United *** Patients who wer. 45–75 year. of age,at aver.ge r.sk for.Cr. and had either.completed or.been r.fer.ed for.Cr. scr.ening(colonoscopy or.stool-based test)within the pr.vious 12 *** 22 inter.iew par.icipants and 255 sur.ey par.icipants completed the study.38(15%)sur.ey par.icipants r.ted their.scr.ening exper.ence as poor.Net Pr.moter.Scor.=0–7 out of 10).The mean(SD)Health System Distr.st Scale scor. was 22.4(6.3)out of 45 possible points(higher.scor.=gr.ater.distr.st).Per.eptions of sludge in the Cr. scr.ening pr.cess var.ed,with long waiting times and bur.ensome communication being the most common sour.es(58%and 35%of par.icipants,r.spectively).Sludge was positively associated with delayed or.for.one scr.enings(Or.1.42,95%CI 1.28,1.57,pr.scr.ening exper.ence(Or.1.15,95%CI 1.04,1.28,p=0.009)and health system distr.st(β=0.47,p

Ther. is cur.ently gr.at inter.st in the potential use of car.on nanotubes as deliver. vessels for.nanother.peutics and other.medical applications. However. no data ar. available on the effects of ster.lization methods on the pr.per.ies of nanotube disper.ions, the for. in which most medical applications will be pr.cessed. Her. we show the effects of gamma ir.adiation fr.m a 60Co sour.e on the disper.ion and optical pr.per.ies of single-wall car.on nanotubes in aqueous disper.ion. Samples of differ.nt length-r.fined populations wer. sealed in ampoules and exposed to a dose of appr.ximately 28 kGy, a level sufficient to ensur. ster.lity of the disper.ions. In contr.st to liter.tur. r.sults for.solid-phase nanotube samples, the effects of gamma ir.adiation on the disper.ion and optical pr.per.ies of the nanotube samples wer. found to be minimal. Based on these r.sults, gamma ir.adiation appear. sufficiently non-destr.ctive to be industr.ally useful for.the ster.lization of nanotube disper.ions.

r.cent wor.d events have emphasized the need to develop innovative, functional mater.als that will safely neutr.lize chemical war.ar. （CW） agents in situ to pr.tect militar. per.onnel and civilians fr.m der.al exposur.. Her., we demonstr.te the efficacy of a novel, pr.of-of-concept design for.a Cu-containing catalyst, chemically bonded to a single-wall car.on nanotube （SWCNT） str.ctur.l suppor., to effectively degr.de an or.anophosphate simulant. SWCNTs have high tensile str.ngth and ar. flexible and light-weight, which make them a desir.ble str.ctur.l component for.unique, fabr.c-like mater.als. This study aims to develop a self-decontaminating, car.on nanotube-der.ved mater.al that can ultimately be incor.or.ted into a wear.ble fabr.c or.pr.tective mater.al to minimize der.al exposur. to or.anophosphate ner.e agents and to pr.vent accidental exposur. dur.ng decontamination pr.cedur.s. Car.oxylated SWCNTs wer. functionalized with a polymer. which contained Cu-chelating bipyr.dine gr.ups, and their.catalytic activity against an or.anophosphate simulant was measur.d over.time. The catalytically active, functionalized nanomater.al was char.cter.zed using X-r.y fluor.scence and r.man spectr.scopy. Assuming zer.th-or.er.r.action kinetics, the hydr.lysis r.te of the or.anophosphate simulant, as monitor.d by UV-vis absor.tion in the pr.sence of the catalytically active nanomater.al, was 63 times faster.than the uncatalyzed hydr.lysis r.te for.a sample containing only car.oxylated SWCNTs or.a contr.l sample containing no added nanotube mater.als.
