Ru/NimnB spherical cluster pillar for highly proficient green hydrogen electrocatalyst at high current density

Advanced OER/HER electrocatalytic alternatives are crucial for the wide adaptation of green hydrogen ***,Ru/NimnB spherical cluster pillar （SCP）,denoted as Ru/NimnB,is synthesized using a combination of electro-deposition and hydrothermal *** investigation of Ru doping in the NimnB matrix revealed significant improvements in electrocatalytic *** Ru/NimnB SCPs demonstrate superior OER/HER activity with low overpotentials of 150 and 103 mV at 50mA/cm2in 1 m kOH,making them highly competitive with state-of-the-art ***,the Ru/NimnB SCPs exhibit a low 2-E cell voltage of 2.80 V at ultra-high current density of 2,000 m A/cm2in 1 m kOH,outperforming the standard benchmark electrodes of RuO2||Pt/C,thereby positioning Ru/NimnB as one of the best bifunctional *** SCPs exhibit exceptional high-current characteristics,stability and corrosion resistance,as evidenced by continuous operation at 1,000 mA/cm2high-current density for over 150 h in 6 m kOH at elevated temperatures under harsh industrial *** a small amount of Ru incorporation significantly enhances the electrocatalytic performances of NimnB,attributed to increased active sites and improved intrinsic properties such as conductivity,adsorption/desorption capability and reaction ***,Ru/NimnB SCPs present a promising bi-functional electrode concept for efficient green H2production.

Rice （Oryza sativa） is one of the most important staple food crops for more than half of the world＇s population. The demand is increasing for food security because of population growth and environmental challenges triggered by climate changes. This scenario has led to more interest in developing crops with greater productivity and sustainability. The process of genetic transformation, a major tool for crop improvement, utilizes promoters as one of its key elements. Those promoters are generally divided into three types： constitutive, spatiotemporal, and condition-dependent. Tran- scriptional control of a constitutive promoter often leads to reduced plant growth, due to a negative effect of accumu- lated molecules during cellular functions or energy consump- tion. To maximize the effect of a transgene on transgenic plants, it is better to use condition-dependent or tissue- specific promoters. However, until now, those types have not been as widely applied in crop biotechnology. In this review, we introduce and discuss four groups of tissue-specific promoters （5o promoters in total） and six groups of condition-dependent promoters （27 promoters）. These pro- moters can be utilized to fine-tune desirable agronomic traits and develop crops with tolerance to various stresses, enhanced nutritional value, and advanced productivity.

Since most organic materials are very sensitive to moisture and oxygen, organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) require an encapsulation layer to protect the active layer from these gases. Since light, flexible and portable OLEDs are being employed in more diverse climates and environmental conditions, the OLED encapsulation layer must retain robust mechanical properties and stability in high temperature/high humidity conditions. Al2O3 films have demonstrated excellent barrier performance, but they readily hydrolyze when exposed to prolonged harsh environments. In this study, we fabricated a thin film encapsulation (TFE) film that was resistant to hydrolysis, using Al2O3/mgO (Am) nanolaminates. mgO has superior resistance to harsh environments, and the aluminate phase generated by the chemical reaction of Al2O3 and mgO provided excellent barrier performance, even after storage in harsh conditions. A multi-barrier fabricated using the Am nanolaminate showed excellent barrier performance, close to the level required by OLEDs. It did not significantly deteriorate even after a bending test of 1,000 iterations at 0.63% strain. After 1,000 cycle of bending, the electrical properties of the passivated OLEDs were not significantly degraded at shelf-lifetime test where the fabricated device was stored for 50 days in a harsh environment of 60℃, 90% relative humidity. The multi-barrier shows the best performance compared to previous studies on flexible encapsulation that can be used in harsh environments.

The effect of heat treatment on the electrochemical and mechanical properties of SS400 steel was investigated, and the effects of annealing conditions on notched specimens subjected to the slow strain rate test (SSRT) were studied. The results show that no correlations are observed among the maximum tensile strength, yield strength, and stress corrosion cracking. In contrast, the elongation and time-to-fracture are improved with stress-relieving annealing compared with the as-received condition. The elongation, time-to-fracture, and number of dimples increase with annealing heat treatment.

High-throughput small-molecule assays play essential roles in biomedical diagnosis,drug discovery,environmental analysis,and physiological function *** holds a great potential for the label-free detection of small molecules at extremely low ***,we report the development of nanoplasmonic paper(NP-paper)for the rapid separation and ultrasensitive detection of mixed small ***-paper employs nanogap-rich silver nanoislands on cellulose fibers,which were simply fabricated at the wafer level by using low-temperature solid-state dewetting of a thin silver *** nanoplasmonic detection allows for the scalable quantification and identification of small molecules over broad concentration ***,the combination of chromatographic separation and nanoplasmonic detection allows both the highly sensitive fluorescence detection of mixed small molecules at the attogram level and the label-free detection at the sub-nanogram level based on surface-enhanced Raman *** novel material provides a new diagnostic platform for the high-throughput,low-cost,and label-free screening of mixed small molecules as an alternative to conventional paper chromatography.

