active participant in both normal physiology and neurological diseases.

Uranium measurements using laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy in lithium chloride-potassium chloride salt of pyroprocessing

In pyroprocessing,uranium(U) is recovered from molten LiCl-kCl salt,and,for safeguard purposes,it is important to analyze the U and Plutonium(Pu) concentrations in a timely *** the present work,salt samples containing U were *** laser used in the present work was an Nd:YAG laser with a wavelength of 532 nm,a laser energy on the sample of11.5 mJ,and a pulse repetition rate of 10 *** plasma emission light was measured with an Echelle spectrometer.A total of 100 points on the sample surface were measured as the laser incident position was *** U and potassium(k) peaks in the spectrum were *** and multivariate analyzes were conducted to determine the accuracy and limit of detection(LOD) of the laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy.

Research on CeO2 cap layer for YBCO-coated conductor

Two groups of coated conductor samples with different thicknesses of CeO2 cap layers deposited by pulsed laser deposition （PLD） under the same conditions have been studied. Of them, one group is of CeO2 films, which are deposited on stainless steel （SS） tapes coated by IBAD-YSZ （IBAD-YSZ/SS）, and the other group is of CeO2/YSZ/Y2O3 multilayers, which are deposited on NiW substrates by PLD for the fabrication of YBCO-coated conductor through the RABiTS approach. YBCO film is then deposited on the tops of both types of buffer layers by PLD. The effects of the thickness of the CeO2 film on the texture of the CeO2 film and the critical current density （Jc） of the YBCO film are analysed. For the case of CeO2 film on IBAD-YSZ/SS, there appears a self-epitaxy effect with increasing thickness of the CeO2 film. For CeO2/YSZ/Y2O3/NiW, in which the buffer layers are deposited by PLD, there occurs no self-epitaxy effect, and the optimal thickness of CeO2 is about 50 nm. The surface morphologies of the two groups of samples are examined by SEm.
