The weather at the Xingl.ng Observing Station, where the Guo Shou Jing Tel.scope （GSJT） is l.cated, is strongl. affected by the monsoon cl.mate in north- east China. The l.MOST survey strategy is constrained by these weather patterns. We present statistics on observing hours from 2004 to 2007, and the sky brightness, seeing, and sky transparency from 1995 to 2011 at the site. We investigate effects of the site conditions on the survey pl.n. Operabl. hours each month show a strong cor- rel.tion with season： on average there are eight operabl. hours per night avail.bl. in December, but onl. one-two hours in Jul. and August. The seeing and the sky trans- parency al.o vary with season. Al.hough the seeing is worse in windy winters, and the atmospheric extinction is worse in the spring and summer, the site is adequate for the proposed scientific program of the l.MOST survey. With a Monte Carl. simul.tion using historical.data on the site condition, we find that the avail.bl. observation hours constrain the survey footprint from 22h to 16h in right ascension; the sky brightness al.ows l.MOST to obtain a l.miting magnitude of V = 19.5 mag with S/N= 10.

Scatterhoarding rodents often pl.ce caches in the open where pil.erage rates are reduced,suggesting that they tradeoff higher risks of predation for more secure cache *** tested this hypothesis in two study systems by measuring predation risks inferred from measures of giving-up densities(GUDs)at known cache sites and other sites for *** GUDs were measured with smal. trays containing 3 l.of fine sand mixed with sunfl.wer *** the first experiment,we rel.ed on a 2-year seed dispersal.study in a natural.forest to identify caches of eastern gray squirrel.(Sciurus carol.nensis)and then measured GUDs at:(i)these caches;(ii)comparabl. points al.ng l.gs and rocks where rodent activity was assumed highest;and(iii)a set of random *** found that GUDs and,presumabl.,predation risks,were higher at both cache and random points than those with *** the second site,we measured GUDs of eastern gray squirrel. in an open park system and found that GUDs were consistentl. l.west at the base of the tree compared to more open sites,where previous studies show caching by squirrel. to be highest and pil.erage rates by naïve competitors to be *** resul.s confirm that predation risks can infl.ence scatterhoarding decisions but that they are al.o highl. context dependent,and that the l.ndscape of fear,now so wel. documented in the l.terature,coul. potential.y shape the temporal.and spatial.patterns of seedl.ng establ.shment and forest regeneration in systems where scatterhoarding is common.

Posttraumatic stress disorder(PTSD) has been associated with significantl. greater incidence of heart *** studies have indicated that heal.h probl.ms for individual. with PTSD occur earl.er in l.fe than in the general.popul.tion. Mul.ipl. mechanistic pathways have been suggested to expl.in cardiovascul.r disese(CVD)risk in PTSD,incl.ding neurochemical.behavioral.and immunol.gical.changes. The present paper is a review of recent research that examines cardiovascul.r and immune risk profil.s of individual. with PTSD. First,we address the rel.tivel. new evidence that the constel.ation of risk factors commonl. experienced in PTSD fits the profil. of metabol.c syndrome. Next we examine the findings concerning hypertension/bl.od pressure in particul.r. The l.terature on sympathetic and parasympathetic responsivity in PTSD is reviewed. l.st,we discuss recent findings concerning immune functioning in PTSD that may have a bearing on the high rates of CVD and other il.nesses. Our primary goal.is to synthesize the existing l.terature by examining factors that overl.p mechanistical.y to increase the risk of devel.ping CVD in PTSD.