The distribution pattern of reptiles in mountainous regions is generally related to altitude. The distribution of viperine species can be limited by elevation. Short-tailed viper snakes （Gloydius saxatilis） of South korea are found mostly in high elevation mountainous areas, but few studies have evaluated how their distribution relates to elevation gradient. This study was conducted from 2012 to 2013 to investigate the altitudinal distribution of short-tailed viper snakes in mountainous areas and to discover their movement patterns in Cheon-ma mountain County Park in South korea. A translocation method utilizing radio- tracking technology was employed to confirm whether their distribution was influenced by altitude. The results showed that most short-tailed vipers were observed in middle and high altitude areas （from 400 m to 800 m）, but none were observed in low altitude areas （from 200 m to 400 m）. According to the results of the translocation and tracking experiments, the individuals of the translocated group showed a significantly broader home range than those of the control group. In addition, all individuals of the translocated group moved vertically, while most of the control group moved horizontally. Therefore, all translocated individuals tended to move back toward their original habitat, a high elevation area. Consequently, we concluded that the distribution of short-tailed viper snakes was limited by altitude.

A Case Study of mesoscale Convective Band(mCB) Development and Evolution along a Quasi-stationary Front

This paper presents a case study of mesoscale convective band （mCB） development along a quasi-stationary front over the Seout metropolitan *** mCB,which initiated on 1500 UTC 20 September 2010 and ended on 1400 UTC 21 September 2010,produced a total precipitation amount of 259.5 *** mCB development occurred during a period of tropopause folding in the upper level and moisture advection with a low-level *** analyses show that the evolution of the mCB can be classified into five periods：（1） the cell-forming period,when convection initiated; （2） the frontogenetic period,when the stationary front formed over the korean peninsula; （3） the quasi-stationary period,when the convective band remained over Seoul for 3 h; （4） the mature period,when the cloud cover was largest and the precipitation rate was greater than 90 mm h-1; and （5） the dissipating period,when the mCB diminished and *** synoptic,thermodynamic,and dynamic analyses show that the mCB maintained its longevity by a tilted updraft,which headed towards a positive PV *** was concentrated under this area,where a tilted ascending southwesterly converged with a tilted ascending northeasterly,at the axis of cyclonic *** formation of the convective cell was attributed in part by tropopause folding,which enhanced the cyclonic vorticity at the surface,and by the low-level convergence of warm moist air and upperlevel *** southwesterly flow ascended in a region with high moisture content and strong relative vorticity that maintained the development of an mCB along the quasi-stationary front.

Effects of humic acid on phytodegradation of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil simultaneously contaminated with heavy metals

The use of humic acid （HA） to enhance the efficiency of phytodegradation of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil contaminated with diesel fuel was evaluated in this study. A sample of soil was artificially contaminated with commercially available diesel fuel to an initial total petroleum hydrocarbons （TPH） concentration of 2300 mg/kg and four heavy metals with concentrations of 400 mg/kg for Pb, 200 mg/kg for Cu, 12 mg/kg for Cd, and 160 mg/kg for Ni. Three plant species, Brassica campestris, Festuca arundinacea, and Helianthus annuus, were selected for the phytodegradation experiment. Percentage degradation of TPH in the soil in a control pot supplemented with HA increased to 45% from 30% without HA. The addition of HA resulted in an increases in the removal of TPH from the soil in pots planted with B. campestris, F. arundinacea, and H. annuus, enhancing percentage degradation to 86%, 64%, and 85% from 45%, 54%, and 66%, respectively. The effect of HA was also observed in the degradation of n-alkanes within 30 days. The rates of removal of n-alkanes in soil planted with B. campestris and H. annuus were high for n-alkanes in the range of C11–C28. A dynamic increase in dehydrogenase activity was observed during the last 15 days of a 30-day experimental period in all the pots amended with HA. The enhanced biodegradation performance for TPHs observed might be due to an increase in microbial activities and bioavailable TPH in soils caused by combined effects of plants and HA. The results suggested that HA could act as an enhancing agent for phytodegradation of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil contaminated with diesel fuel and heavy metals.

We report that the corrosion resistance of mg is significantly improved by adding 0.05wt%*** rates evaluated from weight loss values after room-temperature immersion in 0.6 m NaCl solution for two weeks were 0.27 and 4.0 mm y^(-1)for the high-purity mg samples with and without microalloyed 0.05wt%Sc,*** beneficial effect of Sc microalloying on the corrosion resistance of mg is discussed in connection with Sc-induced microstructural modifications.