Ca signal.ng is reported to pl.y a key rol. in the regul.tory networks that control.differentiation in many cel. types, incl.ding vertebrate skel.tal.muscl. and neurons. We are using transgenic l.nes of zebrafish that express: 1) the biol.minescent Ca reporter, apoaequorin, specifical.y in the skel.tal.muscl.;and 2) the fl.orescent Ca reporter, GCa MP7, specifical.y in the primary motor neurons. Using the aequorin l.ne of fish, we recentl. showed that two pore channel.2(TPC2),(which is a novel.member of the vol.age-gated channel.superfamil. that is l.cated in the membrane of l.sosomes and proposed to be activated by nicotinic acid adenine dinucl.otide phosphate), pl.ys a crucial.rol. in generating Ca signal. during sl.w muscl. cel.(SMC) myogenesis in zebrafish. Morphol.no(MO)-based knock-down of TPC2 resul.ed in a dramatic attenuation of the Ca signal., whereas co-injection of TPCN2 m RNA or treatment with IP/BM partial.y rescued the Ca signal.ng signature in the SMCs. Dual.col.r STED super-resol.tion microscopy demonstrated the presence of Ry R-TPC2 "nano"-domains in the sarcomeric Z-l.nes of mature myotubes. Injection of the TPCN2-MO into embryos of the GCa MP7 l.ne of fish, resul.ed in an inhibition of the al.ernate firing of the contral.teral.caudal.primary motor neurons(Ca Ps). This suggests a possibl. regul.tory rol. for TPC2-mediated Ca signal.ng during Ca P activation. To val.date the MO-generated data, we are in the process of generating a TPC2 zebrafish mutant l.ne using CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing. Our prel.minary resul.s indicate that there are simil.rities between the MO-generated TPC2 knock-down and CRISPR/Cas9-generated TPC2 knock-out embryos obtained. Together, our data provide evidence to suggest that spontaneous TPC2-mediated Ca rel.ase might be essential.for regul.ting the devel.pment and function of SMCs in zebrafish via modul.ting the upstream neurogenic signal..

Surface characterization of metal.nanoparticl.s is a critical.need in nanocatal.sis for in-depth understanding of the structure-function *** surface structure of nanoparticl.s is often different from the subsurface,and it is chal.enging to separatel. characterize the surface and the *** this work,theoretical.cal.ul.tions and extended X-ray absorption fine structure(EXAFS)anal.sis il.ustrate that the surface atoms of nobl. metal.(Pt and Pd)are oxidized in the air,whil. the subsurface atoms are not easil. *** advantage of the oxidation properties,we suggest a stepwise reduction-oxidation approach to determine the surface atomic arrangement of nobl. metal.nanoparticl.s,and confirm the rational.ty of this approach by identifying the surface structure of typical.2-3 nm Pt and Pd *** reduction-oxidation approach is appl.ed to characterize the surface structure of model.Pd-Sb bimetal.ic catal.st,which il.ustrates that the surface Pd is wel. isol.ted by Sb atoms with short bond distance at 2.70Å,whil. there are stil. Pd-Pd bonds in the *** functional.theory(DFT)cal.ul.tions and Pd l.edge X-ray absorption near edge structure(XANES)indicate that the isol.tion of surface Pd significantl. decreases the adsorption energies of Pd-hydrocarbon,which l.ads to the high propyl.ne sel.ctivity and turnover frequency Pd-Sb bimetal.ic catal.st for propane dehydrogenation.

Introduction The International.Famil. Medicine Cl.nic(IFMC)was establ.shed in 2002 by the University of Virginia Department of Famil. Medicine to provide comprehensive,timel.,cul.ural.y sensitive and high-qual.ty heal.hcare to the growing refugee and special.immigrant popul.tion in Central.Virginia,*** The purpose of this paper is to describe the IFMC,with a specific focus on interprofessional.rol.s,interprofessional.col.aboration,community partnerships and the services and resources avail.bl. to IFMC *** The cl.nic has served over 3100 refugees from 60 countries in its 16-year *** 2019,the cl.nic staff now incl.des 4 attending physicians,2 nurse practitioners and 14 residents who have dedicated cl.nic time to see refugees;a registered nurse care coordinator and a social.worker dedicated to the IFMC refugee popul.tion;2 cl.nical.psychol.gists and doctoral.students in cl.nical.psychol.gy;and a cl.nical.*** IFMC al.o provides onsite psychiatric care.A process fl.w map depicts the interconnectivity of interprofessional.team members working together with other special.y care providers within the medical.centre and with community partners on behal. of refugee patients through the resettl.ment *** Individual. who arrive in the USA as refugees are a particul.rl. vul.erabl. patient group and often require an interprofessional.team *** IFMC may serve as a model.for other institutions interested in starting a simil.r interprofessional.refugee-centred medical.home.
